I couldn't get passed 3rd episode. The filler PTSD flashbacks, "did you heart that?", "what was that?" fillers, trying to heavily invest in background stories of forgettable characters, walking, lots of walking shots... Expected a sci-fi but found a HEAVY family drama.

This is such an awesome movie series for the whole family. It highlights determination, resolve, loyalty, quick problem solving, calmness/ self control amidst the chaos, responsibility, love and respect among family members and others... The episodes are exciting and well thought of. Wish Netflix would produce more shows like this.

Stars from the original "Lost In Space" television series had cameos in the movie. Maybe the cast of the movie might get the same treatment. Or at least there will be memorable references to it.

Love the show. My son and I watched it and we loved it. Every Robinson Character is fantastic. Each episode carries drama, suspense and heart. LOST IN SPACE is a Beautiful Sci Fi series. Cant wait for 2nd season.
Such an underrated, incredible show. I've rewatched it so many times. I feel like most people overlooked it or just didn't really give it a chance when it came out. If you stick around, the action and storyline become SO gripping. The characters develop so much and the relationships between them are executed so well. Not to mention that the graphics + music are just incredible.
I could talk about it for hours. It's just incredible. In several aspects, it's THE best show I've seen yet it is nowhere near as recognized as it should be.

Unfortunately. Race and gender swaps can be a red alert for many. It worked for battlestar galactica, but that has a large cast. Also the original was quite diverse.
The issue today is if the actors are blatant placements, rather than talented. These choices have turned everything upside down. Along with multiple streaming operators.

You're so wrong. Parker Pose is a fantastic actress and was pitch perfect portraying the pathologically self-centered Smith. You're not supposed to like her, you're supposed to hate her. You know what the Robinson's only slowly come to realize. Smith is a catalyst and arguably one of the most important characters in the franchise, no matter what version of the show/you talk about. I just wish we got at least one "My dear boy..." out of her.

This show, is really one of the best!! I finish all 3 seasons in just 3 days. not kidding lol.. the story, the highly budget CGIs, the soundtracks, and especially the characters played very well by the actors. Sadly, season 3 is the last season but definitely recommend it.

This show and entire series is honestly one of my favorites. Such good themes but also a family working together towards a goal. Graphics are amazing. The music is wonderful.

The show is so good. It's been a while since I've seen such an entertaining space/sci-fi show on Netflix. The characters and acting are great, the attention to some details (like how they are constantly having to deal with a lot of problems, that's pretty much space exploration in a nutshell), and the fact that I hate the villain so much because writing is great. Also, the visual effects are really fun when you compare it to the 60s series and even the 1994 movie.
Soooooooo are we all just not going to talk about how that's literally just a Geth from Mass Effect?!!
I'm not familiar with Mass Effect, but it would pay homage to the original series where the robot was actually Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet (IIRC)

Yeah I think he found Legion. Very different departure from the original robot in Lost in Space, but I like it. Then again I like Legion and so far I like the modern look of this

As a huge fan of the original series, I think this looks great! The one thing I’m still skeptical about is the Robot design. While I know the classic look is totally outdated and goofy, I still wish they would’ve stuck a tiny bit closer to it. I also really hope Robot isn’t the bad guy here. But even with that, the design’s really cool, and quickly growing on me. The series on the whole looks great, super excited!
PaleoKaiju10 Dr. Smith will still be the "villain" in some form Im sure, but I think Robot will end up being a good guy just like all past incarnations.
Or, instead of finding an alien robot, they could've had it they stumble across the wreck of another, OLDER earth-ship and find the Robot that team had used. That way the robots design would be closer (but not exact) to the design from the original.

And watertommyz, I get that Smith was orginally the spy, but I hope they do the thing from the original where he (or in this case, she) will bond with care about the Robinsons over the course of the series, I hope they don’t just make her the villain. But yeah, I still get where you’re coming from.
PaleoKaiju10 if there's one thing that I liked about the 1998 L.I.S movie, it was how they did the robot. In the beginning of the movie, the robot was of advanced design (looked nothing like the one from the tv show). However, after the crash, the robot was mostly destroyed, so Will took it apart and rebuilt it his own way, which ended up as the design of the bot from the show.

My dad's favorite tv Show growing up was Lost in Space and I was raised watching it too. This looks good, but absolutely NOTHING like the old TV show. I wish that they didn't use the same name and characters. I mean the B-9 robot in the old series is ICONIC and his relationship with Will and Dr. Smith was hilarious, this just looks like something way too different. I understand reboots, updates, and modernization can be really great in TV, but it seems wrong to me to use the same name and characters as the old TV show but to completely depart from it's comedic spirit.

Look at this, guys. A straight to streaming webseries from 2018 looks infinitely better than a big budget blockbuster from 1998. What a difference 20 years makes.

Since this will be a TV show rather than a film it might rather mirror the 1965 - 1968 show rather than the 1998 film. Much more material to put in (and perhaps milk from) a TV show. Granted, with perhaps around 50 mil today for a 10-episode show you can produce much better visuals than with the 80 mil they spent in 1998 for the film.
Yet I do not think the "straight to streaming webseries" has the meaning you think it has. This is not a webseries as webseries are meant to be (basically a 60 to 90 minute TV movie split in 10 or 15 minute "webisodes"), and there is nothing "straight to" about it, since Netflix's streaming medium is its original medium format. DVDs and Blu-Rays, the only medium that a "straight to" would apply to in the context of Netflix (and Amazon & Hulu), are released later.

I first started watching this show back in 2018 and breezed through Season 1 in just a couple of days. Then, life got busy and I completely forgot about it. When Season 2 finally dropped, it all came rushing back thanks to those Netflix flashbacks. I binge-watched from Season 1 to Season 2, immersing myself in the story once again. This cycle repeated until the release of the long-awaited Season 3 in 2021. Strangely, I didn't catch wind of it right away, so it wasn't until 2022 that I finally dove in, armed with a sea of Netflix-induced flashbacks to bridge the gap between seasons.
Then, for the entirety of 2022, the show fell off my radar. It wasn't until the beginning of 2023 that I decided to give it another go. Since then, I've found myself rewatching it about twelve times this year, so far. Every viewing brings the same level of excitement. Going through each season and episode is a pleasure, and I love imagining different outcomes. For instance, what if John and Maureen hadn't made it back to the Resolute after their perilous journey in the maintenance pods in the depths of space? Would the kids have had to find a way to carry on without them? And what if the Jupiter 2 never escaped the ice, and Will never encountered the Robot? In my imagined scenario, the family prioritizes saving Judy first, using the magnesium, and they face the challenge of freeing their Jupiter without the Robot's assistance. They'd have to search for another survivor and hope they hadn't met a similar fate under the ice.
I understand, I might be sounding like quite the "super fan" by sharing this lengthy tale, but I've been eager to get it off my chest for the entire year.
Thank you for reading, and while I'm hopeful for Lost in Space Season 4, my confidence isn't very high. 😔

This show mostly seems about Robinsons getting separated and then getting into trouble and getting out of it and then repeat all over again.
Sure, but it's the clever problem solving that makes it special. Sure, they are always getting into danger and trouble, like might happen in space.

They did it on purpose to show different scenarios/situations where Netflix can show their capabilities in production by creating new planets for new situations, new animations/visuals, new animals and more

Every part of this series is like a high budget movie each. What a masterpiece. Sometimes we're given really amazing shows but sadly the majority of the people prefer watching crappy series instead and cause such great series as this one to have a early ending due to high production cost and low incomes. Humans that supports the CRAP are to blame
