I agree. Although I don’t mind watching these videos every once in a while, I just think about how the person buying could’ve bought multiple finished video games for the money they just spent (and therefore more content)
I mean...you got to handle gacha just like gambling (as it is gambling imo regardless of what the ESA or a handful of world governements (China, Korea, and Japan seem to support it a lot for shitty reasons imo): you sparingly do it and you have a hard cap going in when it comes to how much you will spend. For me it's generally about $100 going into a casino when I have the free cash and I'll either come out with more or less (usually less) and just focus on having fun in that time...as for Gacha (only one I actively play is Genshin tbh and I've been playing it less and less lately) I started with putting more cash than I should (all BPs for the first 8 months, a $100 on Zhongli's banner, and all other options at least 1x for the first year on top of Welkin each month to now basically only Welkin and not even every month (haven't for the past 2 to 3 before the current batch i bought for 3 months work in prep for Sumeru/Sumeru's archon/Dendro character in general and I likely won't renew it for a while after that) and at best would only buy $60 worth of Welkin for the entire year (would cover every month) and may only do half of that and only when I have the extra cash for it that it won't matter much.
Instead i'd rather spend my cash on full on retail games than these f2p scams, especially since at least unlike these f2p games I don't have to worry about losing the game once the service ends (at worse I'd have to worry about the game disc, console, or PC breaking as the only way I'd lose access to the game).

i freaking love mtashed because hes so conscious about his spendings and encourages other people to think about how much they spend in games. thats pretty rare with content creators and i really appreciate it. when you constantly watch people spend copious amounts of money and being really chill about it, you think wow then ig its not a big deal. but it is
If content creators actually cared about their audiences they wouldn't show countless pull videos. A lot of these influencers get statistically impossible rolls which just encourages people to go all in.

Honestly, you're kinda guaranteed two SSRs within 120 pulls which is pretty nice if I say so myself. And you have the potential of getting more without resetting the pity. Better than the 180 pulls Genshin provides...

Bruh, anothr one who can't count... Do you even know what soft pity is? Do you know that it also applies to genshin? You will RARELY have to go to more than 120 wishes to get a character, it's really rare bcs thing like soft pity exists. It's not like this game only has it bruh.
The currency in Malaysia require a crazy amount of money to top up for a Gacha Game. It's crazy that this is legal and people accepted this transaction.
Overall, the TOF gacha rate is fairer than Genshin.
Ehhh, it is for characters, but there are also Matricies. I'm unsure how earning those in game is viable vs. needing to pull for decent ones.

A note on the red nucleus banner currency changing to gold banner currency when the banner changes:
You can only use gold banner currency to buy copies of SSRs you ALREADY OWN. So if you are hoping to use that converted gold currency to buy Nemesis when/if she moves to the gold banner, you CANNOT buy her unless you have already lucked out and pulled her on the red or gold banners.
Everyone says in Genshin that "building pity" is a myth, but that is doubly true in ToF. Do not pull on the red banner until you have 120 red nuclei to guarantee you get the weapon/character, unless you love to gamble and don't mind those pulls being wasted.

