I am absolutely devastated to share with you that Federal prosecutors have decided AGAINST filing criminal charges in the death of Shanquella Robinson stating that they “do not have enough evidence available to prosecute anyone”. Clearly this is a bs excuse because there is VIDEO EVIDENCE. This is unacceptable and just adds to the growing number of BIPOC victims who will not get justice for the crimes committed against them. Shanquella deserves more than this.

I am Mexican and I can guarantee it is impossible for management to not speak English. It is a REQUIREMENT of the tourisn degree and any management degree. In a place like Cabo, nearly everyone speaks basic English. They just didn't want to talk to the father of a victim of murder in their hotel.

That’s one of the reasons (it might change after new updates about this case ) I think Khalil is THE WORST in this situation. At least it was quite clear that the other “friends” were vicious mean girls …so Shanquilla could at least relied on him right ? Yeah …No absolutely NOT. He was her CHILDHOOD friend , someone she truly trusted . As a black woman who doesn’t fight, I’ve always feared this. Not that I would be killed, but the fact that fighting is so normalized in the black community, that a friend would hit me and others around will let us "work it out", instead of stopping her from wailing on me.

I'm stuck on Shanquella being naked during the attack. The poor girl couldn't have been more vulnerable. What kind of person attacks someone in the nuddy? What kind of person records it? This case struck a nerve with me and I'm not sure why (besides the obvious brutality). It's quite chilling actually. I hope Shanquella's loved ones get the answers and justice they deserve.

This case reminded me of Tamla Horsford. Where she attended a slumber party and was found the next morning by her “so called friends” I remember when you covered that case. I still pray justice for her. Let’s hope this case does not just go away with no arrests like the case of Tamela Horsford and many others. They all deserve justice for what these monsters did to them!

Working with children takes a special kind of person, and her following proves she was well-loved and valued for her services. I don't understand how cruel the world is. What they did to her wasn't a fight, it was a assault. Not once but twice by people who she thought were her friends and I use that term very loosely. Wouldn't the doctor who was with her for the last hours of her life notice the knots on her head, split lip, and other signs of assault? Has this doctor been further interviewed for her take on what happened/if she was suspicious of the others there? As a doctor I am sure she should be able to notice the physical signs of an attack vs alcohol poisoning... As well as confirm if the time of death was 3PM or closer to 6PM!

Not that I’m in disagreement with you, these people are clearly monsters, but people on vacation may not usually have the money to stay extra days/week for the family to arrive. The hotel is still going to charge them and then the cost of food and changing their flight ticket, etc. just may not be affordable/realistic for everyone’s situation.
People who don’t travel to Mexico often have the fear of being held there when something happens. I have many question about what
Happend when the dr got there, was this an actual dr, or, a health care worker from the resort! Was money passed between everyone so the group get out of Mexico? My big question is who released the video? If had not come to light, this would have been swept under the rug.

It's like people are getting desensitized to violence...
Just a few months ago I was at a local street that is known for the night life and pubs, all of a sudden a group of maybe thirty kids (14 -17 (in my country the legal age of drinking is 16)) gathered in a circle while some other fee kids were fighting each other inside the circle. Instead of stopping it, the other kids were yelling excitedly and filming it...
I called police.
Thankfully they were there in five minutes (they always go around that area just in case they station a few guards) and disbanded the kids.
One of them was so beaten up they had to call an ambulance...
It was horrifying.

This video is even worse cause this isn’t even a fight ! It’s Shanquella being beaten by her so called “friend” and the others filming and encouraging them to fight instead of helping Shanquella and telling the other to stop. Poor Shanquella didn’t agree to this “fight” so it isn’t a fight. A fight involves two actively getting involved, here Shanquella is just waiting for it to be over, trying to protect herself. We need justice for Shanquella and for those “friends” to be in jail in Mexico.
If they can’t get them for her death(I pray they do) they should try to charge them with releasing her indecent content(not sure how to word it) without her consent. I know there is some sort of charge for that

You can totally tell the rest of the group made her the outcast. Just the body language when she walked into the room where everyone was says everything. She was calling out to them too and they didn’t say like oh were in here.
I’ve experienced ppl like this. They get in group situations and have to choose someone to bully to make themselves feel better. It was announced today that the Department of Justice will not be prosecuting anyone in the case of Shanquella's death...which is unbelievably disappointing, these so called friends are going to get away with murder. I hope Shanquella's family sues them in a civil case 🙏🏿🙏🏿

As someone that goes to Mexico once a year for vacation there’s no way management didn’t know English. Especially a resort that nice.

