Leah Remini has been outspoken about the Church of Scientology for over a decade. Her lawsuit lays out allegations that she has shared in interviews, movies, and her book, alleging over a decade of harassment, threats, interference with jobs, lost contracts, and defamation. Next someone needs to set up a class action lawsuit to sue Scientology for child trafficking and abuse They have 10 year olds sign Billion Year contracts, train them to "Audit" eg. ask adults, inappropriate sexual questions, get asked such questions themselves, make them work dangerous jobs without pay, lock up minors, give them no real education, separate them from their families, blame them for being victims of Church- protected child predators, etc. The list is long and abhorrent. Leah's lawsuit only touches on adult mistreatment by the cult. Serge Del Mar a UA-camr discusses what they do to kids.
Tampa Florida is a huge location where they have children working & “learning” the ways of Scientology.
The living conditions have been said to be atrocious & inhumane. All while parents are paying to have their children live & be indoctrinated within the teachings of Scientology.
Every time we get a glimpse inside of that world, the scarier it really is. It’s frightening how something this “controversial” (to put it lightly) is still running/functioning in our country.

yep. as someone who also grew up within the church, everything in this lawsuit is 200% true. Leah is a real hero to continue to take them on; these campaigns of harassment and destroying of "squirrels" is a very common practice and part of why people who leave the church (like I did as a teenager) basically have to cut off all contact with family still int he church and stay mostly silent for fear of retribution on this level
I saw someone who was in it from beginning to end. At first it was tempting, and it quickly got terrifying.
My experience only - My best friend made it out of Scientology. She lost her family and is still fighting to get her teen children out. They are a powerful organization.

Part of their strength is people's fear of their bullying and retribution. We need to all do what we can to stand up against them and weaken them until they disappear.
Fear that makes you more alert is good, that helps you treasure the good in your life still good. Reactions to fear that make you unable to act in support yourself or others when needed that is a big problem. Fear itself is not the problem.
They have way too many things coming at them now then they did back in the day, especially before the growth of online backlash. Go for it!!!

I faithfully watched AFTERMATH when it aired. Leah & Co. were meticulous in their presentation knowing how avaricious the litigation would be. She deserves a billion in damages in my opinion. @@caroline-brisbane8577 The IRS and its agents had been sued, or threatened with lawsuit by Scientology and would have tied up the courts for years if they didn't capitulate to them and declare CoS "tax exempt" as a "religious organization". It was a sheer terroristic campaign.

Trust me, if they went after me, a literal nobody- never a Scientologist, friends secretly were and tried to get me in by putting me in a room with 5 of them and I punched one in the face and left…, I spoke out against them and they got me fired from my job, followed me back from LA to NY, parked outside my house videoing me etc. it was insane. Just so much.
I would end up calling them out for following me and just yelled at them a lot and they ran away freaking out. It was pathetic lol

Love that you are covering this. Scientology is a criminal organization over here in Germany, and it's insane to me that they can get away with so much. I love that more and more people thanks to Leah and others like her learn about what really is going on in the so-called Church.
Is that true? I live in Hamburg and I’ve walked by the Scientology building downtown and every once in a while, I’ve seen protests outside their office, but they aren’t big or often.

The German government does not recognize Scientology as a religion; rather, it views it as an abusive business masquerading as a religion and believes that it pursues political goals that conflict with the values enshrined in the German constitution. 😁

Edited to add ~ I learned about the German government business with Scientology through Aaron Levin Smiths channel Growing Up In Scientology. He did a great live show a few months ago about all their "churches" in Europe, including membership numbers as well as the size of each organisation.

I’ve waited yrs for this!!! When she first made the docu series about scientology and how it negatively effected not only her but several other people just made me think.. how is this possible, just. How.
Not several people - thousands. Whole families have been torn apart. Children & elders abused, trafficked, held against their will, etc, etc.

