Thanks so much for this informative video, the Bae 146 is still my favourite aircraft to this day as I used to see it on a daily bases operating in and out of LCY. Shame a lot of airlines retired the type though....😢

You're very welcome! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the video and that the BAe 146 is still your favorite aircraft. It can be bittersweet to see aircraft retire, especially when they hold a special place in our hearts. The BAe 146 was a welcome highlight for me when I had to be on the top floor of the hospital in Bern as a child. It always put a smile on my face and lifted my spirits in those difficult times. No wonder why it is my favorite plane.

That's a great anecdote! Your brother's response definitely sums up the unique design of the BAe 146 perfectly. This aircraft type is often used for operations into airports with challenging terrain or shorter runways! ✈️🛫

    Hi Matt
Nice to see you and your new colleague Michelle in the video. Thank you for your presentation.
I scroledl through the comments expecting to see the word Jumbolino, but no one seems to have mentioned it’s nickname.!!
Thanks for doing this, I really enjoyed it. And I know you did too because of our previous conversations about the 146, I remember about you being sick in hospital and hearing the plane going in and out. No doubt you remember me telling you about me seeing Prince Philip getting out of one good few years back now.
Those qualities of being able to use short runways and the extra redundancy make them a perfect fit for VIPs, including the Royal Flight.
I was wondering about its range and it’s flying ceiling and top speed and how that would compare to a modern business jet.
    Does it still compete ?
    Even after all this time?
I just wanted to know in case I inherit a few million and need to make a decision 😄
It might not be as sleek and shiny, but the Bae146 has got so much character I really like it.

      Hi Chris
Thank you so much for your kind words, it's great to hear that you still have a soft spot for the BAe 146. While it remains a classic, it's true that newer business jets have surpassed it in terms of performance and efficiency. With their advanced engines, they consume less fuel and are more powerful, making them a more attractive option in today's market. Nonetheless, we can still appreciate the BAe 146 for its legacy and contributions to aviation.

Interesting. I’ve flown in so many of these: the first time, I think, was Dan-Air to Belp. Joint worst flights were Air UK LGW-EDI, when the plane stank of vomit, and BA LGW-ZRH in a terrible six-abreast configuration. An interesting feature is the geared fan of the engine; a configuration that is gaining in popularity again. By the way, I much preferred this format to that of your Piaggio and Saab 2000 pieces: both excellent, but spoiled by the computer generated commentary.
