How to Fix iTunes “Backup Now” Greyed out on Windows/Mac? iTunes Back Up Now Button Greyed Out FIX

- iTunes backup now button is grayed out? iTunes backup now button is not working? In this video, I showed you how to solve this annoying problem.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:23 - Restarting iTunes and even restarting the full computer often fixed iTunes gray backup now button. Before doing anything complicated I strongly recommend you to restart your computer or at least the iTunes
00:51 - Close iTunes. Run CMD as administrator. Then copy paste undermentioned code in to CMD. Hit enter. Once done start iTunes again. Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer. Then click on device icon. Let’s check whether iTunes backup now button is now showing as active or not.
Mac OS X users need to open Terminal and enter the command given below. Before opening Terminal and running given command, you should close iTunes. Once the command is executed you can start iTunes again and check whether backup now button is fixed or not.
1:32 - In my case I solved my greyed-out iTunes backup now button simply updating my iTunes. To update iTunes, go to Help. Then Check for updates. Then follow other steps to update your iTunes.
The first and last methods will work in Windows, Linux and Mac computers. The second method is only intended to windows users.
Good thing is, you can easily fix the backup now button greyed out problem by following any of these three methods.

defaults delete com.apple.iTunes DeviceBackupsDisabled

Ok, so this I learned. The Microsoft Store version of iTunes and the Apple version are not equivalent. Totally remove all Apple itunes related software. Restart. Install the Apple download, it will load the app into the directory the command code here can effect. THEN use the command code. Walah. You will not be able to use the advice from this video if you download iTunes from the Microsoft Store. Hours into this situation, I believe I finally have fixed my issue.
Well I learned from you too.. I didn’t know iTunes from MS store is different than the Apple website one! But did you check the version number? Sometimes MS Store, Ubuntu Software store etc. installs a bit old version. It can be a version mismatch problem too..
Jeffrey, you are the man! I had the same issue. I had installed Apple iTunes but every time i connect my device it would lock up the iTunes. So i uninstalled and then installed the Windows version and it seems like it is working great now. i backed up both my iphone and iPad flawless. Thank you.

OK guys, none of this worked for me but I finally found the answer to this for me. If you are using Malwarebytes, open it up and if ransomware protection is turned on then just slide the bar to off. You don't even have to close iTunes. Once you do this look at iTunes and it should no longer be greyed out. The Sync bar showed as one yellow line, once I turned off ransomware it showed the different colors properly showing the differences between audio, apps and documents and data percentages. GL!

The second method 'cmd - command' worked like a charm. A big thumbs up bro, thank you so much. I've been trying to resolve this issue for a long time and I even gave up at some point. But your video helped me a lot. Just one thing, the " sign is missing at the start before the % sign in the CMD COMMAND for the windows users, update it please, or otherwise people will copy paste the same line and will say "doesn't work, this sucks, no help bro".

Sir, I wonder if you can please help. The Command Line is not working for me. I have a new computer and itunes is not stored in my Program Files but rather in some obscure folder my computer won't even give me access to. c:\Users\fortitude\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AppleInc.iTunes_nzyj5cx40ttqa\iTunes.exe
So I get an error when I try your command line.
Please help. I can only assume other computer users today have the same issue.
