    We're gonna put a stop it.......forever
That hits me hard because of the significance of haskins decision
The respect to the players who didn't get to play
Are now legends as well because what this game meant and became

I felt him on this because when he was in the bathroom they was talking about how the black boys couldn’t win that’s why he on played the black players the final game

I've learned a bit about the history (and chronological order of events) and - though that particular scene never actually happened in real life - said attitudes *indeed* existed. And this was not just at a fan level, but most major colleges, even by that point, either failed to actively send their scouts to recruit black players or outright ignored black players completely during the recruiting process.
And what makes this especially terrifying is that this was 1966! To put it simply, 1954 was when Brown v Board of Education de-segregated schools, and in 1955, 1957, and 1958, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, and Elgin Baylor won the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player awards for their contributions to San Francisco, Kansas, and Seattle those given years! By 1966, they had been in the NBA for years, where I don't need to explain to you how impactful they were!
And yet, despite *all* of that, most schools *still* were largely ignoring black players during the recruiting process! Only when they were too big a talent to ignore were they recruited (and often, even then, they weren't recruited at all! Baylor, for example, was never recruited! He walked-on at the University of Idaho before eventually transferring to Seattle after they saw him in Idaho. Even Bill Russell only received *one* scholarship offer - yes, from San Francisco)!
And sadly, that attitude *failed* to change significantly outside of the schools that those players played at and the surrounding areas. For example, Adolph Rupp's Kentucky *beat* that Elgin Baylor-lead Seattle team in 1958 for the title - yet the University of Kentucky would not recruit a black player to the school until *1969* (three years after this loss to Texas Western)!
It goes to show you how slow society is to change and how long it takes before racist attitudes are forced to cave and admit how wrong they are - even when the painfully obvious is staring people in the face!

He put only blacks because he wanted to show to everyone that all people could play the game of basketball!

He's playing them as symbolic activism.

My Uncle Harry Flournoy (the teammate Jerry addressed before the video ended) was co-captain of the team and yes Don played his best players. He was a good man and just wanted a team to win and handpicked these men to play because he saw potential in them and knew they just needed an opportunity to show their abilities. But it was also destiny because without this team and what they did, we would most likely not have had a Micheal Jordan or Kobe Bryant. Basketball was open at the college level to black players but it was very limited at that time and no championship players. My Uncle and his team went through a lot to play ball and they loved it so much that they didn't let the death threats and the whole world being against them stop them from winning. Don also got death threats for coaching them and received threatening phone calls to not let the men play. I was blessed to go to the premiere of the movie in LA with my uncle and my aunt Sukari his wife. She passed a year ago.... Just 5 years after my uncle left the Earth. There will never be another like those two. They were my mentors and I am grateful to have had such a close proximity to history. You should look at some of my uncle's speaking videos of you can find them. He was a great speaker and motivator.
