I agree, this is a nice size. With a bigger board I find it harder to have an immediate overview of the position. The playing surface of this particular board is 60cm by 50cm. This tournament is "bring your own board". Most matches are played on the board of one of the players (the matches recorded for this channel are an exception). If both players insist on using their own board, one is chosen at random.
A 5 point match is indeed very short. The reason is that we want to have a complete tournament in one day, and finish in the early evening. "this level"? Yes, some of the players are of a very high level, but the Leuven Open is a friendly tournament, open for players of every level. The focus is on the fun of playing the game.
also i think that steve is "breaking" the clock on purpose... he is always with less time and he clicked that middle button to get more time... i realy want this guy to loose!

This year Geert Van der Stricht was again a quarter finalist in the world championship. Congratulations to Geert.

Just a 5 point match? Really? Why so short? That surprises me. Aren't all matches at this level longer than this?
What is the size of the board that is used in these Tournaments? The size of the board and pieces looks very comfortable for long play.
I can't believe Steven did not break the anchor at the end of the match. It's elementary stuff.
At 13:10, I swear he roles a 3/1, comes in on a 2, and takes with a 3..
he roles 3/2

İlk elde kesinlikle katlamayı kabul etmeliydi.Oyun daha ortadaydı.
