This game gives you so much pulls just for exploring the game and doing quests, sidequests and stuff. I haven't spend a single € on this game yet and have lots of SSR's. Even have King on C3 now. I've been playing lots of gacha games over the years and yep, of course I payed money. But when I was playing ToF I didnt even felt the need to do that. I mean, I was planning to not even spend any money anyway, but the more I played, the more I realized I didnt even had to. This game, out of ALL the gacha games I played so far, is very rewarding regarding getting pulls and other stuff. Not even Genshin impact can top that. tbh - if this game keeps this pace, it can actually become a really awesome gacha game for a change. But thats just my personal opinion at this point. I know everyone has their own pov on this and thats fine. Anyway - its still a gacha game after all. Know your limits, when it comes to buying stuff. From personal experience I can say - you really dont need to, because this game will give you a lot just by playing. I bet, having a C6 is pretty rewarding. Especially in pvp, because you DO have an advantage. The bonus effects on some weapons are really worth it and every constellation counts then. But just for f2p and pve... its just nice to have, but not necessary.
Does amon have a game that he just simply "likes". Wow, ffx, genshin, immortal.. You name it the content is how bad everything is in it. I get that's what gets his views, but it would be interesting to see what game asmon genuinely enjoys playing and thinks is made well and is fun.
Lol, my dude. You just spend a monthly mortgage payment for a lot of Americans, for about an hour saved in a nothing game, just for content. If that doesn't show just how dumpster trash games like these are, nothing will. Thank you for this example.
I have spent £0 and will never spend anything on this game. I however have already got 2x SSR Weapons, both the shield and the cube (which is amazing) and I am 13 gold nucleus away from getting my 80 freebie. I understand that you can buy more pulls, but in my opinion just play the game, be patient, have fun, and keep your card in your wallet 😀
Also Ironically the SRs (purples) fully maxed, which is stupid easy to do f2p, are insanely stronger than a SSR that isnt upgraded with dupes. A low pity count for SSR and being able to easily get SSR dupes with leftover pull currency from the store for free makes the game really F2P friendly
@@JordanU375 the base stats of maxed SRs get better yes, but the SSRs actually have better % of the attack stat in their attacks, so they are still better at one copy most of the time
I always like to draw the comparison between Gacha and Dark Souls 3. I remember Dark Souls 3 got roasted for a while for offering a couple hours of quality DLC content. The most common criticism being that it's not worth the price you pay for it. That being about $15 each. I don't know if that's still the case today, but that's how I remember it. Look at what $15 buys you in Gacha games. Literally just a single multi if they're on the cheap end. Which most likely only gets you garbage you're never going to use. It's especially egregious when they dilute the loot pool with generic items nobody asks for like these weapons for instance. I once rolled with about 400 Saint Quartz in Fate Grand Order which I got from grinding for free. That's iirc about $300 worth in rolls if you paid for them, I ended up getting literally nothing worthwhile. I got no SSRs and 2 SRs I already had and didn't use in the first place. I ended up burning it all. It's only worth paying for Multis if they have a paid only GSSR banner, even then it's debatable whether you should spend around $20 for a single character in a Gacha game. Considering the gameplay quality in most is subpar at best, but that's just subjectively speaking. You should spend your money however you like, but unless you're completely devoted to getting a specific character, don't act like this isn't a complete ripoff.
Honestly, I would lie and pretend it was a scam. Nobody should have to bare the shame of verbally confirming to their bank that they spend money on virtual waifus in a korean MMO...
I played Tower of fantasy for couple of hours and it isn't that much p2w, you can get alot of stuff for free especially if you just run around the map and poking stuff here and there
"Not that p2w" is still p2w. It's not even just about that. It's about the manipulative monetization practises, even targeted at kids. It's also about the intricacies of the game's design revolving around the shop, sacrificing the integrity of what games are supposed to be about.. Which is entertainment. I wish these games would charge full price, and if they are a service, either do expansions or a subscription..~ Fuck.

