As a doctor and patient advocate with 20 years experience under my belt, I can tell you... this system SUCKS and is broken! When insurance companies are able to set up the networks of physicians, lobby for the laws, and control the peer review and rebuttal processes... that recipe of risk management spells complete disaster for the injured worker. That smug attorney (for the carriers) can't wait to pounce on the worker that is losing their job, livelyhood, and homes. How they can look in the mirror and not vomit, is beyond my comprehension.

I couldnt agree more Doc. Thank you so much for retaining your moral compass and integrity after all those years fighting in such a broken system. I fell victim to the insurance company, insurance Doctors and Attorneys,and judges lobbying and doing favors to throw out legit cases that arnt home run ,huge cases and do favors for the lower pay outs for guaranteed pay out on big cases later on. I've had my life destroyed over another injury now and those employers and their insurance companies, and Doctors lied compulsively in attempts to get my case thrown out and almost four years later and they are still doing the same old song and dance.
I couldn't agree with you more! I wonder if he'd feel the same way if he was the injured worker or even a family member

My Dr. betrayed me and even worse, when he knew 100% that the surgery he performed to me didn’t work and I was still injured, anyway I’ll start the fight again cause my condition “ carpal tunnel síndrome” is getting even worse after 4 long, long years of pain, discomfort, tears, depresión, frustration, stress, etc...
Work comp docs do not care about the injured worker!
They are working with the employer.
As an employee that was injured severely it is a corrupt system in California, I had to retain a lawyer and your employer will have an aggressive defense attorney count on thatcount on a gesture that we'll just ignore request for treatment and referrals.if you're thinking about bringing a suit against your employer have your ducks in a row it is a report driven system keep your records organized and write everything down you are going to become an adversary to your employer and that will change everything with your case!!! I highly recommend getting a attorney.
No doubt have your ducks in a row and document everything. Make notes of what was said from every treating doctor because it all comes back up . What happened what was recommended? What was said ? By whom when ? Yes it’s a horrible process to go through in California. I know . I’m going through it

Actually, going through my experience, my doctor's have been pretty good and very nice. They have been concerned about my well-being, and I have been evaluated to make sure that I'm OK. My process is still currently on going. When I explained to them what occurred, they were very concerned. Work related injuries are a serious matter.
They absolutely do not have the patients best interest at heart and they are heartless and cruel . The bottom line is they work for the employer and want you back to work regardless if you’re well or not . This is a bullshit law that needs to go .
Ive seen multiple workers comp doctors and my first 3 were just terrible and said I was being dramatic. I was released back to work multiple times without even being able to button my pants nor open a can of food... I worked with severe pain and had no medications given to me until 4 months later when i was diagnosed! I have been referred to a specialist and he seems like one of the better workers comp doctors and has been getting me nerve block treatments... though i am still weary about trusting too much
Don’t trust anybody from workers comp! They are smart..they will try to act or pretend to be nice to get you in your comfort zone but don’t fall for it! If you don’t have attorney get one ASAP as it will help you and then knowing you’re being represented they’ll back off a bit and do things right. Best of luck to you. I was injured at work and made a mistake and picked a bad workers comp attorny that did absolutely nothing for me or my case. I fired him and had to get a new one. Let me tell you it was the best decision I ever made. He helped me a lot he was there for me and most importantly he waited for me to get all the treatment I could ever get paid by workers comp and reach maximum medical improvement and after he settled my case with a great outcome/settlement! Depending where your at but if your are in CA. Let me know in a comment I will refer you to my attorney...you will not be disappointed at all. You’ll thank me later.

This happened to me . I saw the comp doctor they didn’t do hardly nothing to treat me . They don’t take it a step further . I went to my own doctor paying out of pocket spent over 3000.00 got compensated for nothing back . Finally got onto WC benefits and everything is being denied . Every treatment step. So what benefits am I really receiving? It’s a crazy process. Lost my job while being on this process. I had to hire a lawyer. The best thing I ever done ! As a person that’s going through this process don’t try to save a dime to lose a dollar . Hire a if possible a trial lawyer. They tend to get better results .
Malpractice suits are so hard to prove and so rare and this lawyer knows it - which is what the employer and doctors/insurance companies count on!!!
I was starved back to work by workers compensation, on narcotics driving a semi-truck with 2 undiagnosed spinal injuries! Result; CRIPPLED, 4 LIFE;
Same on OxyContin they send me 90 miles one way in a hospital working around patients

Then, I think everybody should write to the Politics that make the law and complaint about the fucked up workcomp system and change. The injured innocent worker and the lawyer will never win if the doctors are corrupted. Right?