@@ZedekiahNS even if the pity does (the rolls/80), unlike Genshin where every second banner 5* is guaranteed banner character if you lost the 50/50, here you don't have that guarantee. The guarantee is from 120 rolls on that specific banner because otherwise they get converted. In a way, that is bad, because in genshin, you could have that guaranteed banner character waiting and get it next pull. Here, you might pull a Tectone and lose 50/50 every banner if you only have enough for the 80 pulls, and then never see a banner character until you get it randomly after they are added to standard banner.
@@ZedekiahNS X/80 pity carries over between banners, but when you hit that 80 pulls you still have to win the 50/50, even if you lost the 50/50 last time you got an SSR on the red banner. The only way to avoid the chance of losing the 50/50 is to do 120 pulls and get 120 of the banner currency you gain after every pull.
Let's say you pull 40 times, and get an early SSR, but lose the 50/50. Then you hit 80 pulls and lose the 50/50 again. You manage to get 39 more red nuclei before the Nemesis banner ends and spend them as you get them. You are at 119 red banner currency and Nemesis ends. All 119 converts over to gold banner currency and you are at 0 currency and 39/80 on the next banner, which you could lose the 50/50 on again at 80 pulls.
Nemesis moves to the gold banner a month or two later. You go to the gold banner store to spend gold currency on her, but see that she is not there.
Red banner currency can be used to buy the limited weapon/character outright for 120.
Gold banner currency can be used to buy a DUPLICATE of any SSR character that you ALREADY HAVE that is on the gold banner.
You cannot buy your first Nemesis with your gold currency, you need to win her off the banner. Once you have won her off the banner, you can spend gold currency to get dupes to raise her star level (constellations in genshin terms).

@@taufikramdhani4514 Flame Gold is red banner currency, Black Gold is gold banner currency. Flame gold becomes black gold when the current limited/red banner ends. Flame gold can buy the limited weapon/character if you don't have them. Black gold can only buy extra copies of weapons/characters you already own.
I think the best way to think of the limited, red nucleus banner is like this:
Ignore the X/80 tracker. Consider your flame gold currency your pity, and it does NOT carry over between banners. Do not use any red nuclei on the limited banner unless you have 120 red nuclei. When you have 120, spend them. If you win the 50/50, stop pulling, or invest the rest of your 120 red nuclei and you can use the flame gold currency to buy a duplicate to star up the character if you want to.
Man, a good advice for people that play this game and can't spend money is to do the bosses every time they can and have the item to open the box. Today I was just fooling around collecting stuff and at some point some people start doing the ice robot boss. Thing is that after being one shoted like a millions times I still got credit for the boss. I used one of those yellow card things on the chest and it gave me tsubasa or whatever the name of the Ice bow chick is. I guess being floored by the boss was worth it. 🤣🤣🤣

Genshin is my 15 mins game ToF can be a main game as far as I know spending on Genshin with no way to use the characters except 2 week abyss is just sad. I am still 5 hours on ToF but I hear it has more worth it PvE and PvP content.

Genshin was the start of a new wave of gacha games. Having played older ones and Dislyte now... I put me off spend because of how much FOMO Genshin instilled in me com pared to all the others.
I think if you like Genshin game play you might like to try ToF, but I'll use the units I get from in-game farming rather than mald on the next shiny one as the PVP in this game is the whale bait. lol Same with Dislyte, the PVP is just bait but doesn't stop your account growth. ;) But because I will not spend money on Dislyte or ToF it also easier to DROP a game you're not having fun with anymore.
Also Genshin just has "better" story over pretty much all gatcha games so that's why I stay invested and why I cause to whale after a month of playing. Most gacha's have shoestring stories and they just hope you like to collect things or the gameplay to stay on.

I think the way to treat the system in this game is to consider 120 in one banner to be the guarantee and anything under that is a gamble. The 80/80 pity is a trick, in the limited banner at least.

I've spent about 42 hrs in game and he has 5 SSR weapons in 17 mins, that took me a week of playing the game with over 70% exploration in every area (besides Warren) to get that same amount including dupes. If you are planning on being f2p and have very little time in your day, it's gonna take quite some time to get what he has.
I suggest you save for the new characters instead of spending too many resources, because there's a big powercreep in this game, and even Nemesis becomes worthless compared to the new stuffs coming soon.

