    Hi dawning, I know they might be old but I’ve watched a lot of your warrior cat life stories, like brighthearts and cloudtails, but I was hoping if you could make one about longtail, it would be really interesting!

    Damn, was planning on writing on weekend a post on Facebook group about some last minute theories, guess its kinda pointless now :/ AND I'll have to worry about avoiding spoilers until next week...
    Honestly I'm not sure if Into the Wild is the best book to start the series if you are a new reader. Last time I read it it felt very exposition heavy. Personally I think the best book to start might be Crookedstar's Promise, it might not explain everything but shows what Clan life is about; Bluestar's Prophecy is too tied to the first arc with some of its plotlines to be read first. (Also, some time ago I had a thought that it would be hilariously if somebody would start reading Warriors with Leopardstar's Honor, where Firestar is a borderline villain until near the end... and were Graystripe IS a villain, not as great as Tigerstar but definitely isn't a good cat in that book xD)
    Top five times Firestar was a mousebrain, huh? Just five? I wouldn't know what to pick ;p Obviously giving away woodland to WindClan and never taking it back would be up there, maybe even number one...
    EDIT: read the article, so now I know that, much to my disappointment, it doesn't even touch many mistakes Firestar had made as a leader (ok, not that many, but still would fill that list) but rather focuses mostly on the mess he'd made of his private life, still funny I suppose

      It’s true that Into the Wild is exposition-heavy, but I think that the exposition is important to help understand the world. Rising Storm was the first book I read in the series, and although it does show normal Clan life too, I still misunderstood some things until I read the earlier books. (For instance, I didn’t realize that “paw” was an apprentice suffix. My first fanClan based on my Beanie Babies had a deputy named something like Blackpaw, lol.)
      I also think the idea of coming into the books with a villainous Fireheart and Graystripe is hilarious 😆
      With the mouse-brain article, I’m glad it at least included the ones I was thinking of: him having never guessed that “fire” could mean him, and his cluelessness about Sandstorm & Cinderpelt’s feelings for him. To quote Vicky from many years ago, “Stoopid man-cat.” 😛

      I almost kinda do, actually. The thought that the book about one of the cats I despise the most wouldn't have any while a book about one of my favorite cats (Leopardstar) had quite a lot of them... it just pisses me off xD

    The onestar hate will hopefully finally end after this book. I've been looking back on his overall history lately, and I just can't understand why people think he is so horrible. Like yeah, he made some bad decisions, but there's no justification that he should actually be denied starclan for him struggling as leader, especially considering he didn't want to become OneStar in the first place.

    • @catxborsuq1
      @catxborsuq1 2 роки тому +3

      "why people think he is so horrible" he refused to give ShadowClan the only medicine that could cure them that he didn't need, that is straight up evil.
      Everything up to that, I could say "yeah, he should be in StarClan, I mean I still don't like him but that doesn't mean they should suffer" (a sentiment I have for Tigerstar and Dovewing, for example xD), and that his actions could be explained (even abandoning his son, as much as that pisses me off I can see his reasoning/excuses), but THAT is something that shouldn't be easily forgiven. And this isn't something that can be excused with him not wanting to be a leader, that was like 5 years after he became a leader; that's like 40 in cat years xD
      I hope that at the very least this will be brought up when he's being judged, that the cats that died (like Crowfrost) will stare at him in judgement and he begs forgiveness or something. I just want that to be adressed.
      That being said, I am always in favor of judging the character for their overall story, not their lowest point (which is why I love Leopardstar), so yeah, for his life overall he deserves to be in StarClan... probably :p I am just glad that they needed to spend time considering it as shown in the prologue

      @@catxborsuq1 Thats fair, nobody would pretend onestar was a perfect cat, like firestar for example, but putting him in the dark forest with cats like tigerstar and company, I don't think should have even been up for discussion.

    • @catxborsuq1
      @catxborsuq1 2 роки тому +1

      @@TheAshfurApologist Actually I forgot to bring this up when we last talked like this; remember how I brought up Juniperclaw? See, the think about him, while I see why so many disagree with him being in the Dark Forest... I also can see why he would be there. He's a good cat that made several terrible mistakes. Honestly, I am surprised there aren't more cats like him in the Dark Forest. You can be a good person and still do the wrong things. Does it mean you shouldn't be punished somehow? Where is the line between forgiveness and eternal damnation?
      In the end it seems that the actions overall matter more to StarClan, though I would imagine they give a bit of leniency to young cats (which is why Needletail squized in, though I would imagine the time she spend as a ghost and tried to help Violetpaw and all that also helped) as they wouldn't have as much time to fix their mistakes (unfortunately for Juniperclaw he screwed up twice, first by joining Darktail and then by poisoning SkyClan). And fortunately for Onestar he had a long live so even his actions in AVOS and when he was young were ultimately forgiven.
      (I hope that Firestar was at least a LITTLE pissed with him though ;p)

      @@catxborsuq1 Well to honest we have very little information on the dark forest and it's inhabitants, especially considering this series is like almost two decades old, the Erin's haven't given us a lot in all honesty. Like for all we know, there's tons of cats like juniperclaw there, intermixed with tigerstar and his band of misfits. We honesty need a book about the Dark Forest, because iam personally very curious about it, hopefully it's on the Warriors team list of priorities, think it could be a very interesting.

    • @catxborsuq1
      @catxborsuq1 2 роки тому +1

      @@TheAshfurApologist Hm, I would rather have a book about StarClan, like, have cats who died hang out. For example, imagine Firestar and Leopardstar hanging out, bond over how much Graystripe and Silverstream pissed both of them off with their secret romance xD
      In any case, maybe this will be what book 6 will be about? I mean, 1st River, 2nd Sky, 3rd Shadow, 4th and 5th Wind and Thunder most likely, so 6th should be Star, right? Unless they will make up another Clan which I hope won't happen, adding back SkyClan caused enough political unrest for a few next generations. Of course, just because it will be titled Star wouldn't necessarily mean it would focus on either StarClan or Dark Forest, we don't really know if this is the intention the authors are going for. Sure, in River we had tragedy struck RiverClan, but we don't even have a POV character for SkyClan and we know Leafstar is alive in Shadow and there is no mention of SkyClan in the blurb...
      Anyway, back to Dark Forest book; I think the best bet would be a field guide about them.

    I have read the entire spoiler thread but I’ll still read the book, I thought it was ok but a lot of people didn’t like it at all, the last couple of chapters are pretty much a retelling of avos

      I’ve read a bit of the spoiler thread. I do wish that it covered more of the era we haven’t seen (after Tallstar’s Revenge and before the first series), as well as WindClan’s exile during the first series: those were two of the things I was hoping to see most. I’m glad we at least got *something* from WindClan’s POV; I’ll have to see what I think upon actually reading it.
