  • The song was born in 2015 in the Columbus Theater, a run-down 1920s opera house in Providence, Rhode Island. Natále composed it in the dark, sitting alone on her friend's mainstage piano. Her only audience was the ghosts of the old theater and her friend’s cat, Puddle.
“Where Our Hearts Will Go” was one of the first songs Natále ever wrote. Its melodies start with a gentle introduction to a woman and a man, hinting at a potential romance, only to ask us deeper questions, reckon with life’s mysteries, and reveal our universal hope to belong. From the corners and crannies of a broken-down theater, Natále shows us that we can discover the noble secrets of the human spirit.
For years, Natále kept this song hidden on a dusty hard drive, a personal creation she shared only with her father on rare occasions. But his persistent request for her to record it led her to a makeshift studio space full of old 1970s analog equipment (1978 MCI 500 Console, MCI 87 Tape Machine, Fender Twin Reverb, Fender Bassman, Wurlitzer and Hammonds) in Mexico City. The band that came together had never played before. Some members were meeting each other for the first time. After a few plays in the studio, with Natále on vocals in the control room and the band in the drum room, the song was captured live - in a single, magical take.
Revisiting the song for the first time in the studio after so many years respired Natále. The song is a time capsule, transporting her back to those days when she was a buddying, scruffy artist pondering life, surrounded by musicians and muses, creatives and friends. This song is dedicated to them, and all the artists Natále has met along the way, and all those who she will never meet. It is a timeless anthem for all the creative dreamers who persist no matter what and who are on the cusp of everything life has to offer.
To the providence of every creative: to their divine guidance and care, and their timely preparation for future eventualities.
