    Canoo has been clear for a while that they are going for fleet sales first. Those are the big volume orders so it makes business sense. Also, fleets can act as beta testers much better than private citizens. It's frustrating if we'd like to see one for sale, but makes business sense for Canoo.

      The truck would be great to have. But we all know; never buy the first round of new electronics. Makes sense to test small fleets first. Work out the kinks and bugs. Then hit the market for consumers.

      @@crtmojo2705 Yeah, fleets will have (presumably) trained techs and mechs in a shop to deal with glitches and weaknesses that become apparent. On the positive side, fleet drivers tend to be much harder on vehicles than private owners so if a vehicle is solid for fleet svc, than it should do very well for private family ownership.

      @@crtmojo2705 That is all true. Also, let's say you're running a doughnut shop. You have orders for a lot of single doughnuts and orders from some big buyers for thousands of doughnuts. If you're smart, you take care of the big orders first because that's where the money is. If a single doughnut buyer walks away impatient? Stuff happens. I would 100% love to car camp in this vehicle, across Canada and the U.S. I do find the 'touch bar controls' absolutely terrible. I'd love to see a more driver-friendly button panel. I hope that we start seeing these cars hit the consumer market sometime soon. Add a heat pump for cold climate (Canada) and I'd definitely explore this is a strong option for my adventure travels.

    I love the little truck Bulldog. REminds me of a mini Unimog face, and that COE design... but electric... is a chef's kiss for me. I'm in the market to get my first EV and I want a small truck. Rivian turned me off with their price, but I understand it, their second gen product seems to be aimed more at me, and it seems Canoo is also targeting that price range shopper. 30-50K. Rivian has an edge with already being on the road for word of mouth. I looked at the F-150 as well, but it's just too big for my need, think weekend DIYer going to the Big Box Store or loading mulch for the wife. I won't need to haul any huge trailers. The ev market isn’t slowing down. The best selling vehicle in the world in 2023 is the Tesla Model Y. And they’re not 60-70k they’re $40-50k. What has changed is that people are no longer willing to pay a big premium for an EV, so the products that sell are the ones that are priced comparatively with ICE vehicles. I REALLY hope Canoo can stay alive and get vehicles to customers

    I want one, mostly a van but I want it to have the same type of body panels and coating as the military truck version! The truck version is said to have a range of 500 miles, if they can get that range for the truck then why not for the van?
    I have heard prices in the $30k to $50k range which I think is reasonable, the other thing is the footprint is roughly the same size as what a Prius takes up! That to me hits right as I don’t need to make any changes to my garage or find special parking spots for a bigger wider vehicle (talking to you Tesla Cyber Truck). Last wish is that this use a new battery type that gets longer range and charges quickly. To me the van has this kind of 70s hippy vibe like a Volkswagen bus. Come on Canoo give us the van now!

Notice how he made sure to say they have not took a dollar from oklahoma state and then also the news speaker states that they are still deciding if they want to buy the vehicles? What the hell? The stock rallied because investors thought the vehicles were already delivered. They are also bragging about production and the factory in a rush because they were very behind on production. Pair with Apple? Please no, the price will go up and the features will go down. It's a modular vehicle platform, the opposite of Apple's very closed source, hands off approach.

    As for demand, yeah, I'd like an EV. I'm NOT going to spend $60K+ on one. Especially not a non-Tesla. Keep in mind, there is no functional road charging network for non-Tesla EVs, so they're all town cars. However, if I could get a nice little van for around town stuff for $30K? Less? We might be talking. But I don't think Canoo will be able to deliver that.

    • @benwinslow3101

      Charging networks are workable currently. You can road trip in an EV with a bit of planning (not just telsas)

      @@benwinslow3101 Yeah, I’m hearing from a lot of very pro-EV people that non-Tesla chargers are suckadelic. Either completely non-functional or working at a reduced level that will take hours to charge a typical EV. I’m also hearing that non-Tesla EVs have a very difficult time handshaking with those semi-functional chargers. I stand by my statement.

      @hemaccabe4292 you are welcome to your opinion, but I'll just point out that bad news sells better than good news. The CCS network is hit or miss, but its getting better, and it's not as bad it's made out to be. There are several apps you can use to scout out chargers in advance, so with a little planning it's really not hard. Additionally, everyone is switching over to NACS anyway, so the tesla network will be a reliable backup option for everyone when needed.

    • @ckm-mkc
      @ckm-mkc 6 місяців тому

      @@hemaccabe4292 I have a non-Tesla EV. Yeah, the chargers are not as good as Tesla and sometimes they are broken, but it's not that much of an issue. Most people with EVs drive less than 50 miles/day and charge either at home or at work.
      The use case for EVs is not long-distance trips, but running normal everyday errands and commutes. They are great at both of those, esp. since most families in the US own two cars. Our second car is a large SUV which pretty much never gets used other than road trips.
      Focusing on long-distance road trips is a red-herring everyone one is chasing, it pushes up car weights, charging times and cost massively. It's like shopping for cars by gas tank size when all you do is commute 20 miles to work.....

    Tesla has taken forever to put put the cyber truck and it isn't even what they said it would be. So Canoo gets a pass from me since they are still a smaller business and basically a startup still. So shut up with your complaints already sell your stock already. Owning stock in a company means you see potential growth and sales. But I am a nobody. Just ignore me.

    They need a new CEO. As you have alluded to in your video, Tony has no clue what he is talking about. He uses too many jargons that meant nothing to translate to any revenue. The quality of workforce that he has is sub-optimal. The real leading edge guys are gone. I am not sure how this company survive the next 2 quarters with the cash and cash equivalents of $8.3 millions as of Sept 30, 2022.

    • @ckm-mkc
      @ckm-mkc 6 місяців тому

      I dunno, he's the one that's gotten vehicles out the door, which is a huge win in my book. Even Elon struggled to get that done. As far as cash, this is a very real issue, but it's also a symptom of the wider state of the economy - two years ago they could have easily raised another round, but higher interest rates have destroyed that window.....
      There was a time when the same thing happened to Tesla and Elon put every last cent he had into it to keep it afloat. He was homeless for about a year (sold his house) and was basically a perma-guest at his friends.

      I cover the industry and have been following the brand since 2019. Id love to speak great of the brand but sadly they have gone through management after management with nothing to show for it. Canoo needs to build the reservations they have taken in yet the brand continues to chase investment money to stay afloat. I find nothing positive in the brand at the moment.

    Reinventing or making the steering wheel a different shape is the most dumbest thing ever which the steering wheel should not be made a different shape keep it the same shape and another thing I can not stand is dial shifters or button shifters make it simple and easy column shifters and console shifters are by far the simple and easy way why remake something so complicated or totally make it different is just in my opinion stupid.
