I've made a ton of these without the pattern, but I'm tried of marking and guessing at the darts so I bought these rulers. I may not round all of the corners, but at least I can cut the darts and they will all be even! Great tutorial.
I had heard about the bowl cozy, of course, but had never seen one or it’s construction. Thank you for the tutorial! They look like an easy and fun gift to have on hand for the quintessential casual hostess gift. 🤩🤩🤩
You can do that if you like. To my understanding, people who are sewing the 'X' are using it as 'quilting' so the print fabric and batting can stay in place together. Since it's a small project, I personally don't think you necessarily need it, but it is a nice touch to do as well. ☺️

Glad I could help! 🤗

Yes! Lol they are a must have in our household 😜 (we use them all the time!)
I always quilt mine too. Thanks for the tutorial.
You are so welcome 🤗
Love a bowl cosy! Just perfect for ice cream! I like to use a hera marker for rounding out the seams -- just may be my favourite tool of the moment ❣
Awesome! I have no problem doing something once I am shown how to do it! Ty!
Same! I am more of a visual learner. 😁
Thank you. I need to learn in this area. 😊
thank you for showing us the bowl size i have been looking for a corelle bowl size cozy
I love Corelle bowls! Lol

I am so happy I found your channel. I too am a pre-cut lover so your videos are up my ally. Thank you for sharing
Thank you! 🤗
Very nice easy to understand! Thanks, Dee
I use the wooden end of a small paint brush. It works great.
To push out corners.
Thank you!
What is the other half of the ruler for?
Здорово 💯👍
Can I ask why cannot use basting spray?
This is the first tutorial I've seen that didn't sew an 'X' on both sides first. Can you share why you didn't need to do so.

Trying to find the pattern for bowl cozy
Do you wash your fabric first
No, I don't since I mostly use precuts. ☺️
Where did you get the hard ruler please?
Link is in the videos description ☺️
Are the measurements 11by 11?
Yes and the larger bowl cozy is a 16 x 16 fabric square. 😊
Thank you for sharing your video. Question i see some patterns only use 1 pc of batting. Is it better to use 2?
I think of using two battings instead of one would mean more insulation from the heat. But it's of course your preference. ☺️
@@MoonkinStitchery ok thank you
I was going to ask the same. I’ll try both ways. Thankyou. The tutorial was excellent!!
