21 minutes long, omg, YAY! 😄 Last time I watched with my husband and he saw that Solo was helping meal prep, and I told him how much I have learned from you about meal prep, going to the store less often, mealplanning, etc. and he said: We could totally do this once a week if you want, I could help too! ♥️♥️♥️ It was soooo sweet. We are only a family of 4 so I only plan so that we have 2-3 meals ahead but these videos give me some great ideas and inspiration!

One night I told mine they could eat whatever they could find for dinner while I had cheese and crackers for dinner (cooking three meals a day during this quarantine had taken its toll). I walked back in to the kitchen, and the six year old was dipping a ring pop in to a puddle of syrup. I stood there a minute, said “carry on” and walked back to my charcuterie board. Granola seems like a healthy and filling meal to me!

So excited to see you make the "Fluffy German Pancake"! Here in Sweden we just call it "oven pancake" :) A common variation is to have bacon in it (you simply lay out uncooked strips of bacon in the melted butter and then pour the batter on top and it cooks at the same time) which makes for a quick savoury meal. Or you add apples and cinnamon to make it more like a dessert, or leeks, broccoli and cheese to keep it healthy-ish... It works nicely with healthier flours as well. One it is made you can cut slices and freeze them, or eat the leftover bits cold from the fridge. When I was a kid that was my favourite haha, cold left over "oven pancake" with strawberry jam on top!

When I have big thick chicken breast, I slice them in half because we prefer a thin piece of meat and it makes the chicken breast go twice as far. It cooks much quicker on the grill this way also. I just got done making chicken for the freezer. I got this idea from the Pioneer Woman. Season (and cut thin. My idea) bake on 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. Then cool completely and put in gallon size zip lock bags. I can get about 4 peices per bag and have enough room to avoid sticking together when frozen.Or you can flash freeze on cookie sheets so they wont stick together. Store in large freezer bags. Then keep a bag in the fridge to eat for lunches or dinner and freeze the rest to use later. When we reheat them I usually warm them up in the oven.

Literally you just cut pieces of chicken, lay them on a pan, put your choice of salsa on top, and cheese on top and bake at 425 for 40 minutes. It’s so good! Pro tips - read this - Oh yay! You made our go to holiday breakfast everyone at my husbands family’s house asks me to make! We call the puffy pancakes, popeye pancakes because it kind of looks like an eye when it’s inflated I guess. We have done them with wheat flour, 1C wheat flour, 1 C Milk, and 5-6 eggs. I’ve also doubled it, but when I double it in a 9x13 lower temp 15 degrees and double the time. We also use the powdered sugar and then cut orange slices to squeeze the juice over the powdered sugar, no syrup. It turns it into a citrus glaze and is delicious and get eat the oranges out of the peel after squeezing them over. I’ve also made half and 1/4 a batch because my husband asks for these every Sunday now. I like the just for holidays. Oh and mix the ingredients in a blender not a mixer.

Breakfast idea-Breakfast burritos: 1# Jimmy Dean ground sausage-browned-1 32 oz bag frozen potatoes O’Brien cooked (or) cubed breakfast potatoes-1dozen eggs cooked with salt & pepper -serve on soft tortillas..top with cheese, salsa & sour cream 😋 This amount makes about 8-10 servings. I make it all in one large skillet or use an electric skillet. Freezes well too! You can make your burritos and individually wrap or just heat up the meat mixture when ready to eat and make it then.

I learned to make German pancakes in home ec class. It was 3 eggs, 1/2 c milk, 1/2 c flour, salt and pour over the 2 tbsp melted butter in a pie plate. The only difference between German pancakes and Yorkshire pudding is adding one egg! I didnt know that for years until I watched Nigella Lawson on tv.

My Mother made the puffy pancakes when we were kids, she called them Dutch Baby Pancakes.
She baked them in a cast iron skillet. But she would fill them with fresh fruit. Strawberries, blueberries, peaches, bananas..... whichever fruit you have handy. You can also add a spoon of vanilla yogurt, whipped cream, or a dollar of sour cream.

I sure hope everyone allows the advertisements to run as they watch. This is how the channel supports your family and it is just enough time to grab a fresh, cold water. I tend to open mail, check email in another window. I always let then just run. You can pause as well so let them run! You know you need Our Tribe of Many to keep posting!!!

Now I am hungry.. I love to watch Your wonderful family. And I love to see the Kenyan food You make. Thanks for all joy You are bringing!

We call the baked puffy pancake a Dutch Baby. I put a bit of vanilla & nutmeg in ours. My mom made them when I was little. She topped it with homemade applesauce, or lemon juice and powdered sugar. I've also made fresh berry compote, caramelized bananas, homemade preserves, and fresh whipped cream as toppings. Very versatile.

Those “German” pancakes in the UK are called Yorkshire Puddings and we generally have them with a roast dinner or toad in the hole (where you bake Sausages in with the batter)
You got a lot done !
