The Estes Athena is officially in the running for the best model rocket for beginners. This thing is straight-up fun. When it comes to the basics of launching a model rocket, pushing the launch button and watching a rocket fly into the air this has everything you need. Especially if you're in a hurry to get a rocket in the sky, or launching with a young child who doesn't have the skills to build this is the rocket for you. - Навчання та стиль
I always feel good when I get a chance to fly rockets, been flying since 1968. Whether high-powered or low-powered, the rush of the lift off is thrilling. Love your videos, keep them coming.
Same here thanks Chuck! Hope to have as much experience as you one day.
You took me back to my childhood in the 70’s
I swear I had that same model rocket among 3 or 4 I remember having
My hardware was stock from the big toy store at the mall though
Thank you dear mother ❤
This channel is so underated
Dang thank you! Every sub, thumbs up, and bell notification helps us spread the word a little more!
Great video! I enjoyed the controller video! Gave me some ideas I have not yet considered.
Hey, I built a launcher, inspired by yours. Today was it's first launches and it went great. Thanks!
Nice videos.........hope you're still building and flying model rockets! 👍
I can tell the way you wrap that parachute that you had the same little hand tossed parachute guy the ice cream guy would sale in the late 80s early 90s
Hahahaha, maybe that's what got us dreaming about launching things into the sky
Brilliant! I'm thinking of buying the estes alpha 3 kit as I'm just getting into model rocketeering.
You'll love the Alpha 3, it's an awesome place to start!!
We need a far away camera to shoot the rocket speed upwards please
Wow, awesome, want to do too but I'm in Thailand I don't know where to get it
Nice
I love this channel! I just launched my first model rocket, the Alpha III, and I was wondering, would this be a good next step for me?
It all depends, what was your favorite part of the Alpha 3? Was it the build? (If that's the case this would be a terrible next rocket because there is no build hahaha)
RTF rockets! That's my kind of rocket.
Also in the process of building your launch controller. Some parts are still being shipped to me... I'll keep you posted!
Yes!! I can't wait to see it!! I love a good mix. Sometimes the build can be a lot of fun, but sometimes life is crazy and I just want to pull it out of the box put an engine in it and send it
Sounds like a Greekster works for Estes.
Wow okay superb! Just what I wanted ! I have a question for you are you going to stick with the normal model rockets or will you make something pretty advanced like flight computer and thrust vector control for your rocket?
That's the plan but not for a while. We're starting with the basics and hoping to build up to the crazy stuff. But if you haven't already go check out bps.space (ua-cam.com/channels/ILl8ozWuxnFYXIe2svjHhg.html) you'll freak out over what he's creating over there
Any chance to use micro video camera on the body of this rocket?
No new videos???? What’s up with that????
How do you not loose the rocket?
Hi man I launched a hi hi flyer
r how I m thinking to build one of them fully homemade I bought some tubes now I need is some kind of shape of the fin and the nose cone too pls help me
Love that let us know how it goes!! We hope to create 'homemade' tutorials in the future but don't have any ready right now
But maybe this will help 🤷♂️ themodelrocket.com/model-rocket-fins-101-purpose-shape-size-and-placement/
Bro did the booster and fuel and all launch pad and all were included in box ?
No. You'll see at 2:13(ish) a list of the things not included in the box to launch. We have links to all those pieces you can buy.
If you don't have a launch pad and don't want to build your own launch controller I suggest you look at a starter set like the Alpha 3 or Tandem X

Do you build any cool rockets?
Yeah dude, we're just trying to build content from the ground up. Cover a couple fun entry level rockets, basic tips for getting started, then working up to more advanced builds, scratch builds, HPR, etc...
@@themodelrocket220 Sounds cool man. I subscribed as soon as I found your channel and am hoping to see some cool kits and builds.
Hey I have a question. Is this thing reusable
Do you mean the rocket? Of course it’s reusable. I suspect there are model rockets that have flown hundreds of times.
The engines are not reusable however.
@@mplsmark222 Ok thanks for letting me know
Ok one minute in and I’m confused about the RTF Ready to Fly comment but then .. “but.. you’ll need engines, launch controllers and launch pad” 😬
I don't know about the Athena kit, but the other RTF kit I bought comes with EVERYTHING you need, including launch pad, wadding, motors and igniter. It's literally all you need to fly a rocket.
RTF just means the rocket is fully assembled, or mostly assembled, decorated with decals and it can save hours of time.
wackkkkk! just a lame video. Camera way to close didnt get to see the rocket’s trajectory or it climbing. thumbs down