After watching every episode of Scientology and the Aftermath, I’m surprised it took Leah R. this long to sue. I hope she has all evidence she needs to win.
As I understand from Aaron @GrowingUpInScientology, Leah has wrestled with this decision for a loooong time. One has to understand that this isn't a decision to be taken lightly, because:
• It will take YEARS to litigate (as Emily said in the video)
• It will make the "Church" of Scientology even more hostile towards her
• That could lead to even more and/or worse harassment
• She would have to find lawyers willing to go up against an organisation with religious protection throught the 1st Amendment - and with billions of dollars that will ensure the process drags out as long as possible
• And by suing them she would open herself up to the discovery process, in this case meaning letting the lawyers of Scientology get access to many aspects of her life
Taking all of that into consideration I'm not surprised that it was a difficult decision to make. The fact that she did is clear evidence of how incredibly impressive and brave Leah Remini is.
Leah has the receipts for her claims, they've been working on this for awhile.
Also, Leah is a smart woman. She knew she would have to get all her ducks in a row before proceeding. And the Danny M. trial had an SP testify to the documentation/rules etc. so that means that Leah’s trial will have the same. Because no one but someone that was that high up could ever know what all those thousands of documents are and what they mean. Gotta give LRH credit for insisting everything be written down!!😂

I am so glad you are covering this. I got sucked into all of this with Leah's show and went down deep into that 🚧 🐰🕳. I read as many books as I could and followed the Masterson trial. I hope this lawsuit is successful in bringing COS tactics into the mainstream and hopefully the "Church" will lose their tax exempt status because of this.

Well, they used to be litigious. Now they don't sue people anymore because of opening themselves up to discovery. In their LR Hubbard policies they have to write reports on just about everything, so there is a lot of written proof that a person being sued can ask for.
A customer of mine actually suggested that I look into scientology and dianetics because I had stuff on my mind. He claimed “it works”….lol. I was at work so I chose not to say anything except I have my faith in God, thanks. What I really wanted to say is, I want nothing to do with that cult

I’ve followed Leah from the beginning of her departure of the CoS to present. I’ve just binged her podcast again recently and I’m SOOO glad to have my fav UA-camr covering her case!!!
Same boat! watched Aftermath years ago, listened to the podcast when it first came out… found Emily in Oct 2020 and have been sub and a certified Law Nerd ever since. She’s still my fav UA-camr!!! I found A-Aron in March and added the whole SPTV crew to my sub list and without a trial for the last several months, I’ve had lots of SPTV lives to keep me busy!
I was a lawnerd before I started watching Growing up in Scientology, so awesome that there is a crossover of subscribers- both excellent channels. A-A Ron is amazing too!
It seems that the church wants to act as a business entity and not an organization of faith. They try to co-mingle the two, but leans heavily towards a business.

I've watched you at various times for years, but I'm back because Aaron Smith-Levin of Growing Up in Scientology said you're covering Leah's suit against Davey Miscavige and the "church" of Scientology. I've watched the Aftermath series and followed the podcast Leah did with Mike Rinder until Scientology got that canceled using threats. The Headleys from Blown for Good have hundreds of OSA files from 2005 kept on people who had left that basically outlines the program on how to handle these people, what to do to them and what’s PI’s to sic on to these people. I’ve driven the Clearwater facility and it’s huge. They had military style armed guards outside the “hotel” entrance. It was so weird.
I followed Leah from the time she walked away from scientology and I never saw her spreading any hate but only the truth how she experienced it. And warns other people and offers help and a lending ear. It’s the church that is spreading hate and rumors. Cause where’s the wife of the leader tell the truth about that

If anyone else os interested in following the lawsuits against this organization, please look up Valerie Haneys story. She was trafficked and ultimately escaped in the trunk of a car. She is currently suing the church

Is is not true that Valerie was forced to go through CoS arbitration instead of a lawsuit through the courts? We can only imagine how productive that will be for her.
The lawsuit is stalled at the moment for that arbitration but, last I read, the court has not dismissed the case. The court said she needed to attempt the arbitration but if she wasn't able to get through the process then she can come back and ask the court to intervene

I have a friend who got caught up in Scientology along with her husband. They had two very young daughters at the time. After 20 years they desired to leave and return to their first church. If they left publicly they would be barred from ever seeing their daughters ever again. Both daughters are adults and still in Scientology. One works for them as well. They chose to leave privately. They had to go through a very long debriefing. Her husband’s was over a year long. Even after leaving my friend tried to promote the “good” Scientology was doing. She did that on Facebook. I’m not sure if that was part of the deal when she left. She stopped doing that after about a year. She would not answer any questions I asked her. Making it clear she would not bash a church one of her daughters still works for. However she just recently told another friend privately that everything we have heard is true. She didn’t mean that in a good way. But she would not go into detail. She did tell me she regrets raising her daughters as Scientologists.
They keep a vault of information on every member, so they have it against them when needed. And they’re supposed to tell on each other ….just like siblings do in a family sometimes when a parent requires them to report everything or like the mob. 26:40
