Great work . The Conklin Mark Twain Crescent Filler is about the heaviest pen on the block, certainly in my collection. The Penbbs holds a lot of ink but the filling system is a hassle to recall how to do so I might just clean it out and put it away. I have a twsbi Vac 700R and a mini Vac that have a portable mini bottle. The large ink cartridges that come with the Swipe I find are better to use than the converter.
Thanks Alan, that was a great selection of pens for August '21. I really like the Moonman F9 and think I'll order one. Probably get the same colour as you but they also do a rather nice looking all-metal version so I'm having a think about it. The Montblanc Alfred Hitchcock is a stunning pen but I am guessing out of my price range. I am a little intrigued that you mixed your own yellow ink. I would be interested to know the process. Can any inks be mixed together?
I'm not an authority on mixing inks (I've only done it this one time), but as a general rule you have to be very careful as certain inks when combined will solidify, thicken, clog, etc. I did an experiment on mine and tried it with a cheap pen first to make sure it was "safe."
Love these EOM reviews! I've owned a Mark Twain for over a year. Finally got around to inking it up and put it in my rotation for August. Now, I keep asking myself; "what took you so long"? Love it!
Absolutely love Pilot 78g+ with Pilot blue/black: all of mine are ‘EF’s’ of course but I’m tempted by that broad nib just for a bit of variation!; maybe you could do a vid on how to clean and maintain a piston filler using your Aurora 88?: any excuse to see more of that pen!:)
Tell me the truth: you have primed the Lanbitou's feed before the video! LOL This pen, either dries out or, directly, does not write. It is a big piece of absolute crap.
I don't think so. It might have hard started a bit, but I don't recall priming the feed when shooting the video. Sorry you don't like it, mine is "ok."
Very very very interesting! Fantastic!
Enjoyable as always!
love those Platinum 3776’s: my favourite pen + love that no.6 nib, mine’s an EF of course!:)

@@WhatIInk Thank you. I might give it a try.
Platinum has a mixable line of inks which might be a safe way to mix your own bespoke ink, the ink bottles are cool too!
