Ginger ale or beer is the key ingredient in a buck which can be paired with a number of spirits or liqueurs. In Jamie Boudreau's Italian Buck he chose two Italian amaro as the heroes. The first being Cynar which is an artichoke amaro, and Amaro Montenegro. The lime juice balances the sweetness making for a complex, bittersweet highball.

Steve, watching you shake that thing reminds me of Andre the Giant holding a normal sized beer can, hahaha. Too funny.
I had a similar thought!
Even before he said, “I feel ridiculous shaking this thing”… you could tell he felt ridiculous! Haha
Sounds good. Need to pick up some Cynar, I still haven't tried it. FYI your text in the video says 0.25 oz lemon juice, not 0.75. I was confused for a sec when you said it had more lime juice but only said 0.25. Great video as always, congrats on 700k!
Clearly typed the text after his 7 shots😂
I feel dumb. I can’t find the link to the mini shaker and the cube molds.
I have all the ingredients for this and it does look tasty. BUT, I have to watch this before I watch the other because the was filmed first and so on lol....
What can I swap Amaro Montenegro for? Can I make this with fernet lol?
Try it with Fernet! It would be totally different... but I want to hear how it goes!
OZZY SHAKE!!!!!!!!!!!
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😊
Great episode! Absolutely hilarious!!! Can’t wait for the one that follows 8 shots for 800k 😂😂😂
recording and youtube release sounds a lot like time traveling . Great drink for low abv summer drink!
More videos after 7 shots! :D This is must try for the amaro freak like myself! Thanks and thumbs up!
That shaker looks like a toy in your hands lol😂 Thanks for the great videos
such a cute cocktail shaker haha!
Yeah, it's adorable! My favourite shaker but I've literally only used it a handful of times... it's more ornamental / sentimental to me.
Doesn’t sound like a ton of lime juice to me. My Dad used to make gin bucks all summer long and they had at least 1/2 oz of lime juice for 3-4 oz of ginger ale and 3 oz gin. Tanqueray when times were good. Gordon’s otherwise! Love your mixings.
I used 3/4 oz of lime juice (2:00)... but the text on screen displayed 1/4 oz.
Always looking for more cocktails that contain Cynar. Gonna try this one tonight.
Love the vibes AND the drink - seems like something right up my alley :)
Steve: "What is this? A shaker for ants!?"
Do shots you don't like 😂😂😂
An interesting cocktail perfect for the summer.
I do have a similar shaker even though it is twice as big as yours and i hate it.
The cap always get stuck and when i finally can open it my cocktail are too deluted.
I prefer one of my two boston shakers instead.
It's a very common issue with cobbler shakers... you don't get that issue with Yukiwa tools... they are next level.
For once I have all the ingredients for this! Looks fantastic.
Heard
A seven shot video heavy on the Amaro, Campari, Fernet, bitter spirits, etc...? I might make them all in one go and end up like Steve in that great form he brings out at just the right frequency! 🥃
bahahaha...too funny mate
This sounds right up my alley. I have regular Cynar and Cynar 70. Nmmmm side by side video??
I picked up the Cynar 70 after filming... but would be interesting.
@@StevetheBartender_ I know what I'm trying tomorrow lol.
Why did you not make the 7 shots for 700k the last thing you do that day is beyond me :D but it worked out
I hadn't planned for doing this one... but after a few shots I was on!
The lime juice measurement says 22.5 ml (0.25 oz). Figured I'd let you know :)
Yep, few ppl have mentioned it... don't know how I missed it!
@@StevetheBartender_ ope, didn't see that myself, guess we're all overlooking stuff today lmao
Fun fact: that gold shaker is actually regular sized, it's just that Steve's a giant
Haha, it's 230ml so it's incredibly tiny.
Could you do some summer session drinks or recommend? Ideally something that can be prepared ahead of time and not result in someone dying by drinking it all day.
Ha, fun video, and it sounds delicious. I might make some of those on vacation.
I make Italian Bucks all the time! It really is one of my go-to's. However I like to use the format to play with my amari collection and mix and match. I generally like to chose one amaro from the family with a rooty or vegetal (usually more aggressively bitter) quality (like cynar, campari, zucca, fernet, etc.) with one amaro from the sweeter, softer family (nonino, montenegro, ramazzotti, meletti, avaerna, etc). Of course, the ones using campari are more attractive with the nice red colour, but they all taste good and they are a lot of fun to play with.
nice tips!
So Ramazotti is a nice substitute for the Montenegro ?
@@thomasr9149 It won't be the same cocktail but it will probably still be pretty good. That's why I like the format.
He's still more coherent after 7 shots than I am sober.
"lot of ice for my friends" 🤣
I feel like that's a normal sized shaker and you're just that tall.
I'm stoked to try this one!
hey steve! i had no idea you had released a book, and i just bought it today and its amazing! keep up the great work.
Awesome! Thank you... I do need to promote it more on the channel :)
I enjoyed that clowny shaking 🤡
Haha!
Great video, I think the amount of lime juice written on screen might be incorrect
Oops! How did I miss that!
7 shots? Maybe?
Looks good
I do love that shaker might grab one. I think i have been discribe as Gingerly
They’re awesome little shakers by a company in Japan called Yukiwa.. expensive to ship.. a few specialist retailers in the US stock them but the 500ml one is $180 USD. I was using the 230ml size shaker.
@@StevetheBartender_ 180 dollars!!! Damn
@@gnomestavern8285 Yeah I know... I imported it from Japan many years ago... but I was buying it for my online store so I purchased bulk and paid wholesale. Definitely not $180.
@@StevetheBartender_ oh okay haha not going to lie I was practicing my speech to my wife about this shaker hahaha
I hope you are not doing a fernet shot, not so great!
STEVE!!! Being the BIGGEST Cynar fan in the Western hemisphere, I am obligated to try this!!!
Do it! 🙌
If you're a fan of Cynar (and haven't already), do try the Dukes Bar (London) "Negroni Torbato" - equal parts Cynar, Aperol and peated whisky (Sacred Peated English Whisky if you can get it).
@@dukes1971 Can I use Laphroaig in this????
@@dukes1971 I just watched the video of this cocktail being made!!! I will def try this!!! THANKS!!!
