Is it just me or does this episode come off as more intense than others? Maybe it’s because this is earlier on in Les’s Survivorman career, but you can feel his stress in this one (especially during that first night in the jungle). It’s interesting comparing it to the last episode, where he stays out in another jungle. He says “In the jungle you just have to get used to the fact that things crawl on you at night”. It’s as if it all comes full circle. Whatever it is, this is the episode that made me realize that Les is really out there. Like I actually realize that his in a dangerous environment and could potentially die. The viewer knows that Les survives, but he doesn’t know while he’s filming.
In general, South/Central America jungles are the most intense episodes. There's one in Ecuador with his son that's kinda brutal, and it's pretty late in his career.
I got those vibes too. At the beginning he only stayed at the shore line, like he was hesitant to go in the jungle, trying to feel out the area first. Can't blame him, those jungles are full of things that'll kill ya, the plants, the bugs, the predators. It's also incredibly easy to get turned around and end up lost, that's game over. Super intense, probably one of the most dangerous place he's ever been and he captured it so well, his apprehension and caution was palpable. Les is and always will be a badas; Survivorman

Les at the end when you said “I’m looking forward to some snow” I felt that. Last summer we had record heat in Illinois and I was outside all day everyday. Regardless of hydration I kept succumbing to heat exhaustion and heat stroke a couple of times. This winter I’ve been appreciating the cold and dreading the heat to come!
In survival situation I think cold/ snowy region is the main killer. In hot desert you can at least take shade only move at night to preserve energy, but in cold environment just Keeping body temperature itself is already consume so much energy. Let alone finding something to eat. Keeping body temperature is more important in survival rule of three
I’m with you on hating the heat, it’s unbearable here in Tennessee from pretty much April through October, and I can’t stand hot weather. Put me somewhere cold wet and foggy or snowy and I’m fine. Even the desert is better because it’s dry heat and it cools off at night. Here it gets over 100 degrees regularly. Makes parts of your body stick together that weren’t meant to be stuck together. 🦇

lolololololololololololololol
Thanks for putting these on here. When the world gets to chaotic I put one of your videos on and it helps to simplify life. Are my basic needs met? Yep, thankful and carrying on 😊
On another note, I watched all these when they first came out and have used many of your survival teachings to get me out of jams, both while wandering around Ecuador for a few years and while at work as a landscaper in Eastern North Carolina.
One life baby! Man you are truly living yours Les.
I'm so stoked you are sharing the episodes for us to watch during all this. I haven't seen these since I was kid so many memories! And hilarious and helpful commentary thank you Les 🤘🇨🇦

Very fond memories watching this show with my grandfather. He always found it hilarious when you would express how good food tastes 😅
❤
Yes thank you les! I still watch this show all the time
First time ever watching Survivorman and it happens to be right when Lee uploads the full episodes to UA-cam, with that kinda luck id breeze right through a week
Man this is great thanks for uploading during these times
Wow, I can’t believe how young Les was here !
Favorite survival show.
Imagine how much less camera gear he could get away with now...little gopros for a couple hundred bucks can have the same video quality as his heavy gear did then.
I wonder if les reads this stuff, probably like us, late in the morning hours. You’re awesome man, thank you for all of your information through the years, no telling how many lives you’ve saved. I know I go in the woods I can’t walk in more than 50 yards without recalling your episodes and thinking what if I got stranded, what would les do!! Thanks brother.
I used to watch this dude when I was like 8 or 9 on cable TV. Its great to see he still gets the respect he deserves. I mean, the bigfoot stuff was dumb but he's still a survival genius
Les was screwed with the big foot season. No way was he going to be able to deliver anything other than stories. Then the "experts" scammed him to show something other than stories.
Now THIS is a REAL one-man show!
love that your Canadian always have, if you can survive a Canadian winter out in the bush you can survive anywhere
These are timeless!
You're the best! Thank you again! Gonna binge watch all of them!
Ive been on a less stroud kick for a few months. Great content mate
25:50 "My friends know that if I go silent, I'm really hurt." --Les Stroud, from the GQ "Breakdown" video released yesterday (6/25/20)
I learned so much from you Les. I've taken so many notes, I have a whole notebook full of helpful tips and advice from you over the years. If there's ever an apocalpyse situation, I have you to thank for saving my family and I when the time comes. Also, I've used them while camping with family.
Big fan. Thanks a lot for uploading the videos. The Scooby Doo underwear is a funny touch..
Im heading to Costa Rica next week for vacation! Thought it would be fun to watch this lol
Loved survivor man, I love your UA-cam channel. I love that you tell it as it is. If it's tough you say it is, but you teach good lessons that could save lives. I'm soaking up your wisdom, Less
I mean Les
I love watching this
Best shows of all time, survivorman, the first 48, mayday, family guy, Simpsons, South park
Love all of your past episodes and all of your new content and videos!! Keep it up Les!
Glad I discovered these on UA-cam 😋
Wow i have had many coconuts, but never knew about the spouting ones
I was lucky enough to do a one month Outward Bound backpacking trip in Costa Rica. One night my tarp/sleeping bag setup happened to conflict with the path of an army ant colony. Boy was that fun
thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
The monkeys throwing stuff at him made me laugh 😂
THANK YOU!!! I appreciate you posting your work for free. You truly care about passing on knowledge. (I know he gets ad revenue but still, this used to be on T.V and now we can watch it without paying)
Les is the man! Grew up watching these shows. His music is killer too!
Man, i remember watching these with my dad when they first came out. Whats fascinating to me (besides all of the badass-ness of Les Stroud) is how much camera tech. has improved in such a short amount of time. I mean, check out that underwater camera lol and think about the newest go-pros now. Just crazy.
than your lord for it

This seemed like one of the top roughest episodes for les
I'd kill to see him one do one last episode for fun. After the Covid 1-9 Joke episode I realized how he hasn't lost his touch and is still just as entertaining and endearing, so to see him do one last episode would be killer. If not then I totally get it, I mean reliving all these episodes for free is a gratitude I cannot express in words. Thank you, Les
I propose Survivorman - The Hood. Seven days in the Southside without a gun, knife or pepper spray. Have Les subsist on convenience store groceries or go dumpster diving at various fast-food joints. Alternate locations - Atlanta, Memphis, St. Louis...
Les you should really make a sound track from these shows....I would buy it
Anyone gonna talk about the speedy ghost bug at 29:56

The crew gave him three whole pens, that's hilarious.
Hay Les,I’d like to know your take on the movie castaway with Tom hanks
While living in central Florida, hunting as I have always..I was in the st.johns area with a mesh seat climber...unless you have had a drone land in your ear you can't understand!!!! I've been lucky but what a impressive thing to sit 5 hr in that situation!!!! Most people would rather die!!
