@@magilla2282 I agree, we should campaign to shut them down! We fans are the critics, and we decide whether a movie or TV is is good or not! Let's shut down Rotton Tomatoes!
Rotten Tomatoes is not the standard for movie reviews. I don't know why people think it is. It's just a bunch of yuppies who grew up in political households who also probably flunked out of film school and think they understand movies better than the average person.
It's proof that the motorcycle accident isn't the reason why he's crazy in real life as he's fully capable of playing a sane human being in this film lol.
I love how John Candy, the radio play-by-play caller, is just cheering his ass off in the middle of the third base runner’s sprint to home. If I’m listening on the radio I have no idea what the hell is going on.
Honestly if you listen to radio broadcast, especially older ones, there’s a 50% chance they’re just screaming on this okay too lol, we’ve come a long way
The way Chet looks around when he hears the audience cheering "Rocket! Rocket!" The expression on his face is like he's thinking that it's been a long time since he heard the fans cheering him on like that.
Listen it is an all time gutsy play by Steadman but the play is just typical Mets. 2 outs the runner on third should've been off with contact. Instead both the runner and third base coach freeze up. Then he just breaks for home...just a bone headed play which cost the Mets a pennant.

I saw from another comment that some of this movie's plot was based on an accident Gary Busey had with his arm. Can someone explain to me what happened?
This movie has a score of 35 on Rotton Tomatoes, why didn't people like it? It's a great movie!!
Rotten tomatoes are exactly what there name says. They are rotten and their opinions need to be thrown away.

Considering what Gary Busey had to endure after his motorcycle accident in 1988 I think his acting in this movie was extraordinary.

@@ElAssoWipe-o I think his capacity and ability to perform and work as an actor has not been affected, he is very talented.

How did they win the World Series after this without their 2 best pitchers?
That is purely open to interpretation since we don't know. The movie never explains that part.
The guitar riff is what makes this work
Best guitar riff in the history of mankind
I used to rewind this scene just to hear the guitar parts.
For some reason, the broken bat works for me as well.
Specifically, when the guitar riff hits that fucking whammy Bar when Chet tries to throw after he turned his shoulder into melted spaghetti
Even in film, the Mets choke at the worst times.
Mets, Knicks, same thing.
And that’s just really sad
Looks like he was safe, good thing no replay review in the 90s
He out out out look on 0.25 speed
He was out
Glad you’re not an ump if you think that was safe…. Even at full speed it ain’t even close
Having played professional baseball and knowing everybody has that moment where they know their time is up, this scene makes me very emotional.
Dude that gnarly guitar
90s bro
The Mets baserunning was terrible in this movie.
Agreed, runner on third should have stayed put
Given the Cubs history prior to 2016, Chet would have face-planted and the game would have been tied if this were real life instead of a movie
Lol it would be just like the cubs

Moments like these never happen in MLB in real life
They don’t make em like this anymore.
The Rocket went out in a beautiful way
So funny that he had that nickname considering that this movie came out when Clemens was in his prime
Great to hang in to the end, Chet!😆
Did you know he' s also known as Phil Cassidy in the Gta Vice City Series
@@rickyvalentine5779 I didn’t know that.
That wasn’t the last play.
Little big league 1993 it’s a sport movie from 20th century Columbia.
Me at home walking around and stubbing my toe (guitar starts wailing)
Chet put his ass on the line for the team
for the love of everything what is this song???
Darude Sandstorm
Try finding out who composed the music for the movie. I'm sure you can find it.

Wish I had guitar solos after I throw out my arm…

I absolutely love this movie scene

The guy at 0:03 looks like my middle school gym teacher. This movie came out when I was in middle school and I almost thought it was him.

Aún veo esta escena; y me emociono como si fuera en vivo el partido
0:25 I need to find that part of the music.
Still pissed that this movie made the Mets lose

Yes get him
Baseball ⚾
So he couldn't have tossed it with his left hand? 😂
Bit far for a shovel pass
Ever since his accident Garys been surviving off his "have to"...
