Tiffany those cozies are great. I put a bowl in it and put it in the microwave and it makes it much easier than dealing with the hot bowl. I like your pattern.
You inspire me to sew. I love watching you and your hands are beautiful. Thank you for all you do. When I watch you I forget my problems and learn and enjoy every minute you are on. Thank you. Love and prayers. Sally
I like to make these and keep them to pass out to new neighbors. I live in a townhouse complex and some of the units are rentals so it’s a nice way to meet and welcome the new folks.
Hello. I had a busy day in my sewing room and now I get to watch your video. I just want you to know that I like your content. I hope you have a fabulous week ahead! Thanks for sharing!
It's my happy monday morning with Tiff !🤗 Beautiful work coming from two beautiful hands !🥰 I just wait to finish my working day and start to sew tonight on this funny project! Thanks Tiff !😻
I’ve just recently found your channel and I’m hooked, I’ve watched quite a few of your older videos and I just can’t get over what amazing sewing skills you have and your creativity is fabulous! I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s jumped straight onto Amazon and ordered a template lol. I’m very new to sewing and I’m hoping to improve my skills just by osmosis watching you 😂🪡🧵
Hi Tiffany. Just watched whole replay. They’re all so cute. Don’t have template, but maybe one day I’ll get one. They’re so cute, and don’t seem to take that long to make. Clever you. So inspirational as usual. Love from Brisbane. ❤️🇦🇺
Tiffany I love the material you chose. That worked up fast. I ordered a set of templates from Amazon a few weeks ago. It wasn't like the ruler materal, it was a thin plastic but it came in 3 sizes I think I'm going to like it! I could always put a bowl on the table sitting in it instead of on a hot pad and it would make it easy to pass around the table for serving!
Hey friend, I missed you on Sunday so here I am, a day late and a dollar short. Between being a caregiver and my arthritis I am moving rather slowly. I have that template and have made a couple of cozies but I don’t use them anymore as I usually have no ideas as to which drawer I have put them in. Lovely project but I don’t have any food fabric so I don’t think I will make any more.
I make as well as see a lot for sale at craft fairs, 90% of the are not food fabric, people want anything, or their favorite stuff, animal or whatever. In my area the best sellers are deer, moose, camo, red Sox and Patriots, also the Marlins for the snowbirds( those who go south for winter). It's a perfect use also for leftover fabric, each side different. Love to watch your videos. Just getting home from an eye appt, couldn't watch till today. Keep up what you do, love the way you teach us stuff.
🕊Even when using Wrap and Zap, you are guided to NOT microwave over three minutes at a time, when warming a bowl of food. I usually do 1 1/2 minutes at a time to be more careful, as I fear a fire starting. Love your tutorial as usual, Tiff 🦋
I didn’t know that scrim would cause problems in the microwave 😳😳 I’ve been using mine that I made for years now, with no problems and I have the same as you, large rolls of batting with scrim.
We don't put any fabric anything in the microwave here ever since Scott caught it on fire not knowing in the past haha 😆 😂 😅 But I am not sure how the Scrim on batting works 🤔 I just like to be safe and not microwave it 😉 Someday I will test it. But our new microwave needs to be a bit older before I take any chances 😄 🤣 😂
Hi Tiffany.... Just recently found your site. Like your lay back way! Think I will enjoy your projects and will do some sew alongs! We are going to be friends as I see we are neighbors! I am in Arizona also ... About 230 miles away from you! I live in Cordes Junction which is about 26 miles south of Prescott Valley. Oh.... I enjoyed watching you and Becca also! I'll have to write you with more personal stuff as I also have a lot of medical stuff going on. Take care.... Jeanie.
You can buy a whole bolt of wrap and zap which is 100% cotton with no skrim in it from Walmart and it's cheaper per yard than buying a package of it. The wrap and zap is made specifically for use in the microwave also for the potato bakers. I make a lot of them so I just recently found it by the bolt so I ordered one.
@@TiffanysQuiltingLife the first potato baker I was given by a dear oldwe friend who taught me a lot about quilting and it was 100% cotton batting but with skrim. I used it a LOT before I found out about skrim, which she didn't know about either, and had no trouble with it. May depend on the microwave and how long you put it in for.
Those are too cute!!! I have a cozy bowl set to do but I haven’t had the chance yet. Thank goodness for this tutorial so now I feel pretty confident that I can do this too. Love these. Mine are with Christmas fabrics. My daughter asked me if I could make her one of those plastic bag holders that you hang. They don’t look very difficult but I haven’t found a pattern for one yet. Etsy has a listing for a chicken plastic bag holder that I’m so tempted to snag but my girl said absolutely not on a chicken 🐓 bag holder. 🙄 No fun there. 😂😂😂 Have you done a plastic bag holder yet Tiffany??? Aware of any good patterns, besides that cute chicken? 🦋🦋🦋

I've found that if I leave the opening for turning along where the dart is works better for me. Makes it easier to close and it's not hard to get it to lay nice.
Just a suggestion.....I would like to see you have a giveaway for those of us who don't always get to watch you live. We feel left out but love to watch you. I enjoy all your comments and being a cat lover (we have 5 in our house....2 are mine and my husband's, the other 3 belong to our daughter and granddaughter who live with us. I had to put my old favorite cat to sleep a couple of months ago..she had cancer) so I love seeing your cat. I think it's wonderful that Scott helps you.
This video continues to demonstrate your superb teaching ability -- thank you so much for another very useful video! I'm thinking out loud -- and would love to have some feedback on this next part of the comment. What would happen if the "opening" for turning ws in the straight stotcjomg area with a "V" at the bottom of the opening -- would it be possible to avoid the "puckering" turning that and stitching in that area last ...... I am surprised that it wasn't necessary to clip the curves -- you have beautifully rounded edges without clipping. Mine never turn out that neatly rounded without clipping! Thank you for all your hard work.
You could turn at the V. As long as you re nest the seam at closing. I just think it was a clean closure at the rounded side. But both ways would work. Thank you for watching 😊

When I watch you inspire me to quilt. I just wish I had tge energy. I’m 81 and I get so frustrated when I make so many little mistakes.

Thanks for the upbeat talk.
Those are great. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.
Sunday is my after church “mindless” sewing day. Strings, HST, Scrappy 4-patches. No major pattern pieces.
That works 😊
Sound was just fine yesterday👍🏻

Well at least you used your template. I say when you do find your cozies just stack them in your bowl shelf that way you can find them 😊

I use a 60mm rotary cutter to cut around the template for the batting.
I love show Tami

Ahhh great idea if I continue to make more 😊 Right now I am just using up all my scrap batting, I have sooo much of it 😄 🤣 😂

I don't honestly know what a plastic bag holder is. But I will look into it. I hope ya have fun making some bowl cozies though 😊
Yes
For microwavable bowl cozy you need the wrap and zap batting from pellon. It is safe to use in the microwave it says.

I do live giveaways randomly. Big giveaways are done at big milestones. So you just gotta keep an eye out.
That's good. Someone else suggested that way earlier. I'll have to try 😊

What measurements would I use for the darts if I were not using the templates and doing the 11 inch squares? These are so cute :)
Off the top of my head I would say from center down 3" and like 1.5" out when folded in half
Wonder if a person could use a terrycloth towel or insulbrite batting in the bowl cozy’s
You could, but never microwave it. It would be more like a oven mit.
Yes i hear you😅
What is your trick to sewing without a header? Mine jams every time!
