For someone considering the switch to an iPad based set-up this was the perfect introduction to what its ACTUALLY like. Thank you so much. Loved that you showed the upds AND downs of the workflow.
I strongly believe that what GarageBand iOS needs is the ability to add your own drum one shots to an empty drummer pad to create your own drum kits within GarageBand, also add more plugin slots and a master channel... They already have the ability to use Inter app plugins, why not add something that can make the app better. Even if it means making it an in-app purchase, I’m down to paying the in-app... GarageBand is super easy and it can become the leading app if they just add the features most people are asking for.
Your videos are what finally got me to make beats. Two years later I still haven’t put anything out, but I’ve already created more music then I ever thought I could. Thanks for all your videos man, they inspired me for sure.

With how much an iPad Pro costs, I wish there was a more robust and less janky way to produce and record music without all of these workarounds and having to jump through hoops to make a song. It’s still amazing that we can get ideas started with really powerful sounds and apps and I commend you Henny for your talent and beat skills. I just don’t see how they can’t just create the regular DAW programs (as lite or se versions) instead of what feels like beat making video games. Come on developers!! Blow our minds!! I know I’ll get flack for this comment and I promise I’m not trolling, but it’s just my 2 cents. Great video and job as always Henny!
This pandemic is terrible but I bet that creativity soared and tons of songs emerged. We are forced to just chill and create with not much interruption. Sorry if I mentioned it before but I have fun using 2 iPads or an iPhone and iPad or 2 iPhones using MIDIfire running on both to send midi back and forth or forth and back via Bluetooth. It's cool because one iOS device can specialize in sequencing and the other as a sound module. Yippee!!!

There seems to be some problems with syncing apps via Ableton Link after the latest iOS upgrade. I find the iPad less and less reliable in music making. Can you address the actual challenges and problems in a video?

I'm a video editor and when it comes to music needed for my videos, I will create stuff from stratch sometimes and I have some of the apps you are using. One app that I use for mixing is Algoriddim Djay. I can mix my music just like a DJ and record it.
Man I have to try this workflow im stuck on bouncing my loops into Korg gadget. I love putting the beats together in there even tho its a weird workflow. I literally purchased all of the content on that app.

Get some guys put the ideas down on a cassette Rhythm section and take it to the studio and drop the track on a 2 inch and build it from there , Then we had 8 Trak 1 inch for Home use And then cassette fore track For demos every hit I ever wrote was done to a cassette singing it down playing a guitar or bass or keyboard You can do fallout hits on these iPads now Over the years I’ve owned a lot of things like 2 inches eight tracks ProTools G4 G5 I’m in my 60s now a hit is a hit no matter what you write it on and to me you can do that on his iPad if they take the iPad Pro Open it up for logic and put about 12 Gigs of memory in two more processor cores It’s on
Hey man check out the USB-C headphone adapter. I use that with my Audio-Technica headphones to listen to my beats on my iPad Pro. I hated how Cubasis 3 would downgrade the audio quality so that’s what I’m using. I know you can adjust the audio quality but I hated having to do that every time

hey man! ur beats sound good. I make all my beats on GB too. I upload all my beats to google drive before I upload to YT so I was wondering if u knew how to get past google drive compression because sometimes the compression makes my beats muddy.

What i was trying to get at with my comment was the idea that maybe if they had more resources they could put out updates faster. But who knows, i have no idea how they run things over there or what kind of issues they run into developing.

Did you ever consider using WaveMachineLabs Auria.? The pro version is apparently buggy at the moment but according to a reliable music mag the basic version is not affected by the same issues.

Eric Woodson BM3 is the daw for MPC heads. Samplr is kingly among iOS sampler solutions. AUM is what I use the most. I love the simple layout and easy of routing. If I need to record a whole band’s EP or something, I’d go for Cubasis or Auria or GB, get more of the nouveau-standard DAW left-to-right multitrack thing going on. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I am far more a musician (read instrument player) than a studio dawg, tweaking routing and yada yada. I just wanna play. Most of the time, hitting record is too much work so I need a simple interface that feels like an instrument to get things done (for me!).
I use garageband...beathawk...and impc as like sketch pads and then from there either BM3 or cubasis...i tried using audiobus3 and AUM but i cant wrap my head around the workflow 🙄 dope content as always 🙏🏾

The amount of high-quality content like plug-ins, loops and samples you get with Logic Pro for the very small price tag is frankly amazing.

I make sure playing in the background is enabled and use Ableton Link to sync Blocs with other apps.

iMaschine 2 fills a nice gap as a scratchpad, especially for drums, but GB is ridiculously awesome for springboarding ideas like you did here...

Whatever happened to BeatMaker 3 for you? Seems like you could do both those workflows in BM3 just as well right? Or is it missing something to make that work?