My heart is saddened, I have such bad survivors guilt …. This happened to me at 15 years old with someone I called my best friend, I was drugged , blood alcohol level above the legal limit and was almost kidnapped & killed by people I thought I could trust that I knew for years …
This hit so close to the heart I pray to god this gets more attention and we get justice 💔
something also similar happened to me. i was “graped” by four men at a college while my “best friend” since kindergarten watched. i was left alone with blood running down my legs and she had taken my clothes. i was drugged. that was almost 10 years ago. haunts me everyday and nothing ever happened because i was too scared to go to trial. i’m sorry for what happened to you. i’m sorry our “friends” didn’t protect us

I want to say something. Kinda different. The fact that The Others tried to make the parents believe that Shanquella passed due to alcohol poisoning, makes me believe they think the lowest of the worst about Mexico. They must have thought Mexico wasn't able to produce scientific & detective work, and thus authorities were going to remain oblivious of what they did. Please do an update on this case! It needs more attention they still have not arrested any of the murderers now 5 months later !!!! There have been new documents released by an employee & witness to the crime who works as the concierge to the villa! Breaks down the time line & explains a lot about how shady these so called friends were from the jump!!!

I’ve seen the video and it’s awful. She was beaten up. It was no fight, she was naked and kept backing off and saying no. And they filmed this? It’s so sick. I could not stand by and watch someone get beaten especially in such a vulnerable state being naked and all. Absolutely horrible. I hope there is justice for Shanquella and her family!
The “fight” video really gives me an eerie feeling they wanted to stage this fight to make her look violent so they could claim self defense. Deshanee is definitely angry in a hateful way to beat someone while they’re as vulnerable as possible, but then wants to pass as her friend when the investigation comes.

Stop "seeing the best" because they project and see the worst in you. Many perceive that you look down on them simply for being kind. Even when they ask/demand, even when the love is genuine. People who don't know love can not give it nor will they interpret your acts as love. The person who is impacted and self reflective was obviously sincere then as well. I really appreciate the fact that you don't refer to them as friends throughout this video. That always bothers me a little when you hear stories about the friends who did this this and this because no anybody who could do those things to you isn't your friend and shouldn't be referred to as such a friend isn't going to rob, rape, stalk, murder, or set you up. So no one who does any of those things to someone deserves the title of "friend"

I live near Charlotte, NC and I can tell you that a lot of us were very mad that her case wasn’t getting the attention it deserved. When the video emerged it really helped the case get the attention it needs. My heart goes out to Shanquella’s family. I pray for Justice in this case. Shanquella was beautiful, smart and successful. It’s crazy what jealousy can do to people.

I’m Mexican and live in Mexico and I had never heard about this case. Sadly, in Mexico most femicide cases are never solved because the Mexican police (and the government) don’t give a shit about us. Us Mexican women are constantly living in fear because if we ever go missing our families can be assured we will NEVER be found. I really hope the Mexican police hand the case over to the FBI and help as much as they can :(

Perhaps it is because I am in North Carolina but I was proud to see how quickly this case came to light. Too often, crimes against young black women are overlooked or not reported on entirely, but this case came out and gain momentum from the beginning as it should have. I think the so called "friends" are up the creek without a paddle and they all must be feeling it. I would like to know how many tears they cried for poor Shanquella verses how many they've shed for themselves since this happened. I pray everyone continues to fight for this family to get the justice they deserve. It hurts my heart to even imagine what this mom and dad are suffering.

It was 6K to have her shipped back to Charlotte. They did not leave her there, next of kin had to claim her body.
