I love how genuinely happy he seems after the game. I imagine It must feel a lot like running into an old friend you haven’t seen in a while except that friend is a part of who you are.
For me Kasparov is the best chess player of all time. Considering the fact that in his youth he couldnt exercise with KI or online, and the fact that he still manages to beat the best players of today shows what a genius he is.

I just learned more about chess by studying Kasparov's moves in this game, than everything else i have ever watched or listened to about chess before combined. What this genius is able to pull off is absolutely mind blowing. He doesn't think 2 steaps ahead, but rather 20. He knows what the enemy will do, before the enemy even knows it. What an incredible human being. We should all be glad, that he doesn't uses his powers in a tyrannic way.

I love that Garry was so happy beating Fabi. Despite the fact he is arguably the greatest player of all time, the modern computer aided players are so highly rated. Amazing he can still take them down.
Been a Kasparov fan since the mid 80's. Arguably along with Fischer the best player of all time. His defeat against IBM's computer was a complete irrelevance. After all who could compete against a JCB in a weight lifting competition? It was a a milestone in machine learning but did not in any way diminish the inherent depth of talent displayed by the genius boy from Baku! Long live Kasparov!
To be fair, he beat Deep Blue in their first match. The IBM team was also allowed to study Kasparov's games, and wouldn't grant Garry a rematch after he lost.
If Fischer, Kasparov, Kramnik and Karpov etc. have played in this era in their younger years where chess engines are available, you can imagine how formidable chess players they can be.

I think chess engines are a zero point. There is no comparison of pre to post this event. Fischer was finding moves by playing with himself. Now moves are generated by player or team through solution engines. And Morphy. Capablanca were astonishing good

He took the usa champ! That's pretty good. And at blitz! Being a former state champ & conference champ...we got 1 minute between moves. So odds are that if he can win at blitz now....that he is better now in many ways. I have picked it up after 25 years and it's tough. I am winning 90% of matches but losing constantly on timeouts. Winning by 3 to even 9 points and then losing on time. Last night, up 7 & losing on time. So kasparov is doing something amazing adapting to new rules and styles.
Obviously Kasparov played very well, but Fabi played very poorly for that level. First, he never should have played 8.e3 to play 10.d4 ceding space. He was just worse after 10.d4 e4, and his pieces could not easily get back to the kingside with the Pe4 jammed down his throat. By then, 10.d3 was required, just being a little cramped. The more normal 8.Nc3 with the plan Ne1-c2-e3 and then one of the knights goes to d5 was much better. For better, or worse, regarding the d3 square, he needed to play 13.dc and trade the queens and rooks down the d-file. Of course, later he needed to play h3 so on h4 by black, he could keep the kingside closed. Lastly, the whole Ba3 was WAY too slow. 16.Rfd1?? allowed the Bf5 to join the attack with tempo. It was totally over from there. Fabi has improved his rapid an blitz dramatically since then, but his judgment and intuition in that game was horrendous.
