I let the bread soak for 10 minutes to a half hour, depending on how dry it is. So it tastes like egg, which I thought was the point of french toast. Don't really understand this "quick dip" thing, but I think it has to do with people who think deep down that raw eggs are "icky" and disgusting. That's why he insists that the eggs be thoroughly beaten "no globules". It's like people who must have their hamburgers burned to a crisp, or like people who (over) boil shrimp or lobster to death in an unconscious attempt to sanitize the food.

In france, it's made with stale bread, originally it was for not to throw bread, hence its french name "pain perdu" (wasted bread), and it's better because the bread is not too soft
Yes it's true originally it s made with old bread but 90% of people find this better with not soft bread ( called brioche in france )
usually give my bread a light toast
France
Enough said haha
Stale bread used in USA for salads but to each his own.
@@seehearspeaknoevil5090 i think that for the salads it's more hard bread, for the french toast, it's approximately two days old bread
Just made these for Mother’s Day. They were the best I’ve ever made. Thank you!

Just what I need ,, easy , fast and delicious …- Making this just now !!! Thank you !!! ❤
Being south asian we always make savoury French toast: egg, onions, green chili, and salt. Still tastes really good!
Have made this recipe twice now and it is the bomb!! I cannot justify spending $11 in a restaurant for French toast anymore. What I make at home with this recipe is so much more delicious and so much more economical. Thank you!
Id never tried french toast before but it always looks tasty so I decided to give your recipe a go. It was lovely, I used a leftover brioche bun for my bread and soaked it a little longer coz the 'custardy' bread sounded good to me. Thanks for the recipe, super easy and tasty 😋
This was worth it. Don t know why or how, but i woke up today and i had an appetite for french toast and your recipe didn't disappoint my friend, thank you. I ate it with banana and strawberries + honey, yuuuummy.
