Here I am trying to find a solution for him to mail trading cards with confirmation in the cheapest way possible. So, the way you explained would only work if we bought the 1000 tracking numbers, right? What is the best way you think is the way to ship for him? It would be bendable for sure (protected in a top loader) and can fit in a regular size or even a smaller envelope.
Hi Marian! It’s my pleasure! Congratulations to your son! Yes, a Pokémon card is a perfect example of something to send via this method! However, if you’re worried about trying it out first, letter track gives you a free 5 tracks to see how it works for you (they did for me). Also, I know they offer lower amounts for more money per track if you don’t want 1000 off the bat (34 cents I think it goes up too). I didn’t know what a top loader was so I went and googled it. I found this Reddit post about a guy that has sent over 1000 cards in a top loader via normal postage with no problems.. so it is all good! Here’s a link to that post: www.reddit.com/r/mtgfinance/comments/4jydom/regular_postage_issues_when_sending_top_loader_in/ You could just drop the top loader in a small envelope but as I explain in the video, my perfected method would be to fold a sheet of normal computer paper in half and then staple the top loader within the paper with three staples, one on each open end. This way, the card is in the direct center of the envelope with no weight too far to one side. You can also print the packing slip onto that computer paper before hand to make it easy. Either way, this method is undoubtedly the way to ship those cards. If this will be a serious business, you’ll want to print exact postage stamps from your computer. With stamps.com (I use Pitney bowes but I don’t suggest it because they try to make you only be able to print onto long envelopes) it should cost 53 cents for 1 oz, 73 cents for 2 oz, 93 for 3 oz and 1.13 for up to 4 oz (don’t listen to the USPS 3.5oz limit for standard letters... that’s lies I’ve done up to 4.2 oz). The just add the amount you paid for the letter track and that’s your final shipping fee.
With letter track pro Is the shipping address automatically picked up by the tracking scanners or does it get the info from when its first inputted? For instance lets say i buy an item from an ebay seller that doesnt plan on shipping anything so they print out a postcard with their name and address then put the letter tracking on it but enter my name and address for the letter track which means the post card goes back to them but in the letter track system registers it as being delivered to me. Then when i message the seller he sends me the link that says my item was delivered when only the tracking number was on the postcard he sent himself,,,,,,,is that how the sellers scam could work?
I have Glitter business and I struggle since my glitter I sell is cheaper $3.50 per glitter then First class shipping. I place my Orders in thank you cards. They weigh less then 2 ounces. And Post Office wants to charge first class with Tracking which cost more then my Order. And some customers say Order never arrived, I’m stick with sending stamp, but now I risk buyers claiming Refund Order never arrived. It’s sooo so hard for me to do business with Post Office newer high rates and strict policies.
Harrison, I'm trying to ship a ring as a flat because it is way less than 3/4 in thickness. But because they "feel" a small lump, they rejecting it. But my argument is it fits and other sellers ship same way and no issues
Your best bet is to tape it in the center between two pieces of cardstock and place it in an envelope. Then pay the large envelope/flat rate via online electronic postage, and let your mailman take it. The best piece of advice I could give you is to stop going into the post office. Just let your mailman take your stuff or drop the mail in a blue box.
Update... So the post office returned my flat today. But they said it would qualify as a non machinable. I've read, searched and talked to other sellers that ship. My question for you is. Does the 1/4 in thickness apply to how thick the letter can be only? And Does that same 1/4 inch in thickness apply to non machinable letters as well?

So I purchased a ring from an ebay buyer and he shipped the ring in a padded yellow manilla envelope. He shipped it thru a flat which I was surprised and it made it too me. It met the requirement of 3/4 inch in thickness. So I want to try and ship a ring in a flat.

Apologies for the late reply! Exactly right. Currently I use Pitney Bowes to stamps and print directly onto envelopes. It requires a bit of finagling but it’s been worth it. It brings our margin up from 60% to 75% for our bendable product. Only thing they need to change is the ability to print directly onto 6x9 envelopes. It’s annoying having to manually adjust that part. Will be looking for automated options soon.

They have semi rigid top loaders that are more flexible and used for grading.

Etsy has this on their site free. makes it easy to sell low cost stuff that can be shipped in envelopes
Quick question, can you use basic for tracking or do you need full service?
I’m not sure what you mean by basic and full service? Just the lowest rate letter works. It doesn’t use typical tracking system barcodes!