Yeah I am from Mexico and every gacha game is super expensive to me, but still there is fun in spending for yourself sometimes, anyways I agree with you, you need to be careful when spending in this kind of thing it gets bad really fast .
The best option for those that still wanna spend, it is the pass where you get stuff daily for 30 days.
I watched Rich and Tectone get an SSR every other 10 pull on stream last night, decided to try my hand at it seeing 2 different people getting the rates they were. They were getting so many it came across as the norm. Spent around 30k black gems along with all the other pulls it gives you by the end of the night. Hit pity TWICE IN A ROW on the red banner without an SSR... I'm happy with the SSRs i did end up getting in the end, but I do sincerely believe that they were giving streamers some better luck last night. It was just so statistically impossible the amount of SSRs Rich and Tectone got with the highest view count on Twitch at the time last night. They had multiple people in their discord who would share their screen, and get absolutely destroyed by the rates (one person to the point of actually rage quitting when comparing to what the big streamers were pulling). I'm very experienced with gacha games and the rates they were pulling were strait sus and did make me feel like wanting to pull.

This. I don't believe the luck as well. Played alot and I only got the guaranteed one at 28. I'm currently at 70 pulls with only SRs. After standard banner I will wish on premium banner only after gathering 120 pulls. At least it requires less pulls than genshin.
This is pretty standard for CN games by letting influencers get superbly lucky so their viewers will be fooled to spend mony to pull.

I started ro think this game gives good rates in some accounts so everyone would think it is luck. I mean in my genshin account I never loose any 50/50 and even got some times a extra copy without going beyond of 80 wishes. Same hefe in tod, I got 4 ssr in standar banner within 80 pulls.
Getting the SSR in the first 30 just like getting Noel in the first 20. You can get lucky and get more than one in the first 30 though, but just because you get it early doesn’t mean at 30 you will get one for sure if that makes sense. Out of 5 reroll accounts I pulled 2 SSR in first 30 on 2 accounts.

Me too! I spent $0 so far, 3 SSR characters within 35-40 pulls, and if i look at my history, the very first ssr i got was on wish 2 (so basically 1 since i believe the halberd is guaranteed first wish).
I spent 50 cents on this game and only get 1 SSR, but that's because I need to buy a cup of coffee in a coffee shop to use their wi fi....
I would have had three right now if I hadn't gotten a copy of one I got earlier before hitting pity lol
I got king from soft 30 pity then a day later I continued got zero along the way and got it again at 80
I was not too happy about it tbh but I checked out the weapon and it's honestly not bad at all
After getting the copy I was rdy to switch servers and just start again lol but I said let me try it out first and now I don't want to abandon it xD
It saves me and protects me from dmg
The first star upgrade adds healing to the weapon
The skill gives me a shield so it's good for semi tanking and healing
The heals scale off of atk so higher atk higher heals.
btw you get one ssr at 30-70 and 80 in your first standard banner pulls
Yeah I'm f2p and I got 2 SSR within my first 5 hours of playing. I don't think i've even cleared the map yet and I haven't gotten the free ssr and free 10 yellows yet
When I start a new gacha IF I like it a lot the first couple of days at most I'll get the stuff like the pass and monthly membership, things that aren't that expensive and usually give a ton of stuff by playing the game. If I can't stick long enough to get full use of those then much less spending so much for one character. Then if I love the game and stick with it as a main game, yeah, I might spend money to get a character I absolutely want.
But yeah, glad to see people promoting having fun while warning against massive spending in these games.

With regards to what Mtashed said on buying the limited character once it transfers to the standard one, you have to own the character first before you can buy the weapon from that store.
what i love about this gacha, is if you pull the weapon, you actually get the character along with it as well

this is why TOF is better, you get the weapon, u also getting the character. you are practically saving hundreds in TOF than in genshin

Well when ToF 2.0 comes out globally will be even better 3 new maps, one is a desert area (which came out way before Genshin announced their desert area), the other one is a futuristic city which you can board a train and see the city in first person and the other one is a dungeon. I think after that they also added another location already. There's also a battle royale mode in beta phase where you start with no weapons, items or anything, your level starts at 1 I think and you get stuff in the BR map the mode is actually similar to Naraka Bladepoint. But that update might still take awhile it's Tower of Fantasy best update so far

