My 5 speed automatic Honda Fit sport 2008 was made in Japan, and it is 16 years old. I purchased it back in September 2007. This is the best car I have ever owned, and I'm in my mid 70s. Maintenance is key for better car health.
I still have my 2010 Honda Fit Sport. Orange Metallic. It’s my commuter car to work. I have kept up maintenance on it. She is still going strong. Other drivers take a second look on the road.
Unfortunate that they had basically the what's-what of typical MK6 failures. Mine made it to 155K miles on the old revision tensioner somehow and I had my chains, tensioner and stuff all done. I did my rear main with a billet 034 unit and replaced the oil separator with a new one and use a BFI Clean Catch catch can and did an aluminum water pump. ZERO oil consumption and no more failures. Now at 168K miles and making over 360 whp with a pro tune and K04 and it's been rock solid. I don't recommend these cars for anyone wanting to just pump the boost and go. You have to fix all the weak spots first.
DUDE. I have surround sound in my livingroom and your shop door squeak opened on my left right next to my door and i legit jumped. It sounded like someone walked in my house 😅 my adrenaline just spiked because you opened a door lmao 😂
Few things. I applaud you for doing a proper retrofit! Definitely a great change form throwing LED’s in and blinding everyone, but when polishing the headlights it’s better to stop at 6-800 grit as the clear will chip on 1000+ grit as it doesn’t adhere as well. And the other part, you don’t have to remove the factory butyl sealant on the headlight, it is reusable, just add a bit extra and it’s good to go
yeah I tried redoing my headlights because previous lacquer coat came out really rough. it wasnt 2k clear and I prepped headlight by sanding with 600, 1000, 2000. I was also on the hunch that I need to stop at a lower grit. thanks for the tip
When I bought one of these nuggets back in 2020 I never expected to see it become a more popular Honda in the scene. Absurd they decided to build a dailyable track nugget you can treat like a kei van, lol
Love that you’re uploading vids more frequently and love the variety of videos. I like this more than just watching one build series. Thanks for making these!
Another reason I keep watching this channel years after finding it. You choose very attainable cars for your daily’s which feels like you are more connected to us. It’s cool and all to see someone daily a lambo but a Honda fit is actually something we could get and this proves they are cool!
Bout time for some Fit content. Welcome to the multiple Fits owners club lol, I currently have 3 GD3's & 1 GE8. I feel you on the grey being boring, 3 of mine are grey & 1 is Tidewater blue. Where did you get the projectors? They seem to fit very well & definitely look good. PLEASE do some nighttime shots of the beam pattern up to a wall or something side by side with the new Blaze orange one so we can see what if ANY difference the projectors actually make.
I don't know why content creators beg for comments & then never respond to any of them. My comment is well worth at least a quick reply. All you care about is views.
I love my 2008 Honda Fit sport, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't like the 09-13 fits more. I bought mine a couple years ago with 70 mi on it that a 78 year old man owned. It's been very well taken care of. I've got 101,000mi on it now. I would totally be interested in buying these wheels btw. My wife almost drove it off into a ravine and the car was just teetering on a curb. Needless to say, she put a massive gash into the oil pan. We just got it back from the shop and it's as good as ever. I've owned Volkswagens and I've sold them too, and just like every other German car, you can expect check engine lights galore. BTW, the red 08 fit is the worst color, and mine is now 6 different shades of red after its entire life being spent in the Southern Illinois sunlight.
You can't go wrong with the Honda jazz Gd, Ge, Gk are bullet proof engine last for long time, more market support then u have the k24 swap or k20 or Frankenstein swap.
I enjoyed this video. We have an exact twin of Audrey's car: 2008 Honda Fit Blaze Orange Metalic, less than 90K, bullet proof dependable, bought it in 09, easy to work on, we love it..
I’m loving the more content every week and on top of it your overall quality is just as good every video, if not better. Keep up the constant consistency
Love fits, have owned 4 of them, I just need one in my life all the time because they are SO reliable, currently have a second gen red with white Kosei K1’s and will never sell this one!! (Famous last words) love the channel - keep getting bigger
Keep the Fit content coming! I absolutely adore these little cars. You are the one who inspired me to get mine and it’s by far been the best car I’ve owned. A certified sex machine.
I love my mk6 gti, I must of just been lucky, done all the maintenance and its happy, original timing at 170k miles and track the car. Cam phase position was only -1 so its super happy. I did have the rear main issue with the PCV failing from the last owner but replaced it with a billet rear main so it cannot pop off like oem.
Just found your channel. I bought one of these for my daughter recently. I have been a toyota fan forever. I have to say I love my daughters car. I've actually been thinking about buying one for myself. Fun car to drive and great on gas and paddle shifters??? Look forward to watching more of your content for ideas on how to dress her's up a little. I'll have to see if you have a video on adjusting the valves. I need to do it on her fit. Keep up the great work.
I run white wheels on my cars so i approve for sure. If you cerMic coat the wheels they're easier to maintain. I can spray them with quick detailer and wipe them off or spray them off with a hose. Sometimes i only need to clean them every other day.
My 2010 Fit currently has 298,000 miles and will hit 300,000 by June. No mechanical issues other than a AC compressor. Lots of oil changes and tire rotations. Keep it washed and vacuumed.
