This was released July 7th, 1993. Was born in late 1993 after this was filmed and i used to carry around this VHS tape religiously like a dog with his favorite toy. Man take me back to good ol days. Favorite movie all time.
If crossing-over does not occur, the homologous chromosomes, following the breakage of the synaptinemal complex, which are the microprotein structures that hold the homologous chromosomes together, and after its breakage the homologues begin to distance themselves and if it were not for the chiasmata (the place where crossing-over took place) the homologues would have separated incorrectly, and infertile and non-viable gametes would have been generated, because they would have suffered from anueploidy, because more chromosomes would have ended up in a daughter cell and in the another less.If crossing-over does not occur, the homologous chromosomes, following the breakage of the synaptinemal complex, which are the microprotein structures that hold the homologous chromosomes together, and after its breakage the homologues begin to distance themselves and if it were not for the chiasmata (the place where crossing-over took place) the homologues would have separated incorrectly, and infertile and non-viable gametes would have been generated, because they would have suffered from anueploidy, because more chromosomes would have ended up in a daughter cell and in the another less.
Furthermore, if crossing over did not occur, genetic variability would be seriously reduced, because we would inherit the same allelic combination that our parents had inherited from our grandparents, and there would be no variability (also because the variability that generates crossing over is even greater than that of the independent assortment of chromosomes, during metaphase one, because crossing-over generates new combinations of alleles, and is the method for us eukaryotic cells to survive environmental variations and can activate natural selection).Furthermore, if crossing over did not occur, genetic variability would be seriously reduced, because we would inherit the same allelic combination that our parents had inherited from our grandparents, and there would be no variability (also because the variability that generates crossing over is even greater than that of the independent assortment of chromosomes, during metaphase one, because crossing-over generates new combinations of alleles, and is the method for us eukaryotic cells to survive environmental variations and can activate natural selection).

Listen it is an all time gutsy play by Steadman but the play is just typical Mets. 2 outs the runner on third should've been off with contact. Instead both the runner and third base coach freeze up. Then he just breaks for home...just a bone headed play which cost the Mets a pennant.
The way Chet looks around when he hears the audience cheering "Rocket! Rocket!" The expression on his face is like he's thinking that it's been a long time since he heard the fans cheering him on like that.

I saw from another comment that some of this movie's plot was based on an accident Gary Busey had with his arm. Can someone explain to me what happened?
It's proof that the motorcycle accident isn't the reason why he's crazy in real life as he's fully capable of playing a sane human being in this film lol.
@@magilla2282 I agree, we should campaign to shut them down! We fans are the critics, and we decide whether a movie or TV is is good or not! Let's shut down Rotton Tomatoes!
Rotten Tomatoes is not the standard for movie reviews. I don't know why people think it is. It's just a bunch of yuppies who grew up in political households who also probably flunked out of film school and think they understand movies better than the average person.
I love how John Candy, the radio play-by-play caller, is just cheering his ass off in the middle of the third base runner’s sprint to home. If I’m listening on the radio I have no idea what the hell is going on.
Honestly if you listen to radio broadcast, especially older ones, there’s a 50% chance they’re just screaming on this okay too lol, we’ve come a long way

The music has no business being this good.
I love how the riff of the guitar sounds off whenever Chet tries to throw the ball.
I absolutely love this movie scene

1:26 YOU’RE OUT!
No other decade even comes close to comparing with 90's Sports movies! That was the best time!

0:25 I need to find that part of the music.
Having played professional baseball and knowing everybody has that moment where they know their time is up, this scene makes me very emotional.
You’d be lying if you didn’t slow-mo cheer with everyone else as a kid
Ever since his accident Garys been surviving off his "have to"...

Wish I had guitar solos after I throw out my arm…
They don’t make em like this anymore.
The guy at 0:03 looks like my middle school gym teacher. This movie came out when I was in middle school and I almost thought it was him.

Chet put his ass on the line for the team
Still pissed that this movie made the Mets lose
So he couldn't have tossed it with his left hand? 😂
Bit far for a shovel pass
How did they win the World Series after this without their 2 best pitchers?
That is purely open to interpretation since we don't know. The movie never explains that part.
The Mets baserunning was terrible in this movie.
Agreed, runner on third should have stayed put

Considering what Gary Busey had to endure after his motorcycle accident in 1988 I think his acting in this movie was extraordinary.

This movie has a score of 35 on Rotton Tomatoes, why didn't people like it? It's a great movie!!
Rotten tomatoes are exactly what there name says. They are rotten and their opinions need to be thrown away.

Mets, Knicks, same thing.
And that’s just really sad
