I feel like the refs set up the outcome of this particular matchup. That's why Portman and Gaffney were punished unfairly and got thrown out of the game, while Sanderson only got 2 minutes for almost taking Banks' arm off with his stick.

@vypernight They were both equally considered attempt to injure. Banks was even much worse as he actually did get severely injured and had to miss play whereas the iceland players didn't get a scratch on them.
J Ygb Gordon Bombay went on a date with Iceland's trainer and they got ice cream together. The former told her a lot which is why the Icelanders had such an advantage here.

Things happen for a reason. If Banks didn't get his arm smashed, then Russ Tyler wouldn't have stepped in during the rematch. The Ducks would have lost the rematch because they wouldn't have Russ Tyler to use the knucklepuck to tie the game.
