This arc is like a complete 180 from The Broken Code, in terms of me having no idea what's going on, it's kinda fun though. Riverstar is a great choice for a super edition considering we know soo little about him, happy to learn more about Riverclan's founder. The Ultimate guide has me very intrigued, definitely looking forward to it. All in all, these books look quite promising.
If the "roots" for Frostpaw to visit is RiverClan's old territory, I hope we get to learn a lot more about WarriorClan. However, I think it might be interesting if it was the park cats instead, to see how a perhaps leaderless culture functions.
I hope it won't mean they would try to implement the leaderless culture" into RiverClan, it only works because they have no enemy groups to contest with for food or territory.
(The following was originally part of my first comment, but for some reason when I tried to post it all together I kept seeing "returned error", so I split it to see what was the problem.) Sooo, since we're talking about the main series books, wanna hear my theories about book 3? They kinda tie into a discussion of what the blurb for 4th book could mean... Rest of the arc in general: - before we go to Shadow specifically, there is one thing I'd want to theorise about the arc in general. About a year ago, when we knew the titles of arc and specific books ("A Starless Clan", "River", "Sky"), we had all assumed that each book will be covering a giant calamity for each Clan, most likely centered about the Clan losing a leader. Which was logical, as the first two books were named after Clans with the oldest leaders. And when "River" came out, it looked as if we were right. But then in "Sky"... nothing bad happened to SkyClan. Leafstar is still alive, the only somewhat bad thing is that one of their warriors went to ShadowClan and was having rough time. So why was this book titles "Sky" then, and why are the books named after each Clan? I think it's because those Clans will be the most important one for the titular StarlessClan (RiverClan) in each book. Now, this might be a bit of a stretch, as all SkyClan does for them is send one of their medicine cats to help out and Leafstar tries to talk with Bramblestar and Squirrelflight about what to do if Tigerstar takes over RiverClan. But that's still more than other Clans do for them. SkyClan is also the one leading the medicine cats to find catmint, and one of the more important plotpoints for Sunbeam's POV is the former SkyClan warrior and how she's being treated. So what does this mean for the rest of the books and the other Clans? Well, with the situation we are left from "Sky", it's pretty obvious that ShadowClan will be HEAVILY involved with RiverClan in this book. A few weeks ago the title and blurb for the 4th book came out and it seems that it will be their turn to get involved with RiverClan, too. So the titles still make sense, and fortunately it doesn't have to mean that the titular Clan will be facing a calamity in the book named after them; it could, of course, but not necessarily. The Prologue: I have 4 ideas about what the prologue could be about: - the fallout in ThunderClan after Nightheart leaves. As we are losing our POV for ThunderClan for the immediate future (unless we'll get a 4th POV, maybe Finchlight), this will be the only chance for the book to show us what's happening there (unless we'll later get a novella or a Super Edition but that would be at least a year away from now). What could this fallout be? Well, could be just general sadness, maybe it could be from Sparkpelt's POV, cats admitting that they might have treated Nightheart too harshly; personally I think he was whiny and self-absorbed and that his Clanmates didn't treat him as badly as he thinks, but still, some things could have been done differently. Of course, we could have Bramblestar dismiss Squirrelflight as his deputy, as it was her that - unintentionally of course - egged Nightheart - whom Bramblestar was clearly very fond of - on to leave ThunderClan, by berating him for following Bramblestar's order to boot (that being said, its better for everybody involved that Nightheart hadn't had the chance to report what he had found out cause that would be embarrassing in the next book xD). So coupled with her undermining him earlier might be enough for Bramblestar to dismiss her. That being said... he hadn't dismissed her in Squirrelflight's Hope, and whatever you think of his behavior in that book you have to agree that he had WAY more reasons to replace her than he has now. So would Nightheart leaving could really be enough for him to finally do it? Regardless of whether that would be good - if somewhat awkward - for their relationship and the Clan, of course... Alternatively, Squirrelflight could step down on her own. While she was hard on Nightheart, she definitely cares for him, and is probably distraught for pushing him away from ThunderClan. That, coupled with all the stress she had been (which probably contributed to her being so angry with him in their last conversation, when you are stressed you snap far more easily) could finally be enough for her and decide that some other cat should look after the Clan while she'd focus on her family, as it's clear she couldn't look after both too well anymore. - we see Tigerstar being informed about the dried-up catmint in RiverClan camp. As a lot of people complained, we had Tigerstar off-screen change his mind about RiverClan in the last book. Some suggested that this was the mistake of writers, but I think they meant to leave that as a mystery for then and reveal it in the next book for bigger impact. So I think it could be revealed in the prologue. Tigerstar could be approached by some cat, possibly leaving him unnamed for now, and be told about it, and then he would be furious, believing that his son wouldn't have died if RiverClan had their sh*t together, and it would cause him to change his mind. He would then order ShadowClan to go to RiverClan camp, while the cat who had told him that would sit back and watch them leave, smirking and saying to themselves: "All according to keikaku." (for those who don't get the joke, it's a meme, "keikaku" means "plan" in Japanese) - we see Reedwhisker's death. I think we might get to learn how exactly he had died in this book, and if that's the case, it would make sense to show it in the prologue, kinda similar to how in Forest of Secrets in the prologue we got to see Oakheart bring Mistykit and Stonekit into RiverClan's nursery. - obligatory scene of StarClan fretting. I could totally see it happening, but we already had that in the previous book so out of all my theories about the prologue I think it's the least likely one.
