Jamie Foxx is phenomenally talented and generally is a pleasure to see, both in movies and in media interactions. Still one can discern slight distaste by his fellow actors in this interview that Foxx uses curse words and profanity far more than is necessary. For all Foxx's talent, he does not seem to have learnt that you can have the exact same roots/upbringing that he has, but still be habitually a gentleman. Mamoudou Athie does not have the name recognition of Foxx, but tops the latter in gravitas and self-presentation. Athie seems to have modelled Denzel Washington, rather than Foxx and Samuel Jackson. Jackson is another big star who seems completely unable to speak a sentence without using several profanities.
Stop! He is genuine and authentically himself. We are not a monolith, there’s room for all representations of blackness. How boring if we were all the same.