@Mtashed buying the weapon in the store will only get you the weapon, but not the character. you can only get the characters, if you pull their weapons from the gacha.
i only bought the biggest Tanium bundle ($100) once, the Advanced Pass ($20) for the battle pass thing, plus Rookie Supplies ($1), plus adventure pack ($5) for a ~$126 total.
using what i could from all that, i got Némesis from the 80th red nucleus pull (bought most of the reds from the Limited Gift Pack section and Dark crystals), and am only missing 5 characters total (all SSR) from the full roster. got the Terminator on full 6 stars, healing staff at 4, and Rosy Edge at 1.
which puts me at 6 total SSR pulls: 3 from random 10 pulls, 1 from 80th normal pull, 1 from 80th banner pull. got Rosy Edge twice, hence the 1 star on it, instead of a 6th SSR char. and 1 SSR of my choice from a special SSR box that i got for reaching 700 points in the Starpath Navigation event.
seems like any other gacha game to me, but they really need to pedal, just to keep up with Genshin, which was out way longer. gotta say tho, having such a detailed character customization is a huge advantage vs Genshin's mere gender choice, costumes and glider skins. as for the Simulacra roster, i'd say give it time, and it may catch up to Genshin's. they play their cards right, be more benevolent with their handouts, and ToF may stick around, perhaps even rival the other older big names down the line.

I remecom,end people hold onto their SSR selector till after you played a bit and you have 2-3 SSRs already. A) You can use your pick to either Get the unit you could not get or B) Get a unit type you're missing. If you don't have a shield breaker... get a shield breaker. ;) you don't need an SSRs healer Pepper is fine.
There's not meta yet for global game so long as you get a unit of each time. You're good to go and farm what you want after this point.

I've always gotten the impression that for many, Genshit was their first, and only mobile gacha game experience, so even if they now have tried Tower of Fantasy, they compare things as if Genshit was the norm, when it's not. Here's some info for those such people:
1- Compare to other gacha games, even Honkai Impact, Genshit has always been pretty stingy with providing pulls, and for top tier stuff the gacha rates are pretty low (0.6%) compare to the more common 1.5% to 2% range other gacha games have (that includes Honkai Impact).
2- Usually in gacha games, when one banner for new gacha stuff ends, and another begins, all the new things from the last banner are added to the general pool. The only exceptions tend to be stuff from collaboration events, and those super special, limited, exclusive things that only appear on banners that come up maybe a few times a year. Even in Honkai, a character as old as Venti should have been added to the general banner pool by now, and likely would have been made accessible outside of the gacha at least once as well.
3- Usually in mobile gacha games, end game will revolve around some difficult gear check content, that is also usually competitive in nature, with this being how they push people to spend in the gacha. While it wasn't competitive, this is how Genshit was at first with the main content being the featured combat event each update, but they stopped making harder events/content over a year ago now. After that point they seemed to make content meant to get people emotionally invested in characters to get people to pull for them, and there's really no challenging content outside of the abyss, which is the least important/rewarding of the three main forms of recurring content in Genshit.
4- Usually there will be just one main thing in the gacha, some do have two, but considering how bad the artifact system in Genshit is, and how its inventory was always checked for space when pulling in any banner, they seem to have always planned to add artifacts to the gacha in the future, likely after Genshit profits declined past a certain level, with gacha ones probably being stronger, with little, to no RNG. I also expect they will add combat pets to the gacha in time as well, like they did in Honkai.

