I tried these flatbread twice with AP flour and whole wheat flour. The second time came out perfectly like the video! I've listed some notes for whomever wants to try it or tried it and never succeeded. I hope it helps 🌹 ▪Plan ahead before making these. It's an easy recipe but it's a little time consuming unless you are going to make a very small batch. ▪Using all-purpose flour makes the bread rubbery and chewy, but whole wheat flour makes it less rubbery and the texture is slightly close to the real chapati. ▪Use extra virgin olive oil, it makes your bread smell and taste really good! ▪Mix all dry ingredients, add oil and THEN add water gradually until you reach the consistency shown in the video (Not too thick and not too runny). Every flour absorbs liquid differently so you might need less or more water. ▪Water temperature should be lukewarm. ▪DO NOT whisk the batter vigorously, whisk it slowly. Because when you whisk fast it will create bubbles and the bread won't puff up when cooking. If you see bubbles in the batter wait few mins until it's gone. ▪Heat a non stick pan on the lowest temperature. ▪When you pour the batter into the pan, DO NOT not spread it with the scoop. Pour the batter in the middle and slowly move the pan in a circular motion to spread the batter. ▪Cook on the lowest temperature. ▪Do not flip the bread immediately, you need to make sure it dries out completely in the bottom before flipping. There is a chance it will break if you flipped it earlier. ▪It will take time maybe 2 or 3 flips until the bread start puffing. Be patient and don't raise the flame. ▪If you poured the batter on a very hot pan, the batter will start bubbling and if there are bubbles it won't puff up, it will turn in to a sad crepe :( ▪Once you're done, cover the flatbreads with a clean towel to keep them from drying out. These are the things that I have learned while making these. They are not exactly like chapati but they taste good and they are perfect for those who are too lazy to knead and shape a dough like me 😅 ▪If you want to make 1 flatbread for only one person, here are the ingredients: All-purpose flour/Whole wheat flour 1/4 cup Sugar 1/8 tsp Salt 1/8 tsp Extra virgin olive oil 1/4 tsp Lukewarm water 1/3 cup (maybe little more or less) 🌹🌹
Hi,it's Friday late afternoon in Cape Town South Africa.i have just finished frying the liquid dough chiapatis.and I must say mine came out beautifully it is bubbly and I am so chuffed by the recipe .😊Thank you for sharing .I love to experiment with food.i am 74 years old by God's grace.
Hi everyone! I am in Brooklyn, NY, USA. I enjoy making new recipes, too. Cooking should be fun and nutritional. I think I'd like to make more bread at home this autumn and winter.
I love trying out new recipes .I am 75 years old by God's grace and in good health and take care of My two intellectually challenged grand daughters while their mom works it the special needs School they attended ages 21 and 23 .I thank God to be able to do so.🙏🙏
Ok, made this again today. Love them. Since I am arthritic in my hands, kneading for flour tortillas is difficult. However, there is a little skill needed to make these correctly. Yesterday I made them and they were more like fried and I used very little oil in my pan. They looked like fried pancakes but they were still good. So today I tried again and it was a sucess!. Thank you for sharing this recipe with the old ladies. The best parts are easy clean up, no flour mess everywhere. Tortillas stay soft and do not taste like flour. 👍
I'm 67 yrs old now, from my kid time I never used salt, and oil. I lather butter and sprinkle brown sugar after it's cooked...but your way time saver too!(my way I use too much sugar at my age). Yeah I'm liking this better I actually kicked sugar 3yrs ago, I hate it...but I'm doing it your way soon!
Grandma used to make these when I was little. They were so special that I had no idea good people ate them around the world, I see by the different names they call them. We called them fritters in southern US. I forgot how easy they are to prepare. Thanks for this recipe 🫓
Thanks for the post ma'am it's amazingly superb and that's how my grandma made chappati with atta flour during the lock down. Medical student Malaysia keep rocking ma'am.🙏
Can't believe it's so easy. Why didn't I try this earlier. First thing in the morning I'm going to make it . Thank you so much for sharing . Much love from Sri Lanka ❤
I used to wonder what are proportions of water and Wheat flour so that we get soft Chapathis or Phulkas, now I know, also I learned how to make them properly which I failed trying before. Thank you, now I can make soft Phulkas for my Parents.THANK U SOOO MUCH, LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE FROM PLANET AYURVEDA!
I have to make them for church in 3 days and I thought 2kg would be enough, until I realized I'll actually have to make 5kg so I googled "how to make 5kg chapati without losing my mind" and your video came up!! 😂😂 I have made crepes before, it's giving the same vibe, thank you so much ❤
Recetas sencillas, rapidas, faciles y deliciosas. Combina con creo todo; queso, carne, papas. Para hacer mis tacos Mexicanos 😋 con picante 😜 FELICIDADES
Hi, it's a Thursday evening in Tilbury, just outside London England. I love this recipe as I have many of yours. I love the simplicity of your food while keeping it tasty! I have to admit adding chilli into everything! 😂
Wow! So simple but has wonderful memories to me. We were young, Dad opted that we sleep on the rooftop that night. It was cool. Soft light painted the walls. Mom brought those breads sprinkled with sugar. They were warm and delicious. I cannot forget that night. 😊 There’s a French recipe just like it but probably denser for it has an egg in it and cornstarch probably some milk, not sure but yeah, they do follow the very same process and serve it with honey. 😊 Thank you for reminding me of such lovely memory. 🤗🦋🌻

Super. C'est préparé rapidement avec peu d'ingrédients. En revanche, la cuisson demande du temps. Peut-on faire ces chapatis avec de la semoule ou d'autres farines ?. Merci pour votre réponse.
So easy, so simple!!! I made it this evening. Questions: Can you use milk instead of water? And how about some additives like eggs, mashed potatoes, small amounts of finely chopped veggies, ground meat etc?
This is amazing! Thank you for the recipe I will make it tomorrow for breakfast. Best of luck and health for you. I'm looking forward for new videos of yours.

Disclaimer : for this recipe use a non stick pan , otherwise that mixture without an egg ussually sticks down and breaks yp while turning it.
The oil prevents that
@@Meme-if8jt not for a runny mixture
