Never got taught how to use the stove by my mother. Freaking out at 6 PM because shes on her way home from work and I’m supposed to make a box of Mac and cheese. You’re a life saver.
My dad bought me this Mac and cheese, and I didn't know how to make it I made some the other day with this video am making some right now with this same video and I bet it's gonna come out as good as it did last time!:)
I used to follow this recipe but tweaked it quite a bit over time: 1. Just add the pasta once the water boils and cook for 3:30 minutes. 2. Drain the water and leave the pasta in the strainer. 3. Melt 5tsp of butter for extra body and creaminess. Set the burner to low or simmer heat. 4. Add about 1/4 cup of milk. I usually just eyeball this. 5. Mix the milk into the butter for one minute. 6. Stir in the sauce packet to make a cheese sauce. If the sauce is too thin keep simmering for a few more minutes to reduce a bit. If it’s too thick and the sauce doesn’t dissolve smoothly add a tiny bit more milk. Ideally the cheese sauce should appear thick and fully mixed. 7. Add in the pasta and mix thoroughly. I just find this give you the chance to tweak the milk ratio before adding in the pasta and prevents you from overcooking the noodles. It’s takes practice but if the consistency of the cheese sauce is perfect the results are great usually.
Yo thanks for this guide I was hunger and there was nothing eat expect Mac n cheese and I did not know how to cook but i found this and I made and it actually tasted good thanks for this guide!
@@Donkensit does make sense. Kraft mac and cheese is an American brand. Not everyone is American. Kraft mac and cheese is expensive in different places. I grew up in a south Asian country and ate mostly instant noodles and pasta form local brands, while travelling I came across this mac and cheese and as I had seen many Americans make before I decided to get it.
I just bought it from a grocery store, I was surprised to see the small cheese packet so I wished to make one but had no idea how to, thank God you helped me to! God bless you. Have fun! 😊xx

I tried to make Mac n cheese on my own one time and it didn't go great, but now that I watched this video I think I can make a perfect bowl of Mac n cheese for lunch just like I've always wanted to
when i was a kid in the 70's the directions on the box were different. you boiled the pasta until done, then drained it in a strainer or colander. then, you put the butter and milk into the pot you boiled the pasta in and heated it until the butter was melted. then, you stirred in the cheese packet, then added the cooked pasta back in and stirred until well mixed. i still cook it that way because i find it not only to taste better but it is less watery.
What I messed up before was that after the macaroni is done boiling I put it in another bowl and add the butter and milk, so it came out soupy. Now I now I should mix everything in low heat
My tips for this EASY product! 1> I do NOT add salt to my boiling water, (UNLESS I'm using the pasta in a custom meal that does not add salt in a sauce, or powder mix, etc!) nor do I EVER add oil when boiling a pasta! Don't need it, and it makes it easier/faster to clean the pan later! 2> AFTER I get the water boiling to a FULL boil, I add my pasta, stir immediately, and after 2 minutes I turn the heat down a bit, usually at least 30-40%, why waste gas or electricity, it will cook just fine at a medium to low boil! :) 3> I personally like pasta cooked a little longer than almost all directions, so I pretty much increase cooking time by 50% or so. It just seems to me, the people that write the directions would rather err to caution, and have you serve "al dente" (al dente will be quite firm to bite) than mush? LOL (I keep a taste watch on mine, and never let it get mushy!) 4> Since these box mac & cheese products are usually cheap, and I live by myself, I will usually cook two boxes up, and split it up in 2 portions, one for my mac & cheese, and some for other needs later, like a quick pasta salad in the middle of the night in the next few days (add mayo, corn, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, maybe some tuna, all prepared and refrigerated ahead of time). So, that leaves an extra cheese packet/powder, right? YUM! I sprinkle a bit of it on top of my #1 batch of mac & cheese that sitting, along with some crushed potato chips! 5> After you've drained the pasta, and put it back in the pan, add the butter as show in the video (I NEVER use as much as they say too, again, it doesn't need quite that much, why waste the butter?), stir the butter into the pasta before adding the milk, get an even coating, then add the milk, and do the same thing, quickly, THEN sprinkle in the powder pack contents! It's all about consistent coating and flavor! The powder will be harder to incorporate if it hits the macaroni before the butter does! Also consider, the macaroni will start to absorb each flavor/ingredient as soon as they are added. 6> After you drain the pasta/macaroni, IMMEDIATELY clean up the colander that isn't oily because I don't add oil to pasta when cooking, it cleans up quick and easy! If you let the colander sit, it gets gummy and nasty and harder to clean! :( Have fun! :)
It doesn't matter relative to the execution/cooking, but may affect the flavor, but consider your dietary needs, the cheese sauce packet will add a lot of salt, so..... :)
