The medium “flat rate” box you showed was actually a “mailing box” which goes by weight & distance. USPS clerk right here! Took me a while to learn everything but once you learn it it’s easy! If you’re shipping within your state I’d recommend a “mailing box” rather than a flat rate, the pricing will be cheaper! Also the weight limit is 70 pounds even on the flat rates :)

@B Jordan if you're paying for the shipping at the post office, yes. if you do the labeling online & pay less than what you're supposed to its a 50/50 chance you'll get caught or not.
G can I mail a box without a return address? I moved houses and want to mail my ex some of her clothes back but that the same time I don’t want her to know my new address. 😅
Hey so I want to ship to the UK and thought of using the flat rate envelope. I'm kinda confused because there's no weight limit but then when i check the postage price calculator there's a 4lb max weight. I just wanted to ship small light clothes to the UK. I think the medium flat rate box is just a $1 more than the envelope? Any help would be great :)
I'm not really familiar with international shipping, but it seems like since different countries have different weight restrictions, USPS has weight limits for their international flat rate options. So if your clothes don't weight under the 4lbs, you'll have to go with the box.

I'm returning a luggage to a manufacturer, never mailed anything at the post office in my life (sad I know) but what do you recommend? And how do I go about it?

What are the shipping prices on the flat-rate boxes.
For books you might want to use MEDIA shipment and not the flat rate envelope. Most time it is much cheaper.

Some game sellers have said to ship those in padded flat rate envelopes with lots of extra bubble wrap.

This helped me a lot. I needed to ship a PS4, Nintendo Switch, and a few Blu-ray movies cross country, and I was pulling my hair out of what box to get. You can't really tell the scale of the boxes on the website and I'm terrible with measurements.

Glad to help :) So if you printed out a shipping label (if you paid for postage online) then you can stick it on the top of the box. If you're writing/printing out both your address and theirs, you put your address at the top left corner and their address in the center of the top of the box.
Hey! Great video, just have one question. Do you have to leave the package open for them to see when they ring you up or Can i close it beforehand?
You can close it, tape it up and add the addresses! They don't need to see what's inside.

With the Priority Flat Rate boxes the max weight is 70 lbs, so you should be good.

Hi I have two questions, so if I write in the shipping label hand written with my ow bought envelope for clothes do I still need a stamp? Or is me handwriting in the addresses on the package enough? Also, if I where to for example send a t shirt or hoodie would it be cheaper to send it thru the USPS boxes or just use my own ( this is with the shipping price of course)? I'm new at this and high key don't know what I'm doing lol.
No matter if you hand write the addresses or not you'll still have to pay postage. Stamps won't be enough. It's best to just go to the post office and have them tell you the exact postage and pay there. I think your best option would be to use a USPS priority or flat rate box. Hi, i have a quick question when you mentioned about the flat rate weight being under a certain amount for the boxes to be calculated at a certain price where did you get the info for that certain weight to price ratio.
Everything in our how-to's are from USPS' website. We like our information to be the most accurate, so we like getting it directly from the source: www.usps.com/ship/priority-mail.htm Here it says for Priority mail you can "ship up to 70 lbs to any state at the same price."
Question, do you recommend putting the package in the blue mail box at the corner or should we go to a postal office. And if we do, is there a specific place to put the prepaid packages that the buyer paid for?
You can't put them in the blue mail box, you have to go to the post office. If you don't have a prepaid postage shipping label on it you have to buy the postage at the post office. If you do have the prepaid postage shipping label, then at the post office they usually have a window you can drop it off at, you'll just have to ask where.

Depending on what type of Priority box you are using, you will need to use corresponding Priority postage. So for Priority packages/envelopes you'll have to buy postage online or at the post office.

Seems like you can purchase additional coverage up to a max of $5,000 (pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/503.htm#ep1063624) Scroll down to 4.0 Insured Mail and look under 4.2 Insurance Coverage - Priority Mail
How long does it take? I've been waiting for 6 days and my package still hasn't arrived. All the tracking says is "your package will be delayed but it's still on its way". Total B S and no information as to where the hell my package is...

I guess it would depend on if you're shipping a bunch of them together or just individually. If individually, it would probably be better to use a box that's just a little bit bigger than the cereal box and ship it priority. I think it'll be cheaper than using a medium priority box because it doesn't weigh much.

Question. I'm trying to ship a laptop but it's length and width are 20 by 16, so if I use another box from somewhere else, will USPS still accept it. and also on the box in your vid it said To and From; but do you mean like the exact street address ,area code etc?
Yeah you can use a regular box and ship it Priority. You just have to tell the cashier you'd like to ship it Priority. And for the To and From you put the addresses: your name, then under that the house number and street, and then under that the city, state and zip code.
i been trying to do click and ship with priority mail express. it keeps gifing me regular mail priority. what do i do?

I'd order from Uline for packaging stuffers. I usually have boxes lying around from packages I've received, but Uline and USPS has boxes. Stamps I'd usually buy at the post office. And envelopes I'd get a pack at an office supply store like Staples.

You can just write on the box! Sometimes they have lines where you can write the addresses. If not, just write your address on the top left corner and the recipient's address in the middle