Same here! Did you settle your case? If not I can refer you to my attorney he’s the best in town honestly!
What about the depression cause you are not able to do a piece of shit outside nor go parties or socialize as a normal person cause you cannot even walk...
Workers compensation is a legal scam. They don't see you so they don't care
Is a superior group blocking and manipulating the judicial system to their advantage. If your on state inseurence there paying for it but i can still choose my own doc
I say you can't trust any Worker's Comp. doctor or your employer. If possible always get a second opinion form your own specialist or doctor. Maybe even a third. Voting matters bc many elected officials aren't in favor of the average working Amercian.
Always take some with you as a witness when you go to a doctor's office and to an attorneys office. Why because doctor's will either lie and or make up diagnosis that are false. The patient is niave about medical treatment and will make you believe what he wants you to. An attorney does not want a witness with you because if they give wrong advice to you then he really doesn't really know whether you are familiar with filing a grievance a complaint with the state bar or the medical board. I can tell you that my previous experience in helping people when a doctor or an attorney behaved in an unethical manner and today that attorney is not practicing law .HAVE A WITNESS WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES...........

I would also be interested to know. Here in WA State we changed our Laws back in 2011. Now they say we have a great WC Rate come on in to WA big bis. But is there or does any one know if the number of claims denied has gone up as this great WC rate has gone done? Is this helping our society as A whole. Just asking, Peace
the concealment of fact,rewritten ,reports,phone call whistle blowers,destroyed,my live,left for social security to pay for needed surgeries,7 years later,lost home,car,family,left disabled,while they give the lies that destroy lives of the disabled.
Man my WC claim is killing me in WA I swear. My State and Fed Gov seem to work hand in hand to deny care to the aging workers. It is just not right. MY gov is abusing and sticking it to me plan view for the world to see, and no one cares? Is this why the IW's become SI's? or Worse? When Labor Agreed to, and enter into, THE GRAND DEAL years ago, when the WC systems were started.Labor did not know that so many years later, their civil rights would be allowed to be hindered on purpose, all with the intent, to allow dr/hmos/employers to deny, treatments, and A Dr's DUTY OF CARE DUE them, to be denied.
Wow I've only had one company really take care of me and that was diamond shamrock before they became Valero. And they really took care of me I had repetitive motion in one of my wrists really really bad come to find out one day I was in their filing room and I had numbness in my hand I've been complaining about it and I dropped a box and I didn't get hurt but they sent me to their own doctor which was the Spurs doctor which was really amazing. They determined that I had cubital tunnel not carpal tunnel which come from my elbow and I had surgery and was out of work for 4 months. I had the best care I had physical therapy and I was able to come back to work and that was the best surgery that I ever had let me tell you that was the only company that ever took care of any injury that I may have ever had. I got paid through the whole thing and the doctors were wonderful the company was wonderful they had a nurse that went with me to my appointment it was truly amazing that I got taken care of so wonderfully
They work doctors are on the employer side, especially if it’s corporate. I got injured from over use at work. The doctor was like oh nothing serious, just over use, you can go to work just fine, you’ll just be in pain. 🙄

My employer has my best interests at heart; FAT FUCKING CHANCE! mu employer did everything possible to deny my claim! Including writing to workers comp and lying that I falsified my employment history. My injury claim was denied, as was my doctors recommendations for assessment; Help I need a Attorney....

