Solo here is everything. It’s not just difficult, it’s near impossible to play and only 1 person can really pull it off live, Marty Friedman. The problem is most have to sacrifice speed for feel or feel for speed and Marty managed to do both at the very highest level on this solo.
"spitting bars with the guitar" lmaooo😭😭 that's real , marty friedman is one of the best guitarists in metal music, I'm honored that you reacted to this!!
As a guitarist, I must chime in....ABSOLUTELY one of the best solos of all time. Marty is a phenom & deserves all the accolades he gets....If you like this, wait till you hear "Holy Wars." Megadeth have some great songs & I'd recommend pulling up the lyrics as I think the depth will surprise you.
Marty is an amazing lead guitarist this record was when he first joined the band and I’ve always though his playing style kinda made the band more melodic
Don't sell metal lyrics short. A lot of bands wrote very deep songs. This song for instance, the ending of a very toxic Long term relationship fueled by heroin, love and rage. He saved himself
Dave,Marty Friedman [Verse 1] This morning I made the call The one that ends it all Hanging up, I wanted to cry But dammit, this well's gone dry [Pre-Chorus 1] Not for the money Not for the fame Not for the power Just no more games [Chorus] But now I'm safe in the eye of a tornado I can't replace the lies that let a thousand days go No more living trapped inside, in her way I'll surely die In the eye of the tornado, blow me away [Verse 2] You'll grow to loathe my name You'll hate me just the same You won't need your breath And soon you'll meet your death [Pre-Chorus 2] Not from the years Not from the use Not from the tears Just self-abuse
I love Megadeth. This type of vocal is a little difficult to understand for a newbie. I saw them live and they put on one hell of a show. I dislocated my shoulder and gashed my head in the mosh pitt at that one. Do Metallica Enter Sandman live in Moscow that show was fucking epuc. Over 1.5 milliin people were there.
Marty and Nick Defined the sound of this album. I'm aware that Dave is a prick at times, but the guy has written some great songs over the years and there's denying that, but. I believe that Marty Friedman and Nick Menza made the masterpiece known as Rust in Peace possible. Marty is obviously a well known a great guitar player, but Nick did some incredible work on this album and his drumming really stands out. Him and Marty locked in with each other in a unique way and it made for some awesome music. This album is a big part of my youth and I will always cherish it, always one of my favorites. RIP Nick we'll never forget you man
I'd recommend pulling up the lyrics on another device so you can follow along - especially since your ears aren't accustomed to this style of music yet (this was a live version, which makes it even harder). Metal has some of the best lyrics of all music genres, so I don't want you to miss out on them. :)
Dude, I'm subbing with the hope that you start experiencing metal. Such an awesome band, but only one of many. Same band Hangar 18, studio or live, you think one solo is crazy? Wait till you about 20 dueling solos
Dave Mustaine used to be in Metallica and they left him at a bus station in New York with a ticket back to Las Angeles. Basically most riffs from Metallica biggest albums master of puppets, black album and ride the lighting were stolen. Dave was never credited. Dave mustaine when he reached LA he formed megadeth as a revenge band. He wanted to form a more aggressive, technical and faster band. Check out Dave solo in she wolf, live rude awakening. You won't be disappointed.
Complete Bullsh1t He wrote 5 or 6 riffs, which were used on songs from 3 different albums. And each album has like 8 or 9 songs. And those songs aren't even the most popular songs. A song is so much more than a single riff. I like both Metallica and Megadeth. But some of the Megadeth fans are toxic as hell. As if Metallica got their succes by the grace of Dave's 6 riffs.
Love Megadeth, but Dave Mustaine's voice even in the 90's could be hit or miss. This song in particular has Dave singing in a higher register. His voice, in my opinion, sounds better when he is singing in a lower register. For the best vocal quality, you have to go with the original album recordings. The music live is nearly always top tear. Some 80's recording with poor audio not withstanding. The vocals overall are not bad in this video, though the beginning was a maybe cringy. The "spittin bars" as you called it is refenced to in rock and metal as soloing. Marty Friedman, who is soloing here, was one of the best in the 90's, and still great today. The drummer is Nick Menza (RIP). The bassist is David Ellefson, rounding out the 90's Megadeth. Dave, the lead singer, rhythm and lead guitarist, and songwriter is the heart of Megadeth. After 40 years, he is still touring and Megadeth is still killing it. A few more Megadeth songs to check out in time, since you liked this song. 'In My Darkest Hour' but not the official version as it was shorter than the album version. 'Lucretia' off the fourth album. I believe as a rap fan you will like the way Dave sings this song. Plus, killer soloing at the end with both Mart and Dave taking a turn. 'Ashes in Your Mouth', Dave singing is in a more comfortable place, killer solo and drums.
A person who uses 'I'm a rap fan" to describe himself while simultaneously using the term "bars" to describe lyrics and/or guitar phrasing is a music simpleton. They have no business reacting to music. For they haven't a clue as to what real music is.

That solo you just witnessed is widely considered one of the best metal solo's of all time. Brought to you by the legend that is Marty Friedman.
Solo here is everything. It’s not just difficult, it’s near impossible to play and only 1 person can really pull it off live, Marty Friedman. The problem is most have to sacrifice speed for feel or feel for speed and Marty managed to do both at the very highest level on this solo.
This is very insightful thank you. Yea there are so many ways and spots where he could have messed up but he didn't
Kikko and Al pitrelli did a good job on this too. Marty is the goat though 🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@pattaccone Kiko yes, Al not at all.
@@goodini026 al was just so boring to watch , stay in the studio Al 🤣🤣
Apparently when Dave firsty heard Marty play it, he walked over and shook his hand afterwards.

DO NOT PAUSE DURING A SOLO ... EVER
I didn't know SORRY 😭
Haha! The metal solo police are here.
You know, the channel belongs to him. Who the fuck are you giving orders

Best time and best line-up of the group!
Agreed👍

Good Metal takes you on a journey. Each band unique. Dive in bro. Lots of greatness to explore!!!
Dave,Marty Friedman
[Verse 1]
This morning I made the call
The one that ends it all
Hanging up, I wanted to cry
But dammit, this well's gone dry
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Not for the money
Not for the fame
Not for the power
Just no more games
[Chorus]
But now I'm safe in the eye of a tornado
I can't replace the lies that let a thousand days go
No more living trapped inside, in her way I'll surely die
In the eye of the tornado, blow me away
[Verse 2]
You'll grow to loathe my name
You'll hate me just the same
You won't need your breath
And soon you'll meet your death
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Not from the years
Not from the use
Not from the tears
Just self-abuse
Craziest thing about this solo is that it wasnt "written" per se, Friedman improvised it on the spot and recorded it in one shot.
That's insane
Tornado is pretty much the Mount Everest of guitar solos lol
日本の番組でマーティ本人が言ってたんだけどヘヴィメタルの他にもやってみない?ってデイブに言ったんだけどYesの返事がもらえなかったから1人でやりたいからメガデス辞めたって言ってたな

it was only songs on kill em all, ride the lighting, and a riff on lepper messiah that were stolen
@yungjavi4998 four horseman was Dave's riffs, alot of the master of puppets riffs too were very much Dave's riffs
Dave was credited. Four songs on Kill 'Em All, and two songs on Ride the Lightning.
