  • Teaching artist Roger Fernandes tells this Coast Salish story where a young person transforms into a better person through the compassion and wisdom of the salmon, and also teaches his people the lessons he has learned. Can a culture change through the transformation of one person? Also, learn the 3 shapes in Coast Salish art and practice using those shapes to draw a salmon! This lesson is great for learners of all ages, particularly youth grades 3-8.
