i can confirm that load out weight. the average packing list can weigh anywhere from 40-60 lbs depending on the commander, plus if you were an RTO 240 gunner, mortar man, etc. you would have to fit your base plates tubes extra barrels alternate forms of coms and extra batts. for all those systems as well. As for the belt buckle we never used them they would be in the way of our combat loads and ifacs

Luke, I have this bag and I take it fatwood hunting, just the other day I had 97 lbs in it and buddy let me tell ya one thing, I was happy when I got back to my truck.. I've owned one in acu for about 12 months, it's so heavy empty but indestructible. Plenty of room for gear and food, water, etc. Well made and comfortable once your buddy has put it back on you lol. I paid £70, around $85 in the UK. I sprayed it OG with Krylon to a civillanise it and because I hated the pattern. Great review as always.

I bought one of these in sept. You are correct sir. They are huge to say the least. Must be very careful with what you pack as can overload quickly. But to me its very comfortable to carry.

How in the heck did I miss this bag? I' had been keeping an eye on Ebay for the USGI sleep system already, and the fact that this bag has a compartment specifically designed for what I'd consider to be the bulkiest part of your kit is pretty dang awesome. Good find, man!

Luke , ive watched a ton of your videos and never payed attention about this pack. I've bought 2 different packs to accommodate my gear. None worked. Bought a molle 2 and love it. Bought it at mil surplusfor 44$. Very comfortable fully loaded. Love your videos.

I have one, bought it brand new 250 canadian. I take this winter camping in Canada. Fits all of my gear and warm clothing for at night. No pocket for a reservoir but I make it work. I took off the sustainment pouches for being not so wide whilst navigating through thick canadian wilderness.

For anyone thinking about buying this pack , it weighs 9LBS. When you do hiking/wild camping, the weight starts to add up but this is a bombproof pack with large amounts of room. So beware, I'm returning mine. I really want to keep it but just can't justify the weight. Good luck!

Thanks for the review. I was going to buy this to use for school until I saw this video. It's HUGE! I didn't realize how big it was until I saw you next to it. Lol. I would look pretty funny using this as a book bag. Even though my classrooms are pretty big, I would be ramming into everyone everywhere every time I turned around, lol. Thanks great video. This would be a great bag to use as a shtf bag. If nothing else that to make sure you have all your stuff in one place, one bag, as it were. Thanks mate.

Just got one of these from Sportsmans Guide for $50 incl s/h! Took off the sustainment pouches as I don't like how wide they make the unit. I'll use them for organization of packed items inside. I prefer more streamlined external molle pouches like the Helikon Tex units on one side and I have Maxpedition IFAK and 10x4 bottle pouches for the other side. Great pack for the $!

Cool!! I believe I have just found my next pack! I have been using a Fox Outdoor Australian Military "Style" Rucksack for many years now. It's kind of small, but has a lot of D rings, I think it's comfortable and for me, it's good for 3 or 4 days. But I turn 50 this year and I want to start taking some luxuries and need the room. I prefer simple packs that I can attach things to and modify. This one looks perfect!! Thanks and a thumbs up. I'm subscribing. I like your videos!!

    • @cthulhu6697
      @cthulhu6697 4 роки тому

@@jameshargroder7090 I'm doing that as well, People whine about hating the camo. A lot of my gear is a bunch of camo patterns and solid colors. It's not about looking cool, it's about surviving with your skills and having quality gear to help you ( I pretty much always go for surplus rucks and gear above civilian gear, except for things like some MOLLE pouches and so on, because surplus is generally superior in every way ). I think ACU Digital makes a great woodland Winter camo and think it looks pretty cool. I'm getting lots of good stuff. I get tac vests, mag pouches, you name it, because people whine about camo patterns and pay double or triple for the same item because it's a different camo pattern. You're right, it's good news and more for me

Best quality of a Molle 2 rucksack: wide. It's not huge in volume (80 liters is kind of a standard) but the wide form factor makes it perfect for a big sleeping bag. I'm not really a fan of external/ALICE type frames; personally, I would choose an ILBE or a Bergen type over an ALICE, but this MOLE II looks tough.

