can you make a video on how to track something if the size of the green screen increases, so should your picture or whatever you inserted inside as well as the movement. I got the movement down but the image wont resize ina ccordance with the video.

I've been using Davinci Studio for about a year now. Just created an entirely different approach...... I simply watch one of your videos (and maybe a short or two) every day, and then use what I learn in a practical application for a current project, a re-edit from a past video, or use it as creative inspiration for something I never thought of. I can't thank you enough for your style of practical instruction that feels more like just hanging out with buddy and kicking around ideas. I just turned 64, and want to be just like you when I grow up. 😎 ✌️

Also, as a fellow guitar player, I love the analogies you use to explain how the nodes (effects pedals) of a fusion composition connect together, and how they alter the output (the sound coming out of the amplifier). Dude. You rock 🤘🏽 Another stellar content! 💖
Re: the strange names and terminologies that seemed to have ticked you off a bit 😂 (planar, translation, transform, etc.), just want to point out that these are actual image processing and computer vision terms that means something precisely specific. Planar means a 2D space (image data), translation simply means the motion of an image is left-right/up-down but not rotational which could involve angular shift (like the manual angle change you did at the beginning). So if the laptop in Santa's hand were to also rotate, then the planar translation alone wouldn't have done the job. Just thought I'd point that out. Keep up the good work!
And it's mind boggling to me as an engineer that so much advanced computer vision techniques are available with a few clicks in Davinci! This tool is way underpriced even at its full price!

This is such a good video for a beginner to DR like me. I now know how to chroma key (delta keyer) and how to (planer track/transform). Additionally, I have a better understanding of how to get around the fusion page and how I join timeline clips together to create a fusion clip. Oh, and I now know how to create a still from the edit page. I had been doing this via the colour page until now - your way is much easier. There is so much in this video that I can take away and practice in a way that I can relate to my projects. Your videos not only give practical advice but also provide inspiration. Please can we have more of this type of content (I appreciate the time you take to put all this together by the way). Thanks very much. Tim

Anything 'planar' describes the quality of being a plane. In geometry, a plane is a flat two-dimensional surface that extends in all directions to infinity. The laptop screen is such a plane, so Resolve has its 'planar tracker.'
Kicka$$ DaVinci for Noobs stuff, BTW. My first project was a 2-hr clip show. After an hour of your Noobs prods, I had all the knowledge I needed to rip out my own prod. Thanks!

      I know what planar means.

    Very good Daniel...
One advise: You dont need to stay around with the Planar Tracker after Planar transform is created. All we need the Planar transform node. Actually all we need a data set for the movement of the laptop which is already stored in planar transform. We can delete the tracker after creating the planar transform. Trust me, it won't affect anything plus relieves your computer from stress while compiling the video with effects.

What a great tutorial! If I may - they call it a Planar Tracker because it'll track a plane in your frame. I use this all the time to track my logo to something in the background [and then combine it with Magic Mask so it really feels like it's in the background and if I wave my hands around, they obscure the logo]. I know the names are weird and they don't all make sense - I just know THAT one :D
Also, I like how you show several ways to get things done [drag & drop in-line with the SHIFT key to add a node in-line, unlinking clips to easily select audio or video]. This is the neat thing - you're right, Resolve gives you a multitude of ways to get each thing done, all up to personal preference. I like to hold ALT when clicking on an audio or video clip to temporarily disconnect it from the other, which for me works faster than unlinking first.
Love it! Your teaching method could NOT be easier to follow - and I watch a lot of Resolve tutorials. Can't wait to see what you do a how-to on next :D

Such a wonderful teacher. Would love to know how you have OBS Studio setup, which I'm assuming you are using. I'm just not happy with the tutorials for it I keep running across by creators who don't even look at, let alone respond to comments. But you are obviously busy doing fantastic content on Resolve, so no hurry.

    • @Daniel_Batal
      @Daniel_Batal  Рік тому

      I don't use OBS.
I actually hate OBS because it's overly complicated and quickly becoming replaced with better paid options.
When it comes to screen capture, I mostly use Bandicam.
For live streaming, I use StreamYard.

Maybe to help you understand what they were thinking. The *Tracker* creates the motion data and the *Transform* applies the motion data. Planar refers to the 2D aspects of the object that you're dealing with.

This is awesome, thank you and yeah, I have not touched fusion because all the names are confusing, the process seems very sloppy, I hope to get it one day, but this is a great video, thank you, Damn Tracker/Transforms. Your peddle explanation was great too.

As one Daniel to another Daniel, coming from Avid & FCP, all you say makes sense. I'm about to purchase the Studio version to make the switch, but only wish to have the Davinci Resolve program on my hard drive and create a folder/folders on a portable drive to store everything else ie auto save, renders and anything else created by Resolve. Do you have a video explaining how to set all this up and if not, would you consider making one? Thanks for all your videos and your assistance with this matter. Also, how do you set up Studio to utilize greater GPU's for enhanced speed. With great appreciation for your advice . . . Happy New Year!

      I don’t but that’s a good suggestion.
Instead of saving a project externally, you can “Archive” it externally instead.
That will save the entire project with all the assets and settings as a simple .dra (DaVinci Resolve Archive) file type