I played for an hour after watching asmond play just to see what i'd get for free within that time. I'd skip cutscenes since i watched him play already. After speed running to the gacha part i got a nice ssr Zero fire cube user that i found out i actually kinda liked, on top of the cube mount for just access, adds a nice touch, especially since my users name is fire related. Controller controls weren't too friendly, since you cant progress chats, but they are there. Overall the game was not too bad an experience. Tip for character creator, it erases your edit if you reselect default character.
It will be exactly like Genshin, at the beggining everything was easy with characters you liked. And then whales demanded harder content because they were stomping all the content and it evolved until it was impossible to complete the challenge modes without multiple 5 star weapons and characters with duplicates.
What?! The game is still absolutely completable without any 5 star weapons or even characters. There have been people who 36 star abyss with 4 star duos with 4 star weapons (aka the 4-4-4 challenge), much less full teams.
You mean the challenge mode in events, that give you like 3 purple crystals and nothing else? Like, yeah, that needs max tier stuff but... why do you care? NOTHING is locked behind it that you cannot farm out in literally 2 minutes per evet.
Gatcha players always hit you with that "you dont NEED to spend any money to get it" then proceed to tell you they have 3k hours and are barely at baseline endgame
Depends on gacha game really. Wanna play Diablo Immortal F2P (yes, I consider it a gacha game, because with the crest system it bloody well is)? Lol, nice joke! FGO? It is possible, you'll have a painful time at it though. Genshin? The only endgame content (Spiral Abyss) is self-contained and gives you nothing unique or exclusive. You can do all the exploration, story content and all the actually worthwhile parts (the combat oriented events tend to have a super difficult elite tier, but the rewards for these are completely worthless, all the good stuff is for the lower tiers) of events without ever pulling on any gachas. And I do mean, any, so yes, this includes never using your free pulls, which... well, why wouldn't you?
You don't need to pull to Play. If you wanna get characters you have to spend money or grind. That grind depends on game. I love you are making argument without having no idea about gacha games :)
To be honest and as you can see, these games are actually not that hard. Most of the money you spend is to play a diff playstyle. Its not the best but yeah. Recently started playing a few, f2p only, and its barely necessary. Endgame, for the most part, is just an infinite maze where you measure how much you have spent. But youll finish the 1st floor by the time ya get there.
It seems so many poor f2p players flexing on UA-cam comments how they got (insert something good here) without paying a cent. Noone give a shit that's not the point lmao
I was watching this while opening my first 10x red orbs and I got Nemisis on my first ever pull! Best part is that I didn't spend a single penny on this game. 💀
I'm imagining Asmon playing Genshin Impact. Ar15 he spends money to pull for Thundering Pulse. Puts it on Amber. It sucked. That can't be right and spends money again to pull for Yoimiya. Finds out its only marginally better than Amber. That can't be right. Tries to level Yoimiya then hits an Inazuma leveling material wall. At that time, he'll be playing through Monstadt and Liyue to reach Inazuma.

Also, out of all the weapons in the game and his second ssr is a dupe + if he went to the limited page he would of gotten about 18 extra pulls plus all the resources "extas" that come with it

The League comment is true. PvE aside, paying to get a higher chance to match the meta does not make a game P2W. In League you can buy all the champions with RP and the higher the price (usually) the more broken the champion is, just spending money to get better characters/weapons faster does not equate to P2W. I haven't played this game personally but as long as a F2P player can still farm to get the same legendary weapons then it is not P2W.
Champions with highest prices are the ones that got released recently in league. Mostly the old champs are the ones with least rp cost but being op isn't an indicator at all.
The bank did it because the dev is a Chinese company. I had a night where I spent $300 on house things at Walmart, $20 on fast food, and $5 on Genshin Impact. It was the $5 that triggered "fraud protection".

tbf most ppl who play gacha don't spend at all, and it's because the cost for wishes is so high that no sane person would consider it, granted many still do and that sucks but yeah.
@@wesleyleigh4063 Though kids that doesn't know better is the actual target of these games. I played it because it's still more accessible than genshin on the puzzling side, as genshin can be very specific on having certain characters to finish some puzzle much easier. Yet this game puzzle is far subpar than genshin and it sadden me. I thought I'll get to play genshin clone but it just turns out to be a subpar genshin clone. the gacha is quite lenient than genshin though, having a clear pity bar and not reseting it after getting the SSR, which made me got 3 SSR in 80 pull, which is far better than genshin which can took 60 pull for one 5 star, which is now so many much more than the time I quit, after I realized it'll be a subscription I payed each month for 6 years, that I could buy better game without wondering the gacha pull. Currently, it seems like everyone is guaranteed to get an SSR between 20-30 pulls on gold nucleus banner. There is literally no reason to spend money once you have an SSR weapon right now.

In a casino u have a chance to win money, on a game u just lose money.
Same I just spent 6 bucks so I could get the arm thing and some free pulls for later but I ended up with 3 5*’s before hitting my 80 pity
Lol I wish my bank would reality check me sometimes.
i swear i havent put any, ANY cent into tower of fantasy, yet i own some of the best weapons in the game

I think the concern focuses more on the pvp side of things. I heard pvp is limited, but still.
"Not that p2w" is still p2w. It's not even just about that. It's about the manipulative monetization practises, even targeted at kids. It's also about the intricacies of the game's design revolving around the shop, sacrificing the integrity of what games are supposed to be about.. Which is entertainment.

I quit genshin for the lifespan of the entire continent and im more or less following this "endgame" as f2p.

There is also a free to play champ pool that change every week
