    Thanks for checking out Odin 3!
    You're absolutely right that the more time is spent figuring out various features, the more realistic you can make your performances. That said, we developed Odin 3 with the goal of making it sound as massive as possible with minimal knob fiddling.
    Loving the content as always!

    I'm thinking of getting either AXURE GMP or ODIN 3 - I'm so torn, both sound so good! I want to play LOATHE/Erra/Periphery kinda riffs.

      I’ve watched a few comparisons and after its run through amp sims they seem to come out pretty close to each other. The first general thought I’d have is this is the third iteration for Odin so they learnt a lot along the way and have been doing this for 6+ years now, it’s a lot of knowledge being poured into the product
      The second is I’d probably really dive into tutorials on both of them and take note how hard it is to work with the key switches. It’s easy to dump midi in and do some quick sound samples but if you wanna go deep with the stuff then key switches and articulations will be king. I haven’t gone that deep with Odin and I haven’t seen how deep axure is but the demo songs I’ve heard out of Odin with people going full brain power on articulations sound pretty awesome

      @@ampspedalspickups Yep, it's exactly that. I think if you have a clean DI (MIDI) going in, then putting it through a AMP sim you are going to get a good result.
      I'd be using it to mock up quick riffs and ideas and then when it's fleshed out, re-record with real guitar. So I guess it's the way you use it which matters. If it's not going to be used on the final product, then both of them would more than adequate. I do agree with you that AXURE has just come out, that'll get better over time and ODIN has had three iterations, so a lot of knowledge has definitely been poured into it!

    Are the tunings listed fixed presets? Are you not able to customize or create new tuning presets? I understand that the idea is to pick the tone and timbre regardless of where it is in the fretboard, but I was hoping that there is a way to visualize what was programmed (ie. simulating a 6-string Drop B or Drop C tuning, 7-string Drop G, etc.).

    • @ampspedalspickups
      @ampspedalspickups  7 місяців тому +1

      Right now no it’s just those fixed tunings for the visual up top. A good feature would def be able to choose your tuning and have that visual scale down to 6-7 strings…. Would also be even cooler if you could pluck a fret from the visual cause I’m so used to guitar strings and frets it takes me a sec to mentally convert it to a piano roll. If I could pluck a string and see the piano roll note that would be handy.
      The Odin guys have a discord you could join and pass feedback, maybe it’s something they can include (at least more custom tunings)

      @@ampspedalspickups Yeah. I use Reaper too and I actually wrote my own MIDI editor extension that show a grid of buttons arranged similar to a fretboard and allows me to place notes that way. Very handy especially if a guitar VSTi has a "midi guitar" feature (instead of force string keyswitches, you can force strings by MIDI channel - Shreddage 3 and Ample Sound has it). I just wish such features are built-in.

      @@antonm_ whoah whoah whoah, where can I see this in action that sounds awesome. I’ve used a bunch of Alejandro from reapertips tips like being able to stack and edit multiple midi windows which is cool. I always wished they had a guitar pro editor sort of layout cause I’m so used to tabs, yours sounds like it’s kind of close which is awesome

    Sorry man, if i buy Odin 3 snd have fortin nameless, how do i use Odin But use fortin for the actual distortion sound? Im a noob so sorry for the bad explanation

    • @ampspedalspickups
      @ampspedalspickups  6 місяців тому +1

      Haha it’s fine, when you load up plugins they just flow in a sequence. So when you load up Odin it creates the guitar/DI sound and then load up nameless after that it’ll straight away get processed as the amp sound

    As a guitarist, I wouldn't use it but I'm curious how MIDI bass sounds with it. It might be a useful alternative to a good dirty bass sound.

      Good call, I play a lot of stuff in drop c so using it for bass is totally possible will try it out. Back in the axefx2 days when I had no idea what I was doing I’d just use my guitar with a -12 transpose to fake bass 🤣🤣🤣, I’m sure this would be a lot better

      For this one I was trialling the new RX11, they have a module to stem split vocals. I've also used lala.ai in the past with varying success... RX came out very good, if I did it more it would be worth upgrading for sure... lala is way cheaper, get daily free credits, cool to noodle around with
