  • Purchased a 12x30 shed and i really wanted to take full advantage of this so i decided to build a loft.
I did 65 inches tall, by 70 inches long by 129" wide. It was enough to cover the Zero Turn mower, and allowed me to go 2 boxes/totes deep.
I used (3) 2x6x12 boards ($11.72 each) 3 Sheets of 9/16 thick plywood ($30 each sheet), a box of 2 inch wood screws $12, 4 2x4x12 ($10 each) but did not end up using them yet, and i bought (6) of the 2x6 holders for my beams ($2 each).
Took me roughly 3 hours to get this all done which is slow because i was looking for tools and screws and other things i had, had to switch blade on the saw etc etc.. but knocked it out quickly.
I was able to sit up there, and pulled on each bar for good measure to make sure they were stable/able to hold the weight.
I do plan to add 2x4 jacks to aid in support as i have almost 25 boxes up there and they are 31# each so there is almost 800 pounds up there on that loft.
Good news is i am able to drive the mower underneath without hitting my head. So i am happy with the results and picked up a ton of space.
