I love it!! Thank you so much for making this so easy for me and my sister. We were struggling for school and you did an amazing job explaining it. Thumbs up from us!!
this was amazing, I have a test tonight and I was still flustered with the math conversions and this made soooo much sense to me. I will be following from now on.
Yes- sorry! 1gram= 1000mg .001 gram = 1 mg At 4.15 in yellow I moved the decimal in the wrong direction and it should be 1 gram --> 1000 mg Thanks for pointing that out!
Decimal places means the amount of zeros? If I’m moving 3 places to the right does that mean adding 3 zeros Im in dosage calculations and we are learning so many different rules i getting confused. Im like I need the conversion in medications down packed as I must pass and I want to learn this stuff too
You are adding zeros, but you are moving to the left of the decimal you are making a smaller number. If you have 3 grams= X mg. 3.0 grams --> you move the decimal 3 PLACES ->. 0.003 you add the zeros after you move the decimal past the 3. So 3 grams= 0.003mg. HTH
Hi, I am doing drug calculations. How would you equal mg to grams? 62.5 mg per 2ml is available on hand. Doctor prescribed 0.025 g..Can you please explain this conversion please.
This is how I would do that calculation: First convert grams to milligrams 0.025 grams --> move the decimal place 3 spaces to the right --> 25 mg 0.025 grams= 25 mg So, the doctor ordered 25 mg of medication Then: Dose ordered/Dose on hand X Volume of medication = mL 25 mg/62.5 mg X 2 mL 25 X 2 = 50 50/62.5 = 0.8 mL There are many ways to do this. I prefer to tell my students to multiply dose ordered X volume and then divide by the dose on hand. Remember: The dose on hand and the dose ordered with always be the same (mg-mg) and the volume will always be the same as the answer (mL-mL) Not always easy to explain when written out online, but I hope this helps you.
When it comes to pounds and kg: There are 2.2 pounds for each kilogram, making kilograms bigger. If someone weighs 150 lbs (pounds) they will only weigh 68.18 kg. In other words, divide 150/2.2 = 68.18
+hmood ska Easy! Move the decimal point 6 places to the right. 15 kg= 15,000 grams (3 places) = 15,000,000 mg (3 more places). Does that make sense to you?
If you are converting larger kilograms to smaller grams you move the decimal to the right. Think of 1 kg as a large block and 1 milligram as a small block. So you are moving from larger to smaller when converting Kg to mg.
I love it!! Thank you so much for making this so easy for me and my sister. We were struggling for school and you did an amazing job explaining it. Thumbs up from us!!
Thank you so so much! This helped me more than you know. I haven't done these since high school I really needed the refresher.
This is wrong, 1 G = 1000 Mg hope it helps
Best teaching I’ve seen !!!!

I’m so glad it helped you Deseree
for anyone still watching, she messed up saying that 1g=.001 mg. she was supposed to move her dots to the right so 1g=1000mg
Hi Alex. I put an edit into the video so as not to confuse anyone. It’s a white correction box that pops up during the video. Sorry for any confusion.
I corrected the error in the video. I inserted a text box with the information.
Your 1g = .001 mg is incorrect. You said .001mg = 1g. It is 1000mg = 1 gram. This is going to confuse people.
Yes- sorry! 1gram= 1000mg .001 gram = 1 mg
At 4.15 in yellow I moved the decimal in the wrong direction and it should be 1 gram --> 1000 mg
Thanks for pointing that out!

Thankyou. The visual helped a lot

Hi, I am doing drug calculations. How would you equal mg to grams?
62.5 mg per 2ml is available on hand. Doctor prescribed 0.025 g..Can you please explain this conversion please.
This is how I would do that calculation:
First convert grams to milligrams
0.025 grams --> move the decimal place 3 spaces to the right --> 25 mg
0.025 grams= 25 mg
So, the doctor ordered 25 mg of medication
Then:
Dose ordered/Dose on hand X Volume of medication = mL
25 mg/62.5 mg X 2 mL
25 X 2 = 50
50/62.5 = 0.8 mL
There are many ways to do this. I prefer to tell my students to multiply dose ordered X volume and then divide by the dose on hand.
Remember: The dose on hand and the dose ordered with always be the same (mg-mg) and the volume will always be the same as the answer (mL-mL)
Not always easy to explain when written out online, but I hope this helps you.
HI, what ab go further, from microgram to nanogram and to picogram, can u show us pls?
Do you need this for nursing? Typically nanogram are not used for dosage calclulations.
Caren Kaziyev unfortunately we have a crazy teacher in drug calculation who ask every single thinks so yes u need it!
Did your instructor say you should know that for the NCLEX in your state?
Caren Kaziyev yes. Can u believe that
just tell me one thing.. pound is big than kg or is it small of all??
When it comes to pounds and kg: There are 2.2 pounds for each kilogram, making kilograms bigger. If someone weighs 150 lbs (pounds) they will only weigh 68.18 kg. In other words, divide 150/2.2 = 68.18
Maham Anaya you can y
Maham Anaya uyu
Love this thank you!!
Nice thank you so much 😊
1. 2 hg to kg?
2. 3.8mg to kg
3. 21 dag to kg
4. 1.5dg to kg?
Hectograms and decagrams are not used for medication dosages. Is this for nursing?
nope, you need to use a number line but replace the line with gram units
Hi MattDoes MC. These are your conversions:
2 hg = .2 kg
3.8 mg = 0.0000038 kg
21 decagram = 0.21 kg
1.5 dg = 0.015 kg
Caren Kaziyev thanks soo much! i got a perfect score!
Memerlukan lebih ramai orang jadi sebarkan video ini lebih banyak
It was a mistake, tongue slip?
I thought zero's don't lead or follow.
Hi PPPV: 0.1 but never 0.10
Thankyou was so helpful
useful for maths formula and hard math
Really it needs in our exam
? HOW ? convert 15 kg to mg
+hmood ska Easy! Move the decimal point 6 places to the right. 15 kg= 15,000 grams (3 places) = 15,000,000 mg (3 more places). Does that make sense to you?
Caren Kaziyev From small to large? right or not.
If you are converting larger kilograms to smaller grams you move the decimal to the right. Think of 1 kg as a large block and 1 milligram as a small block. So you are moving from larger to smaller when converting Kg to mg.
Caren Kaziyev Thank you very much
wrong, 1mcg is .001mg and 1mg is .001g, 1g is .001kg

Hello
Thank you so much!
You’re welcome.Good luck!
Super I'm learn now only
gracias/thank you
Ty
thanks mam
perfect!
I learned that in 4th grade
Delete the video and post it correctly it confused me. 1g doesn’t = 0.001 mg
Not clearer, more confused!
ACCIDENTLY went on this video
You totally confused me with the error of mcg to g. This video needs to be taken down!
Please take this video down. You made an error that will confuse people
very confusing video
delete this video, you have made a mistake in your calculation and not even informing people.
