Why didn't the Greeks more actively oppose the Romans?

    Fascinating to know why specifically Greek peoples seemed to be okay with Roman rule, to the point that their descendants even continued to call themselves "Romans" under the Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantine Empire. I also think it helped that Greeks of the time were consistently allowed to keep speaking Greek and keep to themselves.

    Very nice video, but I’m pretty sure the painting you referenced is the battle between the Sabines and Romans, in which the kidnapped Sabine weapon plead to their Sabine family and Roman husbands to make peace.
