- This week I'm checking out the ASRock PG34WQ15R3A ultrawide gaming monitor with some very neat features built right into the stand! AsRock showed this monitor at CES 2023 this year, focusing in on not only providing a solid gaming experience with the display, but also improving your network connection and desk setup aesthetics. If you're into customization or RGB lighting, this monitor might be one worth looking at.

Another great review - I now have serious monitor envy/ambitions...!
Can u point us to polychrome software? I just ordered this today prob a downgrade for me from 43fvu but im excited😊
damn thats a good price! my UW cost 1300 ish about 4 years ago
Hey kyle just got this today if i turn gsync on its flickering like crazy nomatter what fps. I have a 4070 so im good there. Thought gysync would be ok? And whats mptr or whatnot all greyed out in jdr
Is there 8 bit color only or 8 bit + fsr ?
Thank you for the review, to me sounds like a great option. I am about to upgrade from 27inch 1440p ips to UW VA and options are asrock, cooler master gm34 or dell s3422 all in the £400 price range here in UK. Just can't decide! Mostly for gaming, little media consumption. Don't care about hdr, oled display or other gimmicks, just the panel. I'm almost convinced to go with this asrock as it's 165hz compared to most other panel at this price, 144hz.
Thanks for watching!
Let us know if you made a decision, I'm between these options as well..
@@giorgosprince9794 3 weeks ago bought this asrock, without rgb model. I love it! Coming from 27" ips 1440p, this is something else! Once you adjust colours and play with Nvidia control panel gamma, contrast, hue, this monitor shines. Don't know if Dell would be better, but I do like this. Gaming is on a different level now with my 13900k+4090. Nvidia gsync works also. I can recommend it, black levels are great. I don't see much smearing not even in fast paced games. Some flickering when fps drops under 30 like on loading screen, think it was the same on my ips.
@@oXiGaming86 i'm planning on going for this from a 24" 240hz IPS I've seen a lot of hate about VA is it as bad as people say? i play a lot of fps games like Val
@@user-we8nc7fl7b i have the Asrock 34 for 8 months now, I think it's a good value and great screen. I play cs2, cod, and other casual games. There is some colour tearing as all VA panels have, not in all games mostly in cod, but you can get used to it. It needed some extra settings from Nvidia control panel like digital vibrance at 65%, max contrast and brightness from the screen settings. I still have my old IPS 27inch, my son is using it and every time I look at it I think it's a better screen than VA, mostly because of sharpness I think, the image looks more clear to me. On the other side, the colours look better on the VA. Don't think there are many curved 34 IPS available with this curvature, and I can't go back to a flat screen wide after using this ultrawide, is just an amazing gaming experience. Would I buy it again now? Yes for sure. Hopefully in the future oleds will be cheaper and with less burn in, for now this is a great value for me. If you'll buy it, it will take some time to get used to it from an IPS.
Does anyone have an idea what the minimum brightness is... it's a really important spec, for me at least?
The stand looks like the monitor has put two hands on the desk and is about to ask you if you know why you've been called into its office.
😂
Can it output 10bit bpc color depth?
What is the point of a tiny screen that can display small gifs? Can it not display anything else, like a clock or notifications?
Does it have 144Hz or does it jump from 165Hz to 120Hz?
Thanks for the honest review, although this monitor is a bit too gimmicky for my taste. I use a flat ultrawide monitor for gaming and productivity (I like the ability to have two documents side by side) and it is perfect for my needs.
Curved screens is not new.......
@@studog858585 i assume they mean the wifi antenna and the mini screen
The antenna seems like a nice feature, but the screen seems like something I’d never use since it doesn’t add up to my productivity. But a nice feature to show friends I guess
It’s just to look neat dude
do you recomends this monitor over the Dell S3422dwg? where do I live this monitor cost $100 more than Dell monitor
Same question here..
what is the model called? Can't see it in the title or description.
Asrock 34" PG34WQ15R3A
@@zahhhahhhh thank you
Love that’s it’s 2023 and the best battlefield game is still BF4
it's battlebit remastered now
Do u think this is better than the LG 34GP83A-B
Same question
What about a xbox series s unboxing
In your title you list the mini-OLED panel SKU but you're reviewing the VA panel.
Nope! This is the correct model number - I think you might be mistaking the mini-OLED screen that's on the stand for a mini-OLED panel
@@KyleErickson You're correct, thanks for info.
no worries at all! I think it could have been marketed so it was less confusing, you're not the only one who has mentioned this
nice indepth review but how the hell is this budget ive seen 34 inch monitors around 200-250-----this monitor is retailing around 400 hundred. so definitely not budget.
Did they say a price¿
$499 on min 9:52
@@antonio13535 thank you so much.
HDMI 2.0 is capable of 120! its this ponticular product that's limited.
Unfortunately, that's incorrect at this resolution. If you scale down the image with compression or subsampling it may be possible, but the bandwidth used is close to 18 Gbps, exceeding the specification for HDMI 2.0. On lesser resolutions, yes, you can push higher refresh rates.
@@KyleErickson hdmi 2.0 goes up to 21Gbps, or better
@@malikgod the 2.0 spec goes up to 18
@@malikgodhdmi 2.0 can do 4k 60 or 1440 120 right?
@@user-pc9mw3lr9e yes
nuh uh
