I keep revisiting this video, over and over again. After all this time I think this is still the best electric piano solo performance on UA-cam. Just amazing stuff.
i grew up around Big Band and boogie woogie stuff. naturally started playing piano and keyboard with my pops. you sir, have spectacular talent, brother. i know plenty of people who can play well, but your composition with just your two hands is magnificent. much respect brother.
I had to watch this one five times in row. First two I was too mesmerized by your fingers running around the keys. Third time: "Man, I wish I could play the piano, but I'm nothing but a simple bass player." The fourth and fifth times I could actually listen and really appreciate the music. Very nicely done!

@Joshizzel It's actually a collection of free VST soft-synths and effects: Elec. Piano is Mr. Ray 73, run through a guitar synth called FA3Amp (Free Amp), then a vintage reverb called Voxengo OldSkoolVerb.

Awesome!!!! You are a master. I've been really getting into piano lately and you are such an inspiration. Your timing, touch, voicings, and rhythms all make it soooo funky. I feel bad if I just didn't do my research, but - YOU should put out a CD of your art. Your ways of playing over those changes are unique to you and are definitely something more musicians and listeners should hear.

So glad I hit this video this evening. Love to listen to a real Rhodes but this is fantastic. Great playing mate, excellent dynamics and touch. I was just waiting for you to make that half step up and then bring it back down ala Herbie but it didn't quite get there. Not a criticism at all by the way, just would have done it for me as you were peaking in that story. I love your playing man.

@MowieOnFirePeeing This is a slightly modified 12-bar blues progression in G. Chords are: G7, C7, G7, G7 || C7, C7, G7, G7 || Eb7, E7, F7, F#7, G7, G#7 || G7, G7, G7, G7. For scales -- it's mostly blues scales, but with some pitches taken from the various other chords, and some chromatic/half-diminished/whole-tone walks here and there...

@glik22 I'm using the Casio PX 330 as a controller, but the sounds heard here are actually a free software (VST) synth called Mr. Ray run through a software guitar effects rack to get a simulated tube amp sound. The Casio has decent e.piano sounds and a great action, but when at my PC, I do prefer the sounds I can get out of soft synths...