Last part of my comment, turned out that the problem was the word limit, apparently. Anyway, last part of my theories: . . . . . . . . . Actual book: - ShadowClan will vote Tigerstar to step down as leader. There are two reasons why I think that could happen (and a whole bunch why it SHOULD happen, but that's a different discussion ;p). First reason is that there are cats in ShadowClan who realize what they are doing with RiverClan is wrong (Tawnypelt), and cats who are concerned with ShadowClan's safety as the other 3 Clans could attack them for this (Berryheart). Second reason is that it would be brilliant from the storytelling point; we spend the last two books showing how unwell Bramblestar was in the aftermath of The Broken Code events, leading to almost all of the readers to speculate that this new law will be used on him. Heck, in "Sky", Nightheart even straight up considers that happening! But what if that all had been a "red herring"? That after all this build-up to Bramblestar losing his leadership, the new law would be used on Tigerstar instead? I think that would be simply brilliant^^ (of course, Bramblestar is in my top 10 favorite cats while I utterly despise Tigerstar, so my opinion of that plot twist might be a bit biased ;p) (that, and I think the fact that it actually was suggested in the books, with Nightheart thinking about it, means that it's unlikely to happen that there would be a vote for Bramblestar, it's kinda too obvious at this point, plus I don't think it ever happened in Warriors for things to be called several books before they actually happen) - Nightheart will leave ShadowClan It's pretty obvious that Nightheart jumps way too soon into the relationship with Sunbeam and into the idea of switching Clans. I'm unsure how things go with the relationship, I think when they spend more time together they will start to think that they might not be the right cats for each other, but I am almost certain that living in ShadowClan won't be easy for Nightheart and make him reconsider his decision, see that not all of his problems were because of other cats' expectations or not respecting him. - Reedwhisker's and Curlfeather's killers will be revealed I'll be honest, on my first reading of "River" I scoffed on the idea of there being some conspiracy ^^; But after second reading and "Sky", I reconsidered. I think they will be revealed in this book, or at the very least, some of them will be revealed. Why? Because the 3rd book in each arc ALWAYS has some win for the good guys. It's the "mid-season finale", after all xD As for who could it be... well, I have two guesses, with the possible combination of the two: First is that the cats that are part of the conspiracy are some of the "rebels" from The Broken Code arc. I started to think so after it was suggested that the dogs who killed Curlfeather had been baited to that place. It immediately reminded me of how the Imposter tried to kill Sparkpelt. And who would know that? Well, Bristlefrost talks about it in the rebel's gathering, so everybody who was there would. As for why they would be doing all of this... it often happened in the real world history that a group would gather because they'd want to change things in their country and such, but then when things would change, part of them would be disappointed with how they turned out and continue to work together. As for specifics, the only names that I can think off so far would be Icewing and Harelight, the cats who had been banished by Mistystar and were part of ShadowClan for a time. They just seemed oddly acceptive of Tigerstar taking over RiverClan, but who knows. Second is some cats from the past, like Sleekwhiskers, or whoever else from the Kin's top cats had remained alive after AVOS. Or maybe even Sol? Yeah he would be very old at this point but he could still be alive. Of course I doubt Sol would have been able to kill Reedwhiskers even if he was young, but if I remember correctly the wounds on Reedwhisker's body looked more like they were done by a badger than a cat anyway. Anyway, with the Kin and Darktail having been brought up a few times in "River" and "Sky", I think it would fit well if it turned out Sleekwhiskers was the one responsible... especially since her mentor had been Tigerstar, what a fine job he had done, huh? xD Of course, it would be possible for both guesses be right and they could be cooperating.
