  • Last week was OCD Awareness week. I decided to share a little bit about what its like to have OCD. This is purely my experience and how I was feeling that particular morning. I may not have explained it super well so I added a few pictures. I'm still unsure about sharing this but here it is. I hope if you have OCD you know you are not alone. I think there is a stigma surrounding mental health and a whole lot of misunderstanding of what OCD is and that is why I'm sharing.
    OCD is treated with Exposure Response Prevention Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

    I related to this so much! Hate weekends because I think too much and get depressed. Thanks for sharing your journey with honesty. Uncertainty right now is a major problem. I find staying active helps too. I like Acceptance Commitment Therapy because it gives me permission to let go of the expectation that I am supposed to be happy all the time. Sometimes life is sucky and it’s okay to acknowledge that.

      Thank you. Im glad you can relate but also not bc of the suffering it brings. I agree about ACT, when I learned about it, it was a game changer.

    Jason is the same way. He has to be moving or doing something or else he struggles like you do. ALl you can do is accept that it is who you are and work with it! And I agree with Adventures of Deanna.....everything goes together and works hand in hand!!!!!

    Even though it is a weight loss channel EVERYTHING in our universe somehow effects our weight loss. Disrupting our sleep, causes us stress, leads us to overeating. So yes, bring it up. I guess if we are sharing our journeys it's important that people know are struggles. I am pretty certain if it was calories in vs calories out we would all have this figured out. But it's just not that simple. We have to contend with our brains that are not always cooperating. and YES we are all a little crazy in our own way.
    Exercise was never my favorite thing and the more consistent I am with it the more I want it and actually crave it. Now I just need to change my thoughts on it because I have habit of saying it is something I don't like. Working at changing the habit brain is hard.

      Thanks we did it yesterday in the cold rain.. It was harder than I thought it would be. I thought it would be easy bc I was on skates. Im glad I did it.
