I'm currently working at a semi-trailer sales, service, leasing company and I can honestly say EVERYONE needs to thoroughly inspect any trailer before signing the paperwork. We constantly get trailers straight from the factories that we spend thousands of dollars fixing and correcting so we can sleep at night before selling to customers. You would think a BRAND NEW trailer being picked up at the FACTORY would go through some sort of once-over but you would be wrong. If you're not a mechanic, pay one to check over any trailer, even ones that are brand new! You'd be surprised and disappointed by what is wrong with brand new trailers at every level.
I welded bumper pull and gooseneck dump trailers at Big Tex here in Madill, Oklahoma. Just saying I wouldn’t spend my hard earned money on a big Tex trailer. Around here popular are Big Tex, PJ, WW, CM, S&H to name a few. People nicknamed these big Tex trailers “big flex” lol. There’s stories of a few come in less than a year old or brand new broke in half or tongue snapped off. Some even apparently weren’t loaded to full capacity. The true is any large manufacturer cares about numbers and not quality. I have heard good things about double diamonds or something like that and Texas pride.
they could ove weighed the truck and then subtracted the weight of the truck from the total weight to find the trailer weight and you wouldn’t ove had to jack the trailer off the truck every time
After watching this video I see that the trailer I bought from them has bent a little bit probably in the same area And it’s a triple axle 2’x7’x20’ gooseneck 9k each axle and the welds in side the bed are already breaking 3” welds don’t hold up they should have done 6-8 “ bead Welds
Wow I’m very impressed and surprised I cannot believe y’all put that video showing the capabilities of the different systems knowing the possibilities of damaging them looking for a dump trailer right now that’s a very convincing reason to buy a Texas pride trailer I do not have fifth wheel capability and I’m going to need one before the end of the year so I’m not gonna bother to enter the giveaway you were going to make three people very happy
The telescopic dump system is how most lumber yards and gravel flat bed dump trucks used to be. I was dumping for Payless castaways in 95 in San Angelo and I used to own a 70 C50 with C60 springs I was the 3rd owner loved that truck, I miss it. :). I used to work for a guy at one time used to step the wings off of aeronautical vehicles. I understand the engineers glee.
powerram92 had a lowboy and a flatbed. The lowboy was a good trailer but too small for me. The flatbed was the absolute best trailer I have ever pulled. I still haul for Texas Pride, good company to do business with so far.
Wow these trailers are incredible!... What an amazing test to see!... I would have to say your company has the best quality in the industry... Question for you in regards to the one trailer that got a bent frame... What are you going to do with that one? 🤔
@@AllAboutTrailers awesome that is what I was thinking was going to be done!... I did enter a video for the giveaway contest, so hopefully you did receive it... One of your trailers would be a huge unbelievable blessing to me and my family, as described in the video I submitted... God bless and it makes me happy to see a company do things like this for others!
We own a trailer dealership and almost all manufactures do not properly paint these trailers you have to blast wash and then primer with top coat also most trailers axles are to light for the frame size
Do you have any video of the dual cylinder trailer dumping? I’m looking to buy a 18 ft dump but they only make it in a dual cylinder and I’m worried about it not being strong though and me accidentally overloading the dual cylinder. I would much rather the front cylinder but i need an 18 foot. Thank you.
Well hell!! With the telescopic. If you had pulled up a little so the back of the trailer wasn’t resting on a pile of rock it would have went on up. I guarantee it.
You loaded the first trailer to the point that it cannot dump the box. You called that the max. If it cant dump, you are over the max of what the trailer can deal with. Right?
So if you are renting one of these trailers to someone moving gravel how would they know what the weight is of the gravel being loaded? We know the GVWR limit of the trailer but not the load unless you drive to landfill and weight once there risking that it breaks or get a ticket on way there. D.O.T. do have mobile scales to weight the load.
Texas Pride wanted to widen the contest to more people, so they wanted to open up the contest to our viewers as well. Thanks for making time to hit us up and watch our videos!
You should consider explaining to your fans. These is extremely illegal and if your go on the road you will be going to jail. That trailer alone will require a Class A lic in the state to even hook it to a F150 and move it.
You won’t be going to jail unless involved in a fatal accident. Yes requires cdl. If weighed by dot you could be slapped with a 15k fine for being over that much but you can get that dropped to almost nothing.
@@shortthrow50 The federal penalty violating CDL requirements is a civil penalty of $2,500. In aggravated cases, a person can be fined up to $5,000 and serve 3 months to 1 year in jail. Employers who knowingly allow unlicensed or improperly licensed drivers to operate a CMV can be subject to a $25,000 fine
The engineer was using flags to flag him through. That's the dumbest thing I saw in video. Common sense is gone..... lol Surprisingly they didn't want to crawl under dump box and grease it then :)
I don't know, but I'm thinkin that is half of a semi load. Doesn't make sense unless you were doin it for a New trailer to jam that much in your own trailer.
We have a texas pride 16k gvwr telescopic and have found that the single ram is only strong in the first stage, no power in the second and first stage is too short to get much out of the bed. , No need to put 40k on it, it wont lift 8k if it is loaded front heavy. We were pretty disappointed.
Let's put it to the real test bring it to Florida after the hurricane we just had and let's work it hauling hurricane debris for a six months.. And see how it holds up most of the ones I'm seeing at landfills are falling apart some self inflicted some just cheaply made that's what I would do with it make enough money and go get me a bigger one LOL no more pulling debris off a flatbed with a damn chain in a poll looks like a great trailer
Yeah Awesome Huh! Brand new shit fucked it up this is why we have legal weight laws . I’ve compacked load of garbage in to the trash truck I worked on that’s awesome I thought the frame was going to pop BOOM! Yeah a 14 ton load when CHP only lets you carry only 9-10 tons per load . I drove a Front Loader for 29 years
We wanted to get an accurate reading every time, but with the last trailer we ended up doing that. Could have shortened the process by doing that for all three, but we live and learn lol. Thanks for watching!
Would have been a much better test using the same weight on all tests and showing dump cycle time. Over Loading the trailer that way really process nothing.
that son of a bitch weighed almost at much as a fully loaded semi truck....that is friggin insane. beef up that frame and youre damn near indesctructible. cant go down the road with a pile of gravel hanging over the top lol
You figured when you spend so much money on a trailer that they would have electric jacks big tex and I think big texts are a lot better manufactured trailers in my opinion.
The Scalehouse boys of the state/county DOT are salivating over this Overweight truck fine Bridge law fine No CDL fine GCVW (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight) fine. Then the scale cop starts nit picking. Checking brakes, lights, log book. DUI/OVI. Drug dog sniffer check. All this for a $500 load of gravel.
Meanwhile one year later after the new owners received their trailers they all crashed and died on the highway carrying 5000 pounds.. You can't see a lawsuit coming?
ITS a bad test to unload a trailer the way u did. Right way is to unload pull forward back up, put breaks on vehicle. The rock will slide out the trailer then the smaller cylinder will work. don't do it all in one load pushing the cylinders and the back of the trailer was sitting on top of pile of rock. So it is a bad test.
That's how you permanently damage the hydraulic system on a trailer. Shock loading by jamming the breaks on can cause serious damage to the ram and lift assembly.
Poor engineering if the trailers cant handle that weight the volume of it should be reduced. You do realize your still held liable if those axles brake on the highway because most people dont have a scale to weigh it. So overloading is too easy to do by accident. And since yall just proved it can be overloaded that just shows who ever engineered it needs to be fired because they are putting your business at risk of getting sued.

Not well at all !!!! Not a (painted) dump trailer on the planet that will last in salt, no matter how much the salesman tells you it will !