I said well help me with my med mj then? He said no. I said how about figting for my civil rights. NO..... So Im still with out an attorney. and awaiting another IME. ARGGGG. to establish how much this all has hamred my mental health. The injured are ecconomically and legislatively locked out of the system form being able to fight back fairly. +Darren Fonzseau I thought when I was injured,I would be taken care of.I had the best medical and other benefits,but with W.C. that means absolutely nothing.They treat us like we are criminals,and just because they have caught others working and collecting they seem to think we are all pulling the same scam.I hate this system,they denyd corrective surgery way back in the beginning and now I suffer on a daily basis,and they want to take my money now.They are just putting a knife in my heart and twisting it.
Sorry to hear its happening to you as well. I tried for 5 years to get lawyers and they told e the same thing yours did, that I had all ready proven my case. None the less I finally settled with them, but not for much. They starve us out and wait us out until were forced to take their low ball offer. I was about to loose our apartment and on welfare that does not cover everything, so I had no choice but to accept their low settlement. They did not give me nothing for my back but did agree that they angst me mental health and awarded me a PPD rating for depression. Im now trying to look for work that does not harm my back and that pays me enough to support my family. Wishing you the best of luck, it truly is a war on our laborers grand bargain by folks in suits who most like never labored a day in their lives to survive. Peace and stay strong.
PS, I tried to get WA state to cover my Med MJ as well only to have them deny me in the end do to the FDA scheduling of MJ. Even though our state makes millions off MJ, they do not want to use any of those proceeds to help injured workers. New Mexico does cover MED MJ for their injured workers. Not sure how the injured workers won it their, I sure wish I knew how. In time the insurance industry will have to come around to seeing that MJ does have medical value, and decreases the opiate use. Darren Fonzseau The way I feel might be wrong but after suffering every day for 29 years and them paying me,now all the sudden they don't want to live up to the LIFE settlement they have to pay.The one that changed these laws I wish they would experience half of what I been through and live daily.They would have killed themselves years ago.I think this is the point of them breaking our balls ,maybe we will just off ourselves so they don't have to pay.They should be sued for bringing undue stress into our lives,which makes it worse for us chronic pain people.
I would be interested to know, some of the social and ill effects this all may be having on our society. What may be some of the underlying fallout from all this? People living in the streets of course, but how about domestic violence, and ect that stems out of the frustrations with the inability to obtain the Truth in our care. I want to know who many people have been jailed over making threatning statements to state officials over this mess and what that does to their lives?

Had this Happen to me... thrown a bone right off the bat , simply didnt know any better getting ready to fire my attorney may do my own case im not a dummy but people treat you like one if you let them.... and this guy that that said I was ok , didnt offer my MRI I have asked for all along so as you say here I MAY have a case related to that as well shame I wouldnt want to hang myself as a doctor ... but some people do for the right price... the attorney I have has sat on his A for 9 months so he has given me no choice , wants to file a claim ... and get his money and me get on my way..lol

Is there a RULE in WA State and Others that says Lawyers should not take the workers cases if the occ medd Dr. says he is not going to support it? I have tried to lawyer up 4 times now in 2 years. The 1st one actully Called my Occ Med Dr. and asked them if they were going to support my claim? occ med said no so they would and they would not help me.Is there like an Un written RULE or Gentlemen Agreement To not take the smaller cases or stage 2 backs?
Oh and My Attorney hasnt done anything to provide me any money while been home I HAVE had no money since 8 months so far from being off work fell out of a Semi and Broke arm deformed after fall.

I was disabled 29 years ago,Social Security,and my State pension (union) bothe gave me a total disability,but Comp.only gave me perm. partial.Now Comp, wants to take my money and kick me off disability.I am a chronic pain patient and have been treated every week since my injury 29 years ago.Comp,says I'm only partial and don't want to pay me anymore.They said they passed a law in '07 to put a 10 yr. cap on disability.Hello,I haven't work in 29 yrs.and can't.What can I do to fight this. They want me to look for work.I am very limited and can't do any work what so ever for any period of time but an hour at the most,and that's a good day...Oh I had a neck and spinal injury.They wouldn't approve an operation in the beginning and I've been suffering ever since.What kills me is,They say you look fine.I'm glad they can see what I feel or how I live.Talk about not being fair.I have lost almost everything in my life,now they want to take the only things I have left.
***** You know,it's funny,the day comp called me back into court,we had a small earthquake.I said this can't be good.I was wondering why they would be calling me back to court,considering my case was settled.Well I was awarded LIFETIME chiropractic,once a week,I guess they had a hard time writing checks to my chiro,because they took it away from me as my lawyer stood their with his head up his ass and said nothing,but, thank you judge.He told me to keep my mouth shut,I was like why,what are they gonna do take my money? Sure enough,I was right,Now The letter I got was from my lawyer saying go look for work.I told him I can't he says look anyway.If they are gonna take my money,what's the point?He says you don't have to work just look.This makes NO sense...I guess I'll do what I'm told...I'm not good at taking orders from people who live happy lives and have no clue why people like me have no-one or anything...I guess they want to make sure I end up in a gutter.

I can absolutely say, state that doctors lie. My impairment physician showed from her lap top what my doctor stated in my records. I was willing to prove to her and she said she believes me. But my impairment rating was conducted in my truck. And my doctors staff treated me badly. People you can file a complaint with the Mexical State Board. But there is also Facebook and videos as this. As it said in this video that your State officially make the rules for Workers Compensation because they benefit from this in a monetary way, they get money contributions for their campaigns and the state officials they themselves are CO'S, own the company and so they pay into Workers Compensation but they want to hold on to their money the employee doesn't benefit.