What this means in relation to Tower of Fantasy is this:
1- At end game, one can likely expect to get more pulls over the same span of time from playing the game, and doing events in Tower of Fantasy, than in Genshit. Then with the still low, but at least slightly higher rates (0.75%, compare to 0.6%), a pity that does not reset, top tier stuff in the shop for the currency obtained while pulling, and at least the chance to get top tier stuff from regular in-game content, you can expect to get more top tier things over the same span of time in Tower of Fantasy, than you would from Genshit if playing free to play.
2- Especially since the currency obtained from pulling new rate up weapons/characters converts to the general one when the banner ends, I would expect them to enter the general pool after their featured rate up banner ends.
3- Tower of Fantasy has an endless tower mode, PvP, as well as other things meant to be more difficult, and usually until you get to end game, content in service based games can be pretty easy, so I wouldn't judge difficulty around what it has now. Although as it is still a mobile gacha game, I wouldn't expect it to be more more than a gear check, with limited skill requirements.
4- With just weapons, that also provide "characters" as the featured gacha thing, your pulls of the same type, are not being split over different things, as they try to do in Genshit, and Honkai.

I quit Genshit several months ago, quit Honkai over a year ago, and have no plans of playing Tower of Fantasy. It's just that when looking over other comments, I see people saying things as if they expect everything to work out the same way in Tower of Fantasy, as it does in Genshit, and some clear fanboying/white knighting for Genshit as well.
Lmao you sound mad hurt from Genshin. U probably just had shit luck trying to get ur characters. Besides, that’s what makes Genshin special anyways. Once you get a special character and the banner goes away for months that’s called exclusivity. You saved up to pull and got that character. It wouldn’t feel as special if they just threw every special character in the standard banner. Do I know they don’t have the best artifact system amongst other shit? Obviously. But do I still play it because it’s fun as shit and set the bar for gacha/mobile games? Obviously. Honkai is fun and so are others but this tower game is clearly not on the same development level as Genshin or equivalents. Think of Genshin as an Apple iPhone and this as like a razor flip phone. It’s not hard to see it’s a night and day difference gameplay wise. Doesn’t matter what you or anyone else says about Genshin. There’s a reason it won the awards it has. People lie numbers don’t 👍🏻

The pummeler at c6 is one of the best ftp pvp weapons because it’s passive stuns every 20 seconds, I only found this out because my friend abused it 💀

Ive actually gotten really lucky in this game as a f2p. Ive got a 4 star King, 1 star meryl, nemesis, frigg, claudia, 3 star tsubasa, 3 star crow, 1 star zero, 1 star coco, 1 star huma and a shiro. Though i dont have stars for the limited chars currently.

that being said this game is very friendly compared to others, you can get ssr in game over time by just playing. it throws summons at you and you can get them from world bosses and purple lock boxes, i spent 180 and have every character in the game and a dupe of almost all of them as well as a c3 nem.
Deleted my Coloring Story Book Genshin so i can play Hard-core Gaming Tower of Fantasy on Phone. 15 Gb was removed and Replaced by 9 Gb.🔥 I even got 2 SSR's (5 Star Character) on my first 40 pulls.

There are Limited deals that use premium currency in the shop. They usually give you more then what you are paying for it. So like spending 2600 prem for 22 summons.

Just a little tip to anyone new: you will want to max out your sr weapons even if you don't use them, because each time you get them on a pull, instead of coming the item to elevate the weapon, it will come the currency coin! (Idk if you need to max the weapons for it, but I did just in case)

The best thing in my opinion to do is to play with who you get from your pulls. Find ways to enjoy what you have because if you pine for a particular unit, and end up paying a whole heap of money, you'll end up regretting in the future. I got the SSR Molten Shield V2 and not knowing anything about the weapon, am enjoying learning how to play with it.
Or just play a a proper MMO without all the gambling bullshit.

I should also mention that like genshin, you get a -lot- of black crystals by just playing the game. I've only played for 2 days now and I got 6400 black crystals. I have not bought any of the blue crystals. All i've bought its the daily reward (welkin) and battle pass which gives a little. The game is fairly genereous.

hi just wanna ask, I haven't spent any money in this game, everything is from exploration points, supply pods, achievements, etc. What happens when I have completed all of them? Do the resources respawn again or they stay dry, forcing me to spend hundreds of dollars to spend for the next weapon gachas?
sadly they do not respawn, but one daily out of the 4 always gives you 1 gold nucleus
