Funniest thing is that there is a OEM GT 1010, but it has GDDR5 memory so it still is better than DDR4 version GT 1030. It does not make sense at all.

As a former GT 1030 DDR5 owner, this is such a scam... They are milking budget gamers out of their wallet... Good thing I was able to get a good deal for a 3070 but still much respect for 1030 DDR5
Yes, just add an extra GHz on memory and 200MHz on the core and you are ready to game
There's actually one problem with GT 1030 - there are variants also with 2 GB and 4 GB VRAM. Main issue is the fact that ONLY! and ONLY the DDR4 variant of GT 1030 has both variants with 2 GB and 4 GB, the DDR5 variant is NOT AVAILABLE with 4 GB, only in 2 GB VRAM. This might be issue because despite the GT 1030's DDR5 variant is far more powerful, some new games might only run on its DDR4 variant that has a 4 GB VRAM since quite some new games will refuse to even run on the 2 GB DDR5 variant due to its insufficient (2 GB only) VRAM as they has strict 4 GB VRAM minimum to can even start successfuly, even for their lowest graphics.
Some of more recent open-world Steam games I have in my Steam wishlist, like Medieval Dynasty, Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will also refuse to run on anything below 4 GB (in GT 1030's case, these might work and launch ONLY on its DDR4 variant with 4 GB of VRAM), some of newest games, like Tchia and Ghostwire: Tokyo, has even listing 6 GB VRAM GPUs REQUIRED as minimum to be able to run, even for their lowest details.
Fr i didn't even know that there was a ddr4 and bought this because the prices are almost same for ddr4 and 5😭 I thought about saving my money to get a new GPU after a year but the scam hit me bad💀

Hahaha thanks for trying to kill Bob in Slowfield. That was a very hard challenge on the GT1030 DDR4. I guess on the GDDR5 model it might be possible to kill Bob there so it is a much better card!
And like always, thanks for testing and showing us the results. It got expected performance but was fun to watch. Apex Legends surprised me the most. Still decent graphics on 720p and lowest settings and kind of playable. Not bad devs!

The GT 1030 DDR4 version is basically the same performance of the older GT 730 DDR5. (had one) I actually own a couple GT 1030's but they are both DDR5 versions. What's nice about these GPU's is the low power usage around 30 watts and can play older games surprisingly well. I recently upgraded my media rig to a GTX 1650 DDR6 version. At least the GT 1030 doesn't heat the room? Stay away from the DDR4 version! Thanks zWORMz for the painful object lesson!

It's funny because this was my first GPU last year and all i wanted is to play rocket League, so when i saw that this GPU could play it perfectly fine i said wow that's a good GPU, so when i got it from Amazon and used it I noticed that the performance was nowhere near what i saw in UA-cam videos, so i thought "hey maybe its my pc specs not being the same as the ones seen in videos", but when i realized that it was ddr4 i knew i messed up since i didn't know anything about GPUs at the time. Now i got an rx 580 after selling that one and oh god this is heaven compared to that piece of plastic 😅
Never buy Nvidia if you are on the budget ;)

I have a question but would a i5- 6500 work good with a rx 580? i mentioned on your last 580 video i was getting one and here i am with it!! tho i got a i3- 6100 cpu and ive noticed the cpu is really holding it back getting 100% usage while the gpu gets 30-50% usage and the 2 cores really does make me stutter in games like fortnite. If you can could you try testing both the RX580 and the i5-6500 if you havent already!!! I'd love to see both of these together as the i5-6500 is the highest my motherboard can support with skylake and i havent seen any other videos *from what i have seen* using those two together

as someone who gamed on it till march, I am relieved. Though it did manage a pretty good gameplay. I played SOTTR on it at 40fps, albeit very low res. I have a 3050 LP now
Dude you must do a video using mining cards for gaming you can make it work with onboard drivers a driver patcher and some regedit changes, i got a p106-100(1060 6gb) and a p104-100(gtx 1070) for 20 euros both! p106 performs like a 3gb variant with some extra vram and i still havent tried the 104. Its really good for extremely tight budget guys.

From the same creaters of GT 1030 DDR4 we have more recently RTX 3060 8GB and RTX 3050 6GB. We have a lot more "GT" GPUs that have the same name, but completelly diffenet specs and performance, like GT 730, for example.

The hardest was getting amd out of blind rendering at least nvidia had the care layers for motion and sharpening data , that was the triangles and bar patterns being displayed by direct display
I bought the GT 1030 4gb in 2022 due to high prices of all graphics cards and I have ryzen 5 as of now I have played all popular games till 2014 on high and ultra settings.it was a good experience.
This card (not gddr4) is all my childhood playing half life 2 with her. So much memories

The GT 1030 ddr4 model is quite equivalent to ryzen 5 3500u Vega 8 igpu with 35 w tdp
and even outperforms gt1030 in some games such as fallout 4
In my laptop it runs on high settings 1080p at around 40 FPS
I literally asking for testing slowest possible gpu that fully support directx 12 few days a go , i think 1030 ddr4 is the answer , i did not expect to see it today :). i miss low fps and pixelated gameplay benchmarks

The low profile GT1030s are good to install into small SFF PCs to give them proper hardware acceleration in PC media setups. I have two in Dell 9010 SFFs for that reason.. as a gaming card, they are pretty terrible and hard bottleneck the i7 3770.. and mine are GDDR5 versions, I can hardly imagine how bad the DDR4 version is.

i have one of these gddr4 1030 cards, it came in a prebuilt during the GPUU shortage days, it is dreadful, not much better than a gt 730. I keep trying to put it into an office PC and sell it off, but keep finding 1050ti cards for $30 on Marketplace, and ethically don't feel right selling someone a PC with that card, because they are going to assume it is the gddr5 version.
