Nice video. I found the sound/noise comparison between the gas and electric mowers to be a great benefit in your video as I had not seen anyone else demonstrate this significant difference in any of their own videos. I just bought a brand new one of these self-propelled Ego mowers today from Home Depot. It is still in the box in my garage but I hope to have it up and running and cutting my front lawn in the morning tomorrow after the dew on the grass dries off. I am really looking forward to putting this bad boy through its paces especially since I have never owned or used a electric lawnmower before. Thank you for sharing your video. Cheers!
I just bought mine 4 days ago and love the quiet so much. It does an excellent job of mulching the grass and leaves. This will the first time in years where my mulching mower will truly eliminate a lot of leaf raking and bagging that is so time-consuming. Every single leaf that I drove over in the past few days has totally disappeared to make some good lawn fertilizer for next summer. Your movie is well done, touching on most of the important highlights. I too will never go back to a noisy gas mower. The noise level on this mower is so low, it was hard to believe at first that it would cut my grass, mulch my leaves and do such a clean job so quickly!! :-)
Just bought one a a week ago. Works great, handles high patches well. The 5ah battery lasted 55 minutes - enough time to finish my yard on one charge (the red light was on though). Love the quiet motor. It's lightweight and much easier to maneuver than a gas mower. Easy to clean up as well and stores easily. This is the "Tesla" of push mowers!
do you agree with him that the lowest blade setting is not low enough?
After a whole summer of mowing, I still say the lowest setting isn't low enough. At least for the type of grass I have, it feels like it needs to be mowed again after 3 days.
Desired grass length depends on various factors, including personal taste. The EGO cuts at the heights I've always used with gas mowers. And, it's super easy to change the blade height with just a push of the lever.
Yeah I purchased one after asking the question. I am very happy with the lowest setting and yes the ease of changing heights is amazing. Love this mower.

I own the E-GO mower Hedge Trimmer and the Whipper Snipper ,Love them all , I've owned the mower for two years now and just love it . Not one single problem so far .
As for the head lights they love them up north in the tropics to escape the intense tropical heat by mowing at night.
PS The only real problem of had is stopping the wife from using the mower.
So that is why they made the bigger battery. I have the 4 AH with my mower i purchased when they first came out. I was told the new battery will work on the old models. If you look inside your mower you will see extra space for a bigger battery. The new 7.5 AH battery is 379.00 at HD. They have a facebook page if you need answers to questions.
You can even carry it on a plane now easily with out the battery pack. Remember to keep telling them it’s not a bomb and have a tube of toothpaste in your sock w/o the label. White powder in your pocket is also fun

I bought a battery powered Dewalt string trimmer yesterday. This mower may be my next tool purchase! Hopefully, Tesla comes out with a pick-up truck in future. :-)

+EGO POWER+ I waited in line for 3 1/2 hours to preorder my Model 3. Now it's a waiting game. Until then, I can't wait to try more EGO equipment.

The purchase cost is 40%+ more and not sure how long the battery will last. The overall life cycle costs can be very high.
Possibly, but you also have to consider the savings from gas + oil changes. Also, the lack of gas fumes, dirty oily messes and noise is priceless to me.
With a gas mower you should wear ear protection, so... no ear ringing :) (The EGO is very quiet. However, not special, all electric mowers are quiet -albeit that they have this umbilical cord- so that is not a feature. The battery power, battery life and recharge time are though)
I'm so tempted to sell my HRX 217 for one of these. Still undecided

thomas heath Just picked up one a couple nights ago! I also purchased the backpack blower which included a 5.0ah battery along with a rapid charger.
This made sense to me seeing how just the battery alone is almost the price of the backpack blower.
Now I must wait for the rain to stop 🤔
you also don't stink like bunt gasoline! I want a model3 as well! and thank you for properly pronouncing TESLA correctly. Everyone says TEZLA. There is no Z in Tesla. This is our third mower. First was a 12v Black and Decker, second was another Black and Decker 24v. And now the EGO. LOVE THIS MOWER

You should see if you can find a way to try out an electric. The quietness is really nice.

what is the highest mow height?
What is the exact color of your shed? Brand and color name, please. Looks great. I'd like to paint my shed that color. I'd advise you to paint the top of the front the same color, as the bare wood looks a little odd. Or maybe paint it a different color.
The top is raw cedar shakes, and left that way on purpose to match gable above the front porch of my house. The blue is Fairmont Penthouse Mosaic Blue (#4009-6) in Valspar Reserve at Lowes.

Mostly through one summer, at least the worst part. Two complaints: lowest height still isn't low enough for me, and the chute gets clogged quickly if the grass is thick and a little wet. Of course, I've had that problem here for years on every mower, but seems worse on this. I still wouldn't trade it. It's more powerful as far as the self propelled action, and so quiet!
I bought this but blade does not spin. why is that? brand new. is it defective? how do u start it if not just by power button? am I missing something?

+steve huber I'm not sure how big the opening is inside the old mower, but the batteries are interchangeable. You can use the 7.5ah battery in the trimmer if you want (my next purchase)
+steve huber Yes, actually. All EGO Power+ batteries are completely compatible with all tools. You can definitely use the 7.5Ah battery in the non-self-propelled mower!

How has the plastic body held up?
+Chris Beidelman it has obviously been used. It's got scuffs and scratches but otherwise fine. They just came out with one that's self propelled and has a metal body but I don't think that's worth the cost increase
