Hey Les I love your videos and you offer a great variety of knowledge on survival. One overnight in West Big Bend I stayed in a cave overhang, put up thorny barrier and metal chime alarms. Javelina came to the outside late at night investigating and left. In the morning I hiked down to the river and went through a wash in Very rough country navigating boulder obstacles. Finally it turned into a little canyon and you could see cow trails to a similar spring like what you found. I didn’t drink the green water but felt like finding it was a relief. The next day I climbed back out on the trail in a foreign wasteland with hidden secrets. Thanks for sharing Your skills.
Two things, wrapping the copper tube with a seawater soaked rag will increase the still output. Two, bees and birds head to water morning and evening, you can follow them. Bees usually will only live within two miles of fresh water. Hiking in dry desert bees have somehow followed me and contiously drank my sweat.

Being a Canadian and living in cold climate you did really well in that area, as an Alaskan I have a difficult time in hot climates. Your primitive fire skills are very good. I have learned most all primitive friction fire methods and I like the methods used by west coast Alaskans the best. I actually mastered these techniques and have taught many their methods.
Les, I know it's late in the game for it, but I'd have loved to have seen you collaborate with Cody Lundine on something. You both have similar "go slow and use your head" approaches and both with encyclopedic knowledge at your disposals...I think that would have been something fine to behold. Thank you for all you've shown us.
The first hint that there was fresh water inland was that the Island was home to the Seri. The next hint was the presence of coyotes, they can't drink sea water and survive. Water is the most important thing in desert survival. He wasted a lot of time before deciding to look for a water source. An average person needs about 1 to 2 1/2 gallons of water a day, depending on the time of year. The more active you are the more you need too. I worked as a carpenter in Las Vega NV. working in the hot sun, in the summertime I went through 4 gallons a day and didn't pee until after I went home at the end of a day many times. Wrapping the stills pipe in wet rags or seaweed would have increased its output. Why he didn't build several solar stills on the beach is a mystery to me. US Navy has a great survival manual that shows how to build then out of several different materials. Animal tracks are one way to find water and another is bees. Bees need water to make honey in addition to nectar from flowers. WAsps also need water to build their nests. Water in the open evaporates very quickly, so it will be found in sheltered spots or where there is a stream bed then if choose the right spot, you can dig for it. Another source of water was the prickly pear cactus, fruit or "the beaver tails" aka leaves, or the low growing cactus I saw in one of his shots, when you burn the spines off with fire it is also very tasty and retains a lot of water.
I'm from Hermosillo City and that island is huge yet so dry. It's the biggest island in México. ¿Les in your experience and perspective is the Sonoran Desert difficult to survive/challenge it compared to other harsh places you've been to?
I've come to see you very late Mr. Les and I hate that but I must say this is one of the greatest things I've seen and you've put a lot of things into perspective for me in a way I've never had before. I've always respected nature but you've brought me to a new light and meaning. How people had to survive before we take it so much for granted. I'm going to learn that bow drill technique.

Hey Les! Been watching since i was little and have always been entertained by your show. Thank you for uploading your show to UA-cam.
I feel like he's one of the only true survivalists, so many people pretend to survive while they have a whole camera crew.
Yeah, if I got to choose between anyone like Bear Grylis etc and this guy, Survivor man would be my choice without hesitation. He and his wife actually spent a year in the woods far away from civilization
The only one better in my opinion is Cody lundin
@@RamboRaptor92 Not to forget Ray mears..
@@sedat850 Ray's show on wild food with that hilarious professor trudging along was so, so good.
Ed Stafford for sure
I freaking love you Survivorman Les Stroud you're the best and you've taught me so much things that I've helped me get out of sticky situations
came to learn survival skills, stayed for the harmonica
you're a legend Les! I've been following your work for over 12 years. Ever since I started college studying Geology. Thank you for posting this
I was so thrilled to see that his heel healed
There was no hill for him to die on
Hes also sometimes quite hillarious
Hi’ll have teach me some surviver lessons sometime
Super respectfull to his surrondings and ancestors traditions i love it!
Great series!! I love the knowledge and wisdom you share Les. Respect
Legend has it, the crew never came to get that camera and it still records to this very day…… 46:00
thanks for making these avaliable for all Les, even if the tv people insist on only airing garbage its obvious to see the effort you put in and it is appreciated, good luck on your future travels
I'm so happy to see this series uploaded to youtube! I used to watch Survivorman with my dad years ago. Great memories :)
I think this video had my first issue ive ever had with survivorman. He went back for his fire because he said he didnt have any matches. It looks like hes got a ferro rod in his knife sheath, which would be easier than going back on a 15 minute walk just for the fire.
That Mexican heat might as well be Mars, so inhospitable. Les is king
of nowhere lands.
“Human beings always take the path of least resistance,” he says in the middle of a voluntary 10 day survival mission in the middle of nowhere.
FYI, Everything takes the path of least resistance.
I love u, Les.. you've taught me so much and use ur teachings every time I go camping...I like to do it the real way, with intelligence and patience....I hope u know how much ur videos do for people, including me...thank u for everything u do, ur truly an amazing man
Being a Canadian and living in cold climate you did really well in that area, as an Alaskan I have a difficult time in hot climates. Your primitive fire skills are very good. I have learned most all primitive friction fire methods and I like the methods used by west coast Alaskans the best. I actually mastered these techniques and have taught many their methods.
Weird flex bro
@@snowonyouhoes He wasn't flexing. Now stop being sad about your pee pee. BRO
Oh okay my bad you must be a master at survival also
@@snowonyouhoes stop insisting on looking like a loser on the internet.
Please teach me to survive these insults. Yall are the masters
Survivor man inspired me to learn about survival and prepare to survive in times when survival was not guaranteed.
I feel like a live Strou- err.. I mean live stream hike would be so well received here
I feel like till the day I die. I’ll randomly check every couple years to check out les
I literally waited for part 2 every day checking your channel. Great job!
Survivorman is on UA-cam! My life is complete but I'm never getting off the couch again! 🤣
Spirit of the land healing the soul. I love it. Thats why you're the best, you respect mother natures power and beauty. Thank you Les 👍

LOOL Bear bro where you at
@Kill Them All he’s very active still. Has several Netflix series.

I must of drank 3litre of water just watching u les in that hot sun.
You know a man is hungry when he is wielding a scorpion hotel in bare feet.
I really wish your show would come back on. Huge fan Les. I’d like to try every location you have been to and see what I learned
Film it
You've earned your blues chops for sure. Cheers. Train keeps a rollin
