My 1st actual rocket I remember building was a Estes Recon, sold it years ago. Wish I still had it, it was a great flyer and almost bulletproof. I used it as my sounding rocket to see what the conditions where. I got more rockets now than ever before, but miss that collection I had that recon in.

Hello Tim, this is really a very helpful video for the young rocketeers. Being a teacher ( teach model rocketry in India) I know the challenges to keep them continue in this field. Thanks for sharing your wonderful views through this video.

Hey Tim hello. Ya know there are a lot of cheap RTF starter rocket kits available cheap on shopgoodwill right now? And purchasing these help many peoples with needs as do these deserving childless kit's need homes to. But thanks for your video's and tips. You are an inspiration to me Tim.

My first model rocket was an Estes Alpha, and I would go on to build many, many more as a kid, even designed a few of my own. As a golfer, I can give a piece of advice about your color choice on a rocket (or a golf ball)...Sky Blue is not a good option. It just blends in too much.

,y 1st rocket kit was an Experilab Cobra rocket, $3 for 3. My 1st imported model rocket was a Viking, never saw it again, reason? C6-5 Estes motor.
I now know better. It has been 25 years since that day.