More Audrey content! This girl supports all your shenanigans Caleb, most partners (female or otherwise) don't have us car fanatics backs, cherish that (and maybe give her more screen time) ;) Also the George Michael kazoo 😂😂
Too keen for the turbocharger videos 😁💪🏼 I'd love to see a comparison between the lights at night between the two cars - perhaps a UA-cam shorts? Keep up the great work brother man 🙏🏻
As a 2013 GTI owner I can confirm that that’s bescially early mk6 problems, Tensioner was bad till 2012. RMS and intake are up in the air for when they go but I replaced the rms with my clutch upgrade. They’re fantastic cars post 2012, but seriously congrats on the new fit
daaaamn son, Honda Fit 2002 1.3L in white color was my first car (got it from my mother) I always wanted it to be black but oh well I never got one because later I sold it and bought a Colt Czt 2006 plus a Suzuki Swift 2007, but modifying a car like the fit was a dream when I was young! Hope the series goes well.
Got me looking up Fit's now, just found one a few hundred miles away in purple. Def need to go look at it after this and stop paying so much for fuel on my truck.
100% if you just need your car to drive to work every day and grab groceries once a week, a Honda Fit is probably one of the smartest options you can get. It doesn't look exciting and it doesn't drive excitingly, but it's economical, practical and super reliable. Other options I'd have considered are the Toyota Yaris or the Mk7 Fiesta (ideally 1.6l 120hp), but I don't know if either of these cars exists in the United States.
GTI burns oil. I check it at 25,00 miles and oil change at 5,000 miles. Topping it off at near full level will prevent it from skipping timing etc. Fit is a very good car, reliable and roomy due to it's tall shape. Can't go wrong with Honda.
Great video Gingium I would have washed your fit tho just because I feel like the headlights should have a couple days to let the headlights seal completely harden
Damn not gonna lie you did an awesome job at retrofitting those headlights i want some like that for mines but dont have all the stuff to do it , and you saved like $600 bucks right there
I bought a 60k miles Manual Jazz Sport for 2.5k£ as my first car and was so excited because of yours and had a bunch of plans, it was horribly rusty underneath unfortunately and had one brake ceased, the exhaust fell off it while driving it home for the first time. Spent so much money on it with repairs and sold it for 2k after like a month or something as it had a big rust hole in the frame near the wheel well and I didn't want to lose more money welding it. The car was really fun to drive and really spacious but I had to let it go I ended up trading it in for a Manual 2.0 mk3 Mazda 6 and some more money. I wish I could go back to it but in the UK they are all so rusty :( ps: I was going to buy a clean Yellow one but my mate got covid I had to delay the buy 1 week and some lady bought it and I had to go for the rusty silver jazz
I have a mk5 gti edition 30 and absolutely love it. I do agree though if your going to buy one look into whether it has had the timing chain done. Keep up the good work guys iv literally watched every single vid youve made on here right from the start 👌👍
Kinda funny that I found this video while shopping for a daily driver for my long commute. Was torn between a mk6 vw gti and a gd Honda fit. Guess I’ll be going for the fit lol.
I'm local and have some tien lowering springs, hks axle back, hps short ram intake, crappy roof rails from a 2012 fit. Among some other leftover parts from trading in my fit recently. Not sure if they would be useful since they're second gen parts but you're welcome to them.
🤔When you get the lights, all done wet sand with 3000 grit then buff you get rid of the extra haze from the clear coat then they will look OEM fresh 😊👍🏼🤙🏽
Lol I used to have a ford escape too, which is actually how I got introduced to the channel. Now I have a mk6 gti with 205k on original motor…. The timing tensioner wasn’t replaced until like 189 and I’m still just casually waiting for it to explode with no backup car 😂
Hilariously enough I had a 6th gen with every bolt on possible already done when I bought it (unknown timing chain status), proceeded to tune it off its nuts with pretty bad wastegate rattle (345 lb ft of torque on the stock K03) and besides a coil pack one time nothing ever went wrong with it. Only had 65k on it at the time tho. Didn't realize how lucky I was lol
Ah man, really shouldn’t have gone past 800 before clear coating. More likely for the clear to fail with it sanded to 2000 underneath. Also heating the headlights in a low oven makes the sealant super easy to get off and apply new. When I use 2K clear on headlights I like to come back a week later and wetsand with 1200 then compound and polish for a perfectly clear finish.
I'd add a transmission cooler for the CVT life extending. The coolers they have are minimal and the primary reason most early models have had CVT failures. Add a double inline filter for better flake capture and less restricted flow. If your model doesn't have the rear sway bar, get one! Also, all these cars need shims in the rear for fixing the toe alignment. Japan has different standards or the production line was messed-up. Most of these cars have rear duck feet, outward. Gut out the rear seats and shave nearly 100 lbs off the car weight. Make a carpeted plywood platform to replace the missing seats. If you have AAA, remove the jack and tire to shave off another 60 lbs. Move the battery to the spare wheel compartment, in a battery box, to redistribute the missing weight a little. I wish these cars were about 6" shorter. They would easily hit 45 mpg average. Go ultra lightweight. Carbon fiber hood and hatch. Full gutted interior. Plexiglass or lexan windows on the rear and sides. Half size fuel tank. Composite seat, only for the driver. No other seat hardware. The CVT will love you longer. P.S. CVTs don't like powerful engines. If you do get more power, think about ordering a new transmission, as a backup. They are a bit pricey to replace on demand. Find a good one from a pick-a-part yard. One from a car with low miles and only a rear or side collision. Front impacts destroy the CVTs belts.
The filming and editing of your videos needs to be applauded. It's so deliberate while appearing nonchalant
Thank you 😊
Agreed
