First, get an avacado pit, put it in a bowl of hot water for 1 hour. Then, take it out and peel the outer skin off. Get a papertowel and wet it, then squeeze the excess water. Put the pit in the papertowel like a ball, then put it in a ziplock bag and place it somewhere warm and dark. In a few weeks, take it out and there will be roots! Put it in dirt, when it grows and gets leaves, cut them and wait for them to grlw back.
😂 Tried this 3 times. finally got to the 2 leaf stage. Looked up growing avocado, saw how long it took to grow and threw it away. Hope everyone here has good luck with their plants. 😊
I love growing avocado 🥑 and so far what I have found out about the is that if you take five avocados and put them in water 💦 and another five avocados and put them in dirt the ones only like 2 of them will actually grow and when they do they will grow very quickly and good and the ones in dirt they are all more likely to grow not as fast good as well!!
@@user-yr6co6dt4g still germinating, the temperature isn't helping, but the weather is warming up for good which will make them germinate and finally grow 😁
A sad story for me is that I planted an avocado seed after looking at this video but unfortunately I went on a trip over seas to Asia and came back in 3 months and it was no more😢
Avocados don't pass the good taste thru seed genetics. A guy named haas found a good tasting one a long time ago and we been using cuttings ever since. Same with other 🥑 variety
Was the avocado cut like that so the root could easily grow inside? I sometimes get a bag of avocados from the grocery store and get mad because there are little roots inside
I have so many questions 😶 How soon plant grown like this can produce avocados? What is the dish you used at the bottom of seed? How roots got so secure? How long does it take for seed to sprout?
1st don't let the cartel know. 2nd avocados will grow in most southern states but will not produce fruit, or if it does it will taste like straight up ass. buy a Mexican, Californian, and a Peruvian aguacate and for some reason where they grown makes a huge difference. That's why the cartel has taken over avocado production in Mexico.
Same here, I already have thrown away lots that didn’t grow roots, but now I finally have one with a small root. So I put it on top of a bottle with water, but the root is growing very slowly. Nothing else happening there… 😮 Shouldn’t there be a sprout on top? 🤷🏼♀️
I had one that took 4 months to sprout roots. Another I did recently only took a month. It just depends on the seed and I suppose the place you leave it at as well.
@@katheexd9705 , I have two now. One is doing really well, we already have small leaves in the top. The other one seems to have stop growing. I will carry on. ☺️
Lots of you guys are saying "Who tf cuts an avocado seed like that!?". But the cut actually makes itself when the sprout grows. And if you guys mean the way she cut the avocado thats a normal way i cut it like that to and she could just do it perfectly for the video.
Dude, bro, that things are going to grow bigger than my house that things should be outside where I can pick avocados that thing is not a house plant. What are you talking about? You lost your mind bro he would grow bigger than my room.😂
I've grown several in pure water and left it like that for years. But potting it in soil eventually will help it be more happy. My avocado plant water kept getting an odor every week and I got tired of replacing the water. So I finally put it in soil. Depends on the seed.

How much of the leaves do you cut off?
@@thirdeyesurvivor3886When the plant is about 6 inches, cut off I think 3.
Why do you have to cut off leaves
@@ValHeartNDHeartSuqquNoHeartPat I’m pretty sure the reason is they’re evergreens, or smth with photosynthesis.
@@ValHeartNDHeartSuqquNoHeartPatIt encourages the plant to branch out and get bushier.
I did it but who cuts an avocado like that
Because the busters open when you grow it, she didn’t make cuts
It just sprouted inside of the pit, and then Bersted open
He didn’t cut it open that’s just how it grows
@@celesteavila4321he means the actual avocado, not the seed. The normal way to cut an avocado is lengthwise, not sideways.

That is one healthy looking avocado plant! Wow! Very impressive!
Can you tell me where you got the vase? I love the look! ❤
great idea for the summer time 😊
I just put my seed like it was from the fruit into soil and it grew
Hi there, how long did it take to grow in the soil?
@@digiverse7686 maybe 2 weeks but it died later on because I was watering it too much.
Where'd you find the dish for the seed to sit perfectly?!!
You can use tooth picks stabbed into the pit to hold it
I liked that holder too.
What a lovely presentation!
I left mine for 4 months in a ziploc bag and it has a very bonzai look, growing well just in water 👍

I hope you can grow another one!
Of course they can
This is great but there is no guarantee that it'll fruit. Better to graft imo
Thought most didn't produce fruit this way?
When the seed is cracked can I take the whole thing off and just leave roots?

It takes about a decade from when you get it to root for your plant to produce fruit

Why not grow a dandelion, your not going to get an avocado from the plant, and if you do, it will be horrible.

When it starts getting that big you'll know it wont fit the jar anymore and will start tipping over, at that point it can be planted outside...