Frostpaw's gonna do the same thing as Shadowsight, isn't she? I hope it's better this time, I thought the thing with Shadowsight was climactic enough but I do hope they do it differently, because it would be kind of boring to have it happen again the EXACT same way. Unless it's like a murder mystery? Where you ACTUally don't know who did it?
Thanks for another fun update^^ (writing it here at the beginning as my comment is rather long ^^;) Aced the quizzes, as for polls, no I would not leave Clan to be with somebody, loyalty to the Clan most important thing to a warrior and I always disliked those that would end up leaving their Clan for this reason (I do feel better about how things are now, with the official process though, and I always respected cats who would ultimately decide their loyalty lies with their Clan, with the exception of Graystripe as it was his loyalty to Firestar and not ThunderClan - and Leopardstar banishing him - that caused him to get back), and no I do not think Nightheart will stay in ShadowClan. SPOILERS FOR NEW BOOKS! . . . . . . . Not really that excited about the Ultimate Guide, as it doesn't seem that they will be adding that much to it :/ Also was never a fan of the artwork in the Field Guides, cats barely look like they had been described (with best example of that being Crookedstar). Hope they fixed that. Actually they should just straight up use drawings from the graphic novels... Also not really that excited about the Riverstar Super Edition, Riverstar was my least favorite of the Dawn of the Clans leaders (I mean, after Skystar OBVIOUSLY), partially probably because we never really got to know him all that well... So I suppose it will be nice to actually get to know him better actually, and it will be nice to know what happened after Shadowstar's Life. That being said, I had been far more interested in Leopardstar's and Onestar's books (even though I despise Onestar!), even if they focused largely on events we had already seen as we could see them from their perspective and I always find it very interesting; also, they did add some new stuff, even if the "main events" were already known to us. Now, the big one, Thunder... I have to disagree with you on the destination of where Frostpaw is being sent too, while I think it is possible she is being indeed sent to the old forest and about to meet the WarriorClan (I always knew they were going to bring them back somehow, just how they kept bringing back SkyClan until they dragged them into the main series), it is also very possible - and I am currently leaning towards this idea - that she will travel to the Park where Riverstar was born in. It checks out with Riverstar's Home coming out first to set that place up, and with Riverstar being specifically mentioned as the cat sending her there. As for who wounds her, I would wager that it was whoever was behind Reedwhisker's and Curlfeather's deaths as well as telling Tigerbully about the dried up catmint.
Yep! Currently working on Firestar, though admittedly I’ve had a bit of a writing block for a bit and thinking about some things as far as the editing/format of my videos, plus he’s in a LOT of books, lol. So it’s kinda been pushed to the side for a while, but I know people really like those (and they are generally quite fun to make!) so I definitely intend to continue. :)
Me: how did I discover warriors again? 🤔 Oh right…gray’stripe and silverstream animations😂 I’m so happy with how warriors in general is coming along! I’m joining testing for prey tonight on wc;ue and I’m almost finished with omen of the stars!(I don’t mind spoilers) I can’t believe I just hit my fourth-fifth book! I can wait for my 50th! go warrior cats!

And it seems fitting with RiverStar's Home coming out
I wish the merch was more varied lol. They copy paste the same art/pose over and over for different things.
Also why they dont hire more artist or pay for fan works to do the merch

Book 4 look so cool
Damn the Erins be pumpin out books faster than Stephen King
I'm very excited about these books!!
10:42 please let this happen! I don’t want another boring cross Clan romance!
I drew yellowfang for the clan changing lol

Make a life of Tigerstar video and maybe one on barley
Tigerstar is 2nd on my list; working on Firestar first :)
I kind of hope one of the ultimate editions has Ashfur as the protaigonist. But, Riverstar's will be wonderful.
NOOO SEOTEMPER 5TH 😢😢😢😢😢
if you're still doing talking videos i'd love it if you could try whiteclaw or leopardstar