+Sunsetpeople I have the same problem with over-pricing from Russian sites like Grey shop.ru and The Soviet Russia.com. I like AKs and hate M-16s. Since everything in America is centered around AR-15/M-16, I normally have to shop Russian sites to get the authentic military gear made for AK-47/AKM. Shipping from Russia to U.S. is expensive. I have 2 AKs so I got 2 chest rigs to go with them. The Spetsnaz Tactical Vest EMP was $60 U.S. on The Soviet Russia.com. With shipping, it was more than $100 U.S. At Grey Shop.ru, I bought the "Vest Alpha" made for the Russian military by ANA. It listed for $104 U.S. on the site, with a 10% discount for the U.S. I paid substantially more. I'm getting ready to buy a third AK because someone is offering me a sweet deal on the very good Yugoslavian M70 rifle, their version of your AKM, and I want a Smersh system to go with it, but they're so expensive. Your military also has some rucksacks I want. The Edelweiss is a huge backpack with lots of MOLLE, similar to our U.S. Marine Corps ILBE 90 liter ruck ( which I have, along with it's assault pack, but I want a couple Russian military rucks as well ) but they cost a fortune. It's the same with Russian military rucksacks I want that are made by Splav, SSO/Sposn, and so on.
I would like a real Kalashnikov AK but they cost a fortune here. Even the several Russian Izmash magazines I have for the AK cost a lot of money, both for the steel and the orange Bakelite, and I bought them used surplus. I think it works both ways on shopping and shipping when it comes to Russia and the U.S. , it's gonna be expensive

The waist strap buckle is garbage! The lip that engages the button to release the buckle wears with time. Pretty quickly in fact. I put on a regular side release buckle for the moment but I plan to get a metal cobra buckle soon. I don’t put the sustainment pouches on it because it makes the pack too wide to go through tight terrain.

I got a MOLLE pack (not this pack, it is the pack that has the main pack and sleep system as two different packs). But I was wondering if anyone has tried to do a bucket mod for the top pack. And if so what dimensions should my bucket be for the best fit? I’m using this pack as my INCH bag. A way to haul a lot of water or game all at once would be awesome. It would also give the pack some form and fill it out so I can utilize every square inch.

It fits 5'4to 5'10 fine depending on the girth of the person's body.It can be adjusted based on the shoulder straps attachment point,it has two. Also the waist belt can be adjusted turned with curvature up or down and how tight it is on the frame without damaging the frame or belt. The material is highly water resistant not waterproof, use dry bags as supplied. All the best.

Hope you can help me. I got a incredible deal on all this. I have the rucksack, assault pack, waist pack, water pack, 5 piece sleep system, poncho and poncho liner and the gortex rain suit. I don't know how to attach all the packs together. And where is the best place to put everything, where it goes and how? I looked on UA-cam, couldn't find any videos on this. Thanks for any help. Hope you could do a video on this.

      Hey there brother,
the MOLLE II is an awesome set and honestly, I haven't seen a source of information on how to connect it all together. If I had the entire system I would make a video for you.

Kinda wished I’d got this one instead of the FILBE. It’d been a lot cheaper

Luke let me ask you a question. I have this Molle II Rucksack and was going to use it on a 10-11 mile overnite backpacking trip. My loadout with this pack was right at 40 lb.with this pack. Considering this pack weighs 9.5 lbs I panicked the day before and rushed to Walmart and bought a Ozark Trail 65 L pack. It brought the total weight down to 34-35 lbs. It actually did better than I expected considering how cheaply made and almost no frame to speak of. Would a person be better off carrying the extra weight of the rucksack considering the frame and better hip support or sticking with a cheaper lighter pack like I have. I'm 66 years old and my back isn't that good. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

If I were to get one of these gigantic packs this would be the one. Just don't have any use for something this big. Most of my gear is light and compact.

Light and compact means not very durable unless you're just going to use it in the warm months on little recreational excursions 1 or 2 times a month.... those military packs are made for war.... not for those little REI butterflies

Go to CIE HUB for the PDF file of the instruction manual mtraatorie25. It’s too involved to break it down in detail on a UA-cam comment.

Cool. I bought one off of ebay awhile ago. I didn't like that it doesn't have compression straps, but I rigged some, and they work ok.
